poor stupid sloth...and all this time...

Wow, there's been a lot of drama here recently. I respected Sloth, now I don't know what to think.

This is the S&L version of Watergate.

I'm going to adapt it into a film.

Eh, I don't really blame him, I still like him because he is a nice guy.

And Burton... you silly you. I'll comment more on this later. I'm being watched.

Anyway, I'm here to be Sloth's advocate. In my opinion, what he did wasn't right at all, but at least someone should inform him what happened, and we as a community can't turn our backs against him. The fault was indeed bad, and it's not cool at all to plagiarise other people's material, but we pretty much have been knowing Sloth for a while, and even if he did copy all that material... Well. I don't know.

We just shouldn't have judged that badly. Maybe those other webs are his, who knows? The internet is all devious, you know.

What I'm trying to say is, let's just let this slip, after all it's the internets, guys.

I wouldn't dare let it slip because I don't appreciate special treatment, especially for someone who has lied to people on this forum and taken advantage of their time and effort; users like Surf wrote out huge crits on "his" material and that's entirely worthless since it has no value to him

I'm not about to hold a grudge, he wrote decent songs for two years on this site, I am just utterly disappointed that one of the main people in our community was lying to make himself look good, and he should be punished for that

Oh well but he's been honest for quite a while. I'm not saying let it slip, it'd be good if you told him why the ban was extended or something. You know, be a nice moderator and all. It's not like someone will suddenly spam this place, and it'd be just nice to do that. Say, community service.

Understandable and correct. Remember I also took my time reading his stuff. Not so much lately, but in the past, and well... yeah. I don't feel it. Maybe I don't care about my work or something. But you are right, justice, despite not being fair at all, is justice anyway. I respect it.

I think I'm more with Burt on this: Plagiarism is never good, under no circumstances is it really forgivable. I think the shame may well be punishment enough - like Toes mentioned, the first post in one of his threads is likely to have something to do with it - I know that I for one would at least Google his work before I commented. But at the end of the day, if he's willing to post original works, then I will handle them in an objective manner. But, like Tojes said, Sloth is a nice guy, he just has to overcome the (for want of a better word) embarrassment at having stolen someone else's work and passed it off as his own.
