I'm going to see Roger Miret and the Disasters at Valentines because Scag Rotter is playing. Other than that there's no shows I'm going to anytime soon. Maybe Fall Out Boy with my sister.

Running games like.....FEAR and other games that require a good card at the highest setting.

The guy at CompUSA said for my price the 6600 would run games that require a good card for at least 2 years before I would have to upgrade again.

You'd never be able to run games at full high settings for 2 years. It won't even be might not even be able to run UT'07 on high which will come out this year, but you never know.

It can't run Fear at high because it would never be able to get playable fps with softshadows on.

This isn't to say that it's a bad card, most games will still look great just not the best they could. DX10 and it's games are going to start coming out at the end of this year, might not get big till a year or so after. So you would never be able to play those games at high.

I had off today and have off tomorrow. Today sucked but tomorrow i'm gonna go to my friend's house.

This weekend was pretty cool. We went to our foreign exchange student friend's new host house and I stole like 6 dollars in change from their slot machine in the game room so I don't have to waste money on cigarettes, then my sister never asked for the other half of that 20 my mom gave us for lunch so I get to use that on gas to goto downtown tomorrow.

Where is the dude exchanged from?

Ive got a 6600GT, its running everything kinda nicely right now on high/medium (including fear and Quake 4) but ive had it a over a year and if I was buying a new card id be waiting for the high end 6800's and x800's to come down in price (which they are totally starting to now the 7000's and x1k's are out - which if you can afford then go nuts.)

If your looking for a major graphics updrade, personally I'd wait for DX10 capable cards come out.

What's DX10? Would I be better off getting something like a 7800?

DirectX 10. It's a graphical API slated to come out and be Vista only. The current DX is 9c. You have to have a videocard with the capable hardware to run it, currently there is no capable hardware. A 7800 is still not DX10 capable. I'd only suggest waiting if you're willing to wait till the end of the year for one, otherwise just buy now and you'll still be fine just won't see some of the new graphical features if you get Vista.
