Days off from school are teh pwns :)

I ended up waking up at like 8:30 this morning anyway, but instead of school, I've been playing World Of Warcraft :)

/happy nerd

I haven't gotten any of the albums, but I was looking at the site. Looks pretty cool. And JPJ, I'm gonna grab that Eat A Peach. Thanks :)

2muchket! 02-10-2006 12:55 PM

I own Led Zepplin II, which LZ album should I get next ??

Lunch 02-10-2006 12:58 PM

Led Zeppelin I, definitely.

What do you need to use in order to extract .rar folders?

BigTrav415 02-10-2006 01:00 PM
I own Led Zepplin II, which LZ album should I get next ??
Any of them  But I would recommend LZ I as your next, it's got some of their popular stuff and some more awesome bluesy stuff than most other LZ albums.

How Many More Times intro = :)

PinkFreud 02-10-2006 01:01 PM

winrar.

I just downloaded Lyd-Lyd because it had cool cover-art, it's pretty awesome although it's only 20 minutes. Kinda reminds me of QMS but I'm not really sure, it's heavier.

MidnightRider 02-10-2006 01:51 PM
I own Led Zepplin II, which LZ album should I get next ??
You should probably go with LZ 1, but Houses of The Holy is a great alternative if you want something a little different.

NP: The Stones - Happy

2muchket! 02-10-2006 01:53 PM

I was gonna borrow Houses of the Holy an put it on my PC, so I think I'll buy LZ I

ATM 02-10-2006 02:12 PM

I wish that guy used YSI instead of rapidshare on his blog.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 02:26 PM

Im kind of glad he doesnt use YSI, theres music on there from 3 months ago thats still active so yeah.

MidnightRider 02-10-2006 02:35 PM

Yeah that site is awesome, I haven't heard of half of those bands. I got my dad to take a look and he said there were tons of good albums on there. This weekend when I'm not working with dial-up I'm gonna go on a dl'ing rampage and burn like 25 cds off there.

I'm getting a new guitar tommorow, I can't wait!

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 02:36 PM

What kind of guitar are you getting?

MidnightRider 02-10-2006 02:47 PM

Well I'm prone to changing my mind, but right now I'm looking at an Ibanez RG1570.

temporary 02-10-2006 02:49 PM
I was gonna borrow Houses of the Holy an put it on my PC, so I think I'll buy LZ I
Yeah, its brilliant even if they stole half the songs from Blues and Folk artists.

Wow, Explosions in the Sky own.

gmoneyguy 02-10-2006 02:56 PM
Well I'm prone to changing my mind, but right now I'm looking at an Ibanez RG1570.
ehhh, If you getting it for metal, get a Jackson. Ibanez is poorly made.

Woodstock 02-10-2006 03:03 PM

I downloaded the Complex and the Gandalf albums so far. This is a sweet website.

MidnightRider 02-10-2006 03:08 PM
ehhh, If you getting it for metal, get a Jackson. Ibanez is poorly made.
Well, this will be my first electric, so I'm really just looking for something cheap that I can jam on. I guess I might as well look at some Jackson's though, if you say they're good.

BigTrav415 02-10-2006 03:10 PM

Well, I was looking at a schedule for a theatre about an hour from me in Raliegh, and it turns out that a Grateful Dead cover band called Dark Star Orchestra is playing there both tonight and tomorrow night. I was kind of skeptical, but I went to the band website, and they seem really good. They've been doing it for like 8 years, and have recieved awesome reviews lots of magazines and stuff. A sort of cool gimmick of theirs is that they play a "real" setlist from a Dead concert, like they would pick, say, June 6, '74, Winterland Arena, San Francisco, and they play that set, then say which set it was at the end. I really want to go either tonight or tomorrow, but I don't know if anyone will take me. The show starts at 9:30 on both nights, and I don't know how long it will last. Plus, even if someone could take me, I don't know if they'd want to stay for the concert, and what they would do in Raleigh late-night (my parents aren't exactly partyers) My sister isn't here, so it would either have to be my parents or if I could convince a friend to go with me (pray for me), and his parents take us. My parents would probably warm up to the idea more anyway if a friend went.

It sucks not being able to drive :(

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 03:11 PM

Jackson's are great, i ha(d) one until it got ****ed up and trampled on :( and it was one hell of a guitar.

Can you take a bus?
It's sucks more to have a senior license but have parents who are crazy and don't trust me to drive anywhere far, especially with friends.

I'm downloading the Moving Sidewalks album now. I have high expectations for it.

Does anyone have Steve Winwood- Arc of a Diver? I think Winwood's solo career is pretty poppy for the most part, but my friend recommended it.

