Pics aren't interesting, it's just some weird blister things that dried out and split open.

I got tested in March. Hurts like the dickens to get the test.

I should probably go in for another STD test, just to be on the safe side, seeing as I have a regular girlfriend now and I don't want to give her anything/get anything from her.

You think it hurts?

w0rd up, Beezy?

BenJammin 08-18-2009 02:38 PM

Not much. Playing bass. Dying of heat.

We're in the middle of a heat wave right now. It's 104 of your degrees, nearly 20% of that is added on by the humidity, too. It's pretty brutal. I hope this passes before I move into my new place, because otherwise, we're going to roast.

Wow, that's amazingly hot for Canada. I think it's only 117 degrees here right now, but the humidity is never above 15%.

Have you put the flats on your fretless yet?

fatbandit 08-18-2009 02:57 PM

USB. It isn't an amazing one or anything, just some Tascam I picked up cheap. I'm not really looking to get big into recording. Just be nice to jot things down in Cubase or whatever, and hear myself when I'm practicing - no amp at home.
Nice. They are incredible things. I have an M-Audio Fast Track Pro that worked great with my Windows computer, but it took a sh*t a while ago and M-Audio hasn't made linux-compatible drivers for it, so I'm unable to record until I either get a new computer or get a new USB/Firewire audio device.

Is yours USB or Firewire?
Yeah, it's really not the heat, per say, as it is the humidity level. It's supposed to be like this for a few days yet.

What, having something shoved up my urethra?

Nah, I have to control the giggles.

I hear ya. I don't need the 10-track mixer thing like my buddy has, but anything that works would be nice.

Is this the one you have? Because it's compatible with linux and it's the one I was looking to get:

Are those XLR inputs in the front?

I have a couple piercings down there...I feel invincible.

I've never had it shoved down to uncomfortable levels, and it was pretty small, so it was more discomfort than anything. Maybe I got lucky, maybe the doctor sucked and didn't do his job properly.

Really? Honestly that is the last place I would consider for a piercing.

You say that now, but the first time you see the look on the girl's face when you're working your mojo, you realize that it was alll worth it. :naughty:

BenJammin 08-18-2009 04:50 PM

I don't need to compensate for my bedroom performance by putting things in my junk.

This is coming from someone with 4 piercings, and planning a tattoo, but people's junk just shouldn't have metal shoved through it.

fatbandit 08-18-2009 04:52 PM

Yeah, its that exact Tascam. Not really looked into what it can do entirely yet - its just sitting on the desk in front of me. But yeah, it has 2 XLR/mic level inputs and two line level/guitar inputs.

I've just taken everything out of my 3u case and put it in a new 4u case. God, I hate cage nuts. Kinda therapeutic taking everything out and then putting it back in. Sad as it is, I'm really looking forward to giving my pedalboard the same treatment.

However, I've discovered the joys of using zipties for keeping all my cables wrapped up and in the back of the rack. I purchased a rackmounted 4-way and stuck that in. Having 1 trailing plug cable from the back to power my rack and pedalboard >>>>> having 4 separate ones like I have had up until now.

I also now have a rackmounted plectrum holder.

FunkMetalBass 08-18-2009 04:59 PM

Anybody know if you can order SX basses directly from SX? When I sell my Fender, I was going to order an SX jazz (so that I still have a jazz, should a session gig require it) but I'll be able to pay some bills as well. I also notice that they still make the Stingray copies in 5-string models, and I wouldn't know where to find one in the U.S.

As do I. They always seem to turn awkwardly so that the one directly next to it is extremely difficult to get the bolt through.

Rackmounted pick holder? I'd like to see that. Also, Fatty, what's your band's name again?

fatbandit 08-18-2009 05:03 PM

cage nuts can seriously go and die though. i spent about half an hour trying to remove them from where the guy i bought the case off left them in, and then just as long trying to get them all back into the places i needed them in oewhtiauwehfoyeg oudygousdtvgfasdv

Excellent man, glad you enjoyed it. Now download the remaining 94 tracks from my back catalogue

ps. I've only ever watched a half a Hitchcock film; the first half of the one with the dude in the wheelchair who's a pervert

FunkMetalBass 08-19-2009 09:30 AM

Should I trade my Carvin LB76 for a Dean Edge Pro 5-string? I'm just not digging the Carvin tone, I'm not a fan of the 34" scale, and I could always use a 5-string in my collection.

Anyone ever played the Edge Pro that can comment on its tone? I like my bass tone to be more on the aggressive/ballsy side.

Eff it - I'm starting a thread about this.

BenJammin 08-19-2009 09:40 AM

Why don't you just stop buying/trading equipment, sell some off, and help pay down your debt?

gaslight 08-19-2009 09:41 AM

Tough but true.

fatbandit 08-19-2009 09:42 AM

This.

If you don't have the money for something, don't buy it. Number 1 rule in avoiding debt.

FunkMetalBass 08-19-2009 09:54 AM
Why don't you just stop buying/trading equipment, sell some off, and help pay down your debt?
It's been on sale for a while now with no biters. My thought process behind the trade is that, if I don't like it, people will be more willing to buy a 5-string than the 6-string.

And with the sale of that amp plus a nice bonus at work (on top of the ridiculous overtime I've been working lately), the debt problem is now very small.

EDIT: I saw the same Carvin LB76 on sale for 6 months on my local craigslist and it wouldn't sell for $450.

Not that anyone cares, but I finished a new track. Although I'll use that word loosely. It's am ambient piece for strings. Recorded early this morning (2am-ish). It is what it is. Not meant to 'go anywhere' or whatever.

I appreciate the fact that you allow mp3 downloads of your stuff.

EDIT:
I feel like I'm in a slow-motion underwater scene. I liked it.
