Eagles fairwell tour on NBC now. It ends in 10 minutes though. I just saw Take It Easy

thickasabrick 08-28-2005 06:59 PM

I think I'm going to try and learn about ten CCR songs, they are really the only band whose songs look appealing for me to learn right now. I always start to learn songs, then just lose interest, or forget them a week later. I like playing CCR because their songs are simple, catchy, and the leads are always great. Plus I know all the words to their songs so I can sing along.

I already know Down on the Corner, Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, and probably a couple other ones...and I really wanna learn Locomotion for sure. Anyone got any CCR songs they'd think would do me good to learn?

Ramble Tamble, I love that song. Green River, Up Around the Bend, and Badmoon Rising are good ones too.

Now wouldn't it be odd if a song called Take it Easy wasn't mellow?

Up Around the Bend is a definite one, same with Green River. I'll learn the other ones too...just to make you happy.

You can seriously learn 10 CCR songs in about an hour. Learn "Lookin Out My Back Door", "Have You Ever Seen The Rain", "Up Around The Bend", and "Born On They Bayou". Plus learn "Cotton Fields" if you can get a good tab, or just figure it out.

thickasabrick 08-28-2005 07:40 PM

Alright, Regina has come to the ultimate slackness in terms of marijuana smoking...

The other night me and my friends went to Tim Hortons, and we were too lazy to walk anywhere to smoke up, and it was too windy, so we smoked up with the Tim Hortons door open to shield the wind. You'd think someone would say or do something, no one did. It's a freakin coffee shop and no cops even stopped us. We had like a five man circle for a few hours right outside Tim Hortons...it was wonderful.

Well I'm pretty sure I could figure out most of them by ear, but for some of them I may look up the tab to get the solo parts exact.
Everyone Loves that song and always mentions it to me when I where A Hendrix shirt. I hear the song soo much, I don't really like it anymore. Hendrix is way underplayed on the radio except for Purple Haze, Foxey Ladey, and maybe one or two others, which are all overplayed. Radio stations and people in general need to delve deeper into Hendrix's selsection; and this coming from someone who's heard just over one album!
I know how you feel. Like when someone says they love Hendrix, but can't name a song besides Purple Haze (not as bad as when they say their favorite Floyd song is we don't need no education.) The radio stations are bad too, thats why I'm glad my new car has satalite radio.

On the topic of CCR, whats everyones favorite song by them? Mines Have You Ever Seen The Rain.

McMurphy 08-28-2005 07:57 PM

"Lodi" is a good tune.

I play Green River whenever I online bowl; I online bowl for hours.

EDIT: Oh ****, wrong username.

I have always been a fan of Travelin Band. It just makes me want to pick up my guitar.

Broken Arrow 08-28-2005 09:05 PM

I really like the new Neil Young, I'll buy it.

I just bought that guitar world with Hendrix and Pink Floyd, should be a good read.

np-Neil Young -Far From Home

I really like the harmonica/horn section/slide guitar

guitar lead in Television's "Elevation" = guitar lead in Greg Kihn's "The Breakup Song" (or whatever it's called)

Also, the guitar in the entire Marquee Moon album is incredible.

Anyone ever heard of a band called Sly and the Family Stone?
