Are those what I think they are on the top? Missile launchers?
according to the description, three pairs of SS-N-22 Sunburn cruise missiles

upon some googling, i dont think this was actually flew, i think it was just a hydroplane. also couldn't find any pictures of one in the air.

edit- the article also says it has a top speed of 500kph, and i dunno if you could do that on the water so maybe it does fly a bit.

Yer, IIRC, the russians made a bunch of planes that didn't fly,so they could get across water quickly. Weird ****. That one AES linked looks like the most steampunk plane in existence. If only it had more cogs.

In other news, diode assignment is done and handed in. Just gotta wait to see if Turnitin has claimed I've plagiarised :P
Can't update my phones software cause it isn't in warranty anymore wat

gg motorola
Never been a fan of motorola. Nor Nokia, for that matter - my housemate just bought a nokia that the viewing angle isn't correct when you're looking straight on at it o.O You have to angle it for the dark colours to look normal....

The last two phones I've had have been sony erricssons, and they're awesome. No complaints whatsoever. The real advantage they have over most phones is that the OS just makes sense, a lot of really really subtle things that make using the phone just that much easier.

Used to have a motorola that crashed all the time (this was in 2002 or so and I didn't use it for much more than texting), had a nokia that fell apart, also you guys remember for a period of about 3 years nokia kept releasing phones where the screen refresh rate was too slow for the graphics processor? Yeah. They suck.

jaklyons 03-14-2010 04:48 PM

I have a Sony Ericsson now, I've had it for a few years. The phone I had before that was a Nokia N-Gage which I had for a while, that was hilarious.

jaklyons 03-14-2010 05:02 PM

Man, I so want an iPhone, I just can't afford it right now. As soon as I can though, I'm getting one, no question.

Zed_Leppelin 03-14-2010 07:28 PM

iPhone is pretty much the best thing thats ever happened to me. No BS. I swear it's even helped me become more organized.

Like last night for example, we were arguing at the bar and my friend said that girls cannot squirt milk like a gun through they're nipples and anytime you see that happen its fake. iphone proved him wrong!

looks decent too, i shout artist names/song names at the phone and it plays em too

heres the standby screen... everything i use most right there and on the side is indepandant music keys, super handy andy

Zed_Leppelin 03-14-2010 09:53 PM

that homescreen is ****in ugly, and sort of tough to look at

Left Face Down 03-15-2010 12:36 AM

I don't like phones that slide in any form or fashion. Even looked at a Sony one, and I am a Sony whore, but couldn't do it. My friend had one that had the whole dual slide thing. Slides one way for the number pad and then you could turn it on it's side and slide it the other way to get the full keyboard. Of course after owning it for a little over 6 months it broke and he was able to slide it so it looked like a really stretched out z.

My next phone will either be the iPhone 3GS or Blackberry Bold 9700. Still working on the whole job thing though.

Oh, and TMI I ate some decent microwavable lasagna and it wasn't even that bad. Past the fact I feel like throwing it up right now.

AG 03-15-2010 04:12 AM

Atm I have some terrible LG thing.

I had a Sony Ericsson P1i, and it's an excellent phone. I really want an iPhone. Also, got my BSA Ultra.

Ag?

AG 03-15-2010 04:43 AM

Yes?

The_Mop 03-15-2010 05:29 AM

I've currently got a sonny erricsson slide phone (w595) that's really mint. Most of the things that get peope annoyed about slide phones have been changed (one example being it doesn't hang up if you close it, or jump back to front screen).

Looking to get a samsung touchscreen thing of some sort when I upgrade my contract, they look pretty ace. If I get a slightly better contract though, I can get an HTC Hero........ worth it?

AG 03-15-2010 06:03 AM

HTC hero is the iPhone for people that like to think.

I would love an HTC hero. Amazing phone.

The_Mop 03-15-2010 06:16 AM

Annoyingly though, the only contract I can get it on is a 25 quid, 24 month one.

I'm on 3 atm, currently spending 25 a month but my contract's over in a month and they're currently doing some awesome deals so I can get unlimited texts and internet w/200 mins for 20 quid, but for some phones they drop it to 18. Samsung thingy in question is one of the 18 quid ones, and saving 7 quid a months sounds like a pretty attractive prospect.

BUt on the other hand.....HTC Hero...... :naughty:

AG 03-15-2010 06:19 AM

7 quid a month = two more pints in the pub = 8 cans in the house = 1 duck = 1kg beef = 2 chickens = 4kg rice = 200 decent hunting pellets = pack of really good strings = weeks bus travel if student.

The_Mop 03-15-2010 06:44 AM

Thankfully I'm moving way closer to uni next year so travel costs are gonna go way down.... mabye that's how I can justify the Hero :P

AG 03-15-2010 07:00 AM

Where you at now like?

The_Mop 03-15-2010 07:03 AM

Heaton, just of chilli road. Gonna be moving to the very bottom of heaton, only about a 15 min walk away from uni \m/ The bus round here is terrible, and we're on the annoying side of the metro that doesn't go to haymarket without changing. Piss.

That said, I kinda have an ongoing problem with busses, I really don't see how they can even expect to operate when there's so many cars on the road nationally. and they're getting more expensive by the minute. PRTs need to come along :P (wiki it - personal rapid transit)

AG 03-15-2010 07:16 AM

I used to live in Sandyford, and that was awesome.

Now I live over the river in Bensham, and it's fine and dandy. That being said I don't go to my 1 lecture a week.

Left Face Down 03-15-2010 07:17 AM

I always loved the bus system at my University. It would go up one street and then come back down another back. So people at my apartments would often have to wait 30 minutes to catch a bus that wasn't filled beyond capacity (with buses coming by every 5-10 minutes) because we were on the way back.

Modern Iconoclast 03-15-2010 07:17 AM

My school has a PRT, the only one like it in the world. It was built in the 70's though so it breaks down at the worst possible times and you end up stuck on the track for 45 minutes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgantown_Personal_Rapid_Transit

The_Mop 03-15-2010 07:24 AM

Yeah, I've read up on the morgantown thing. It looks pretty shagged tbh but officially it's not really a PRT, some classification bollocks.

Anywho, AG - I really wanted to live in sandyford but my housemates are mainly language students who do **** all work and lectures and were used to living really close to uni (Ricky Road) so entirely took for granted that nearer locations to the city make it a hell of a lot easier to live. Being that I was in hendo last year, I really didn't want to live far out but I guess that's compromise.... Being an engineering student who mainly does 9-5 lectures, this pisses me off quite a bit.
