Screw you.

:p

I'm not a big fan of "Go To Heaven". It seems cheesetastic. Plus Jerry changed his tone :(

I liked his old tone.

Badmoon 08-29-2005 06:27 PM

"Althea", "Alabama Getaway" and especially "Don't Ease Me In" are great tracks.

JonG 08-29-2005 06:29 PM

I'm not use to that kind of Dead :P

I hate Jerrys tone on "Far From Me"

It's fuzz :(

Very well researched. 1969 is my favorite, especially when you add Led Zeppelin II
/waits for Schyma to dissagree
/wonders if Schyma was hurricain'd

JonG 08-29-2005 06:33 PM

Led Zeppelin II is my personal favorite from anything they ever did. '69 was good too.

NP : Dire Wolf(excellent song)

Others released in '69:

Blind Faith s/t
Green River
Willy and the Poorboys
CSN
Electronic Sound
Grand Funk
On Time
Aoxomoxoa
Live/Dead
Volunteers
Stand Up
Ummagumma
Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire)
Tommy
Let It Bleed
Yes

Illmatic 08-29-2005 06:36 PM

I prefer I (and III, but that's 1970) to II, personally.

And it's hard for me to choose between '68 and '69, personally.

JonG 08-29-2005 06:38 PM

There's too many to choose from, I would love to be growing up back then.

Woodstock 08-29-2005 06:39 PM

I prefer 68 and 69 too, but 67 is a great contender.

Jacaranda 08-29-2005 06:39 PM

1969 was a great year in music. 2 CCR's a Who, a Beatles, a Stones, a Bob Dylan the whole gang is there but Pink Floyd. Oh, nevermind the whole gang is there.

Although I'm not to fond of Nashville Skyline, that album is my least favorite of Dylan's 60's stuff.

Badmoon 08-29-2005 06:39 PM
When are you guys going to get the hang of listing Forever Changes very early on in any list of albums released in 1967? :( That really was an implausibly good year for music though.

You went off The Grateful Dead? You reviewed like...12 albums by them or something.
No, I just don't base my life completely on them. :p

I'm still a huge fan, most likely the biggest this site has seen, or close to it.

Yeah, but then you would have to live through the 80's/90's and all of the synthesizers/powerballads/overdubbing/boybands that ensue
Still...

Distant Echoes 08-29-2005 06:41 PM

I prefer '69. Alot of great bands got their start, and already great bands seemed to be at their peak.

JonG 08-29-2005 06:42 PM

That would suck.

Badmoon, I think you are the biggest Dead fan on this site, and great supplier of knowledge. :thumb:

NP : Soul Kitchen

What a song.

Badmoon 08-29-2005 06:44 PM

Yea, I even use to make Grateful Dead audio mixes.

NP: Mix Masta Wharf Rat - Catfish Beefheart

I wish my upload speed was faster.

Distant Echoes 08-29-2005 07:07 PM

yea uploading sux. I tried uploading Jimi Hendrix live @ Woodstock earlier. Didn't work on YSI, as well as some other legnthy clips. What a waste of 2 hours.

The consistency of this peanut butter on my toast is way thicker than normal.

Walrus Gumboot 08-29-2005 07:12 PM

I don't know why I said I'd put it in Other Music, that's just stupid

....Thanks for sharing.

Do you know what bands I always get confused? Boston and Journey.

JonG 08-29-2005 07:16 PM

You're welcome.

I get Boston, Journey, Foreigner all mixed up.

Cheesy 70's rock.

I get that way about two-syllable bands I don't know much about

I accidentally heard Boston's More than A Feeling three times yesterday. I have to say I like it

ATM 08-29-2005 07:19 PM

That's because Boston are great :-D

I love the story of how the band started.

metallicapeppermint27 08-29-2005 07:23 PM

i was so glad when pink floyd came back and played at live8 because it will be the only time i will be able to listen to great classic rock live (stones tickets sell out too quick)

There are a lot of bands touring right now: Allman Brothers, Paul McCartney come to mind, but you're going to have to be fast and know when tickets are released.

i like the allman bro's especially in Derek and the Dominoes but i would consider them more bluesy than classic rock
