BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 07:27 AM

I am bored, and its 5:20 am here. I really should go to bed soon, but I am just now getting tired.

My sleep schedule = fucked

Bartender 11-16-2004 07:29 AM

Mine too. It's a sensible hour here though (1:30pm), so I'm fine.

I wonder where Paranoidd is.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 07:31 AM

Probably meandering around in the pit right now...

Bartender 11-16-2004 07:36 AM

Good. I'll use this time to catch up on him.

Have you got anything important to do tomorrow that you need to be not tired for?

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 07:39 AM

Nope, nothing at all...I lead a very boring and bland life at this moment in time.

And also I have noticed the pit has turned reputation points into a circle jerk of no meaning...

Bartender 11-16-2004 07:43 AM

So screw going to bed. Stay up long as you like/can find things to do.

And yeah, it has somewhat. Not that they make much difference to mods :-/ The headstart we get kind of eradicates the point. Nice to read comments though.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 07:49 AM

Ya, I just see people in there giving rep points to every one for no reason at all. I find that kind of pointless, but I also find alot of the pit members very pointless as well.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 07:49 AM

I don't get this whole rep point system.

I get alot of reps, but I don't give out that many. I generally only give them to people who post worthwhile/extremely funny posts. I thought that was the whole point?

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 07:53 AM

That was the point of it, it was made to basically recognize useful and helpful members, not who are the most popular.

I also only give them to people who deserve them, as in posting retarded things get negative reps, and people who post good informative things and such get good reps.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 07:58 AM

That's what I do...I don't understand people begging for rep points.

Bartender 11-16-2004 08:07 AM

I try to restrict giving them out to just people who really deserve it, since (again thanks to the head-start) my giving rep points gives a lot.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 08:09 AM

Do my points mean more because I have stars?

Somehow I lost 200 points yesterday and went under 1000, yet my stars stayed.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 08:16 AM
That's what I do...I don't understand people begging for rep points.
I have not begged for a single point, and I have 1282 right now, I earned mine with out begging. But it seems in the pit every one is begging for them, even though most people in the pit are worthless users in the aspect of them actually contributing to the forum.

And people with more points give out more rep points. Like say some one with 1000 points gives out more then some one with like 800 points.

Bartender 11-16-2004 08:19 AM

Yeah, it's to do with how many points you have. Mods have 20k as default (though it can go higher or lower), so they give out 200 at a time.

Also, if your points are in the negative, I don't think you can give out any. Or at least, they don't seem to make a difference.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 08:19 AM

Well considering the pit is usually a flame fest, you'll get points for just about anything, it really is a popularity poll. I got quite a bit for arguing with somebody about "the state of music" though.

It's more applicable to the lesson/instrument forums where points can be given for how helpful people are.

SonorKen 11-16-2004 08:20 AM

I always negative rep people begging for rep points. I too am picky about passing out rep points. I always sign mine too, I don't like people not signing thier reps.. As a matter of fact! Im heading to the pit right now to pass out some beggin justice!

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 08:22 AM

I do the same, and I make sure they know it's me.

IE: "begging for rep points is lame, like you. - paranoidd"

Yea, it is alot more sensible for the insturment forums, and also the music genre forums as well. People all help out in these forums in various ways, but I don't see the pit doing any good for the forum...

I as well sign my reps, pretty lame if you do not show who you are.

Bartender 11-16-2004 08:23 AM

Three cheers for Ken!

I actually need to remember to start negative repping people, even just spammers and advertisers, if only so when I want to positive rep people who are doing well, I can.

Bartender 11-16-2004 08:35 AM

Yep.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 08:36 AM

I like Drybes he is generally really good, that thread is stupid though.
I like Drybes he is generally really good, that thread is stupid though.
Yes, he is generally good, but he is almost considered a spammer though.

And most of the people in there are begging for points like crazy...

Bartender 11-16-2004 08:56 AM

Am I the only person who can't stand Dane Cook's stand-up?

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 09:06 AM

Never heard of him, so I can't really say.

Bartender 11-16-2004 09:13 AM

You're lucky :)

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 09:14 AM
You're lucky :)

Anyway, I'm off for a while.
He's an aquired taste. I think he's hilarious.

See ya.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-16-2004 09:16 AM

I am going to listen to Mithras for a bit and passout, can't stay up any longer.

Paranoidd 11-16-2004 09:25 AM

It's only 10:20 AM, I'm already ready to go back to sleep.

gmoneyguy 11-16-2004 09:34 AM
