Metallica is just awesome. I've gotten into them quite heavily over the last 7 years, and they are by far my favorite band. Love them or hate them, you gotta respect them, and not the way that MTV did last year (that was a disgrace). Favorite Metallica song is up in the air, depends on the mood. The intro to Enter Sandman is quite heavy and nasty, but then again, so is half of St. Anger, which, in my opinion, does not suck. Just gotta get used to it. I'm seeing Metallica in October and I can't wait. Already compiling a list of songs I want to hear. By the way, what's the best Metallica song that's been played live?

I know it was Hetfield and Ulrich, as guitarist/singer and drummer, duh. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth was the original guitarist, before being booted out and replaced by Kirk Hammett (thank god). And the original bassist wasn't Cliff. It was one of their friends. His name was Dave something, McCovney, I think.

I'm glad Mustaine was kicked out so he could create Megadeth who IMO pwn Metallica

Metallica would have been better if they had mustaine and hammet. James could play the riffs and sing, becuase he is a better singer than mustaine, and hammett and mustaine could throw down some crazy doubled solos like iron maiden.

i know seriously. i mean that he is one of the best drummers in the "hit every drum and make it sound good" style but there are better drummers that play in the "keep a beat gotta keep a beat" style

He's not a good drummer, just a normal, nothing special drummer.

Obviously my favorite song is Master Of Puppets, besides that I'm not sure. There is so many. But if I had to pick it would probably be Welcome Home (Sanitarium) or The Four Horsemen.

I'd have to disagree. Although they are great albums my favorite falls on Load or the black album. I'm still likin' those two, those are MY personal favorites