BigTrav415 02-10-2006 03:18 PM
Can you take a bus?
I doubt mis padres would let me, even if there was one going from Rocky Mount to Raliegh (which there might be). I'm hoping more that my friend Craig will go, his dad has pulled him out of school this year to go to both a Rolling Stones and a Jack Johnson concert. I still have to tell my parents about the concert. They aren't home right now, but it's not like we're doing anything this weekend, so *prays*.

Broken Arrow 02-10-2006 03:19 PM

I've downloaded the Lyd and Billy Cox albums.

I'm glad he uses Rapidshare because most of those uploads have already had up to 200 downloads already. Plus like I already said to save time people could just download different albums and upload them on YSI and send them out in email. I dont care though.

I just found out Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks(The Band), The Guess Who and the Electric Prunes have all played my town, which is surprising because we only have like 6000 people and back than probably only 4500 or less. My dad said the best show he ever saw was CCR in '69. That would be so awesome, in their prime too.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 03:20 PM

I just downloaded The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds, its real good.

Good luck with that, fortunetly my dad loves the Grateful Dead (and a ton of other stuff I listen to) so theres a good chance I'll be seeing Phil Lesh.

JonG 02-10-2006 03:37 PM
ehhh, If you getting it for metal, get a Jackson. Ibanez is poorly made.
Incorrect.

That is incredibly false. Jackson are worse made then Ibanez. Unless you want to pay for bolt-on necks and trashy pups with a Licensed FR, then get a Jackson.

Woodstock 02-10-2006 04:02 PM

I plan on downloading:

Nirvana
Copperhead (John Cipollina's band)
Bang
Jade Warrior
Reaction
Truth & Janey
Lyd
Peacepipe

all this weekend. It will probably take a whole weekend unfortunately.

Broken Arrow 02-10-2006 04:08 PM

Yeah, I have a bootleg of Copperhead.

There is a link to it on that site but I had it a few months ago.

Good band though. just downloaded that Gandalf album.

That should be a good time. I saw him back in November.
That should be a good time. I saw him back in November.
Cool, who's he got with him these days?

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 04:37 PM

my dad absolutely despises the Dead along with the Stones :(

jpj 02-10-2006 04:40 PM
Cool, who's he got with him these days?
Chris Robinson (from the Black Crowes), Larry Campbell, Mookie Siegel, John Molo, and Barry Sleiss.

If I clear my cookies will rapidshare let me download the second half of the Complex album instead of waiting 67 minutes?

thickasabrick 02-10-2006 04:51 PM

I've already downloaded Dark - Round the Edges part one, Kaleidoscope s/t part one, and Complex s/t part one. All of them have two parts, but I figured I should download just one part to see if I like them. They are all great albums, I'm actually just on the second song of the Kaleidoscope album...but it's good so far.

If anyone wants to like download the second parts to those albums, we can do a trade! I haven't tried uploading anything for a long time using YSI, but I could try, and I'm pretty sure my AIM works fine. I am very very impressed by the Dark album, it sounds like a cross between Sabbath and Floyd with more San Fran sounding vocals, they sometimes actually sound kind of like Ian Anderson on the Aqualung album for some songs. I'm downloading The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds right now.

And did I mention that when I'm in Maui for spring break, there's gonna be a music festival for Earth day, headlining (from what I've heard so far) is Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. My mom said she could get tickets if I wanted. I'm excited now.

robo2448 02-10-2006 04:58 PM

I just downloaded The Growing Concerns. It's pretty good. San Francisco pop folk psychedelia. Good trippy stuff.

thickasabrick 02-10-2006 05:13 PM

The Kaleidoscope album is good, nothing terribly original really...it just sounds like your typical San Franish fuzzy psychedelic music, although apparently it's Mexican.

I think I just sent out the Dark - Round the Edges part 1 album out. Someone tell me if it doesn't work or something

edit - Woah, I'm on the first song on the Zodiac album, it sounds like The Doors with more sound effects, a real/good bass player, and a sitar! The poetry even sounds like Morrison.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-10-2006 05:28 PM

I just downloaded the first Jade Warrior album its reallly good, i recomend it to download.

i ****ing love this site.

Woodstock 02-10-2006 06:01 PM

Download the Bang! album, sounds like Black Sabbath.

magicbus 02-10-2006 06:05 PM

Did anybody get that Odin album? I think I might do that.

Woodstock 02-10-2006 06:11 PM
Did anybody get that Odin album? I think I might do that.
Next on my list. I just started downloading that Lyd album.
Wow, Explosions in the Sky own.
I fully endorse this post. I'm really getting into post-rock, like EiTS, Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor*, stuff like that.

np: Stealer's Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You

*anyone here like Godspeed?
