Oh my, that is not just Christianity, that is ****ing immoral, I don't care about Gay Marriage, but a lot of people do, some who aren't even Christian. I care about ****ing abortion, people lie to themselves constantly, "It's not a person, it's a bunch of cells that was concieved that if given time will become a person, but if it isn't a person yet, then it isn't murder," that's basically like saying if the baby isn't born, it wouldn't have existed, and that's bull****.
The dictionary defines life as beginning at birth. The Catholic dictionary defines life as beginning at conception. That's not a Christian influence? Abortion isn't murder. Outlawing it could be.

1. Zepfan beat me to my first point

2. Either way, outlawing abortion will have the same effect Prohibition did on alcohol abuse, or the "War on Drugs" has had on drug use.

Read: It won't stop a damn thing.

As long as women are getting pregnant when they don't want to--which will be til the end of time--they will get abortions. And it's better that licensed doctors do it with the correct tools and anesthetic instead of some back-alley whackjob with a hanger.

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 12:51 AM

SonorKen 04-30-2005 12:59 AM

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 01:00 AM

CRIT, IT'S CHEESEY POWER METAL ABOUT TERRY BROOKS!

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:02 AM

Is that your band 11teen? And yea, were gonna do some Tool songs.

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 01:03 AM

Oh...Tool? Pfffftttttt!!!!

If we do some good music I'll participate :p

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:03 AM

Just cus your not talented enough to play it doesnt mean you have to dis it!

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 01:05 AM

Carey is a good drummer. But as I would be playing guitar...pfft.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:08 AM

hahaha yea, well, Adams guitar lines are beautiful, the perfect example of how sometimes less is more. He plays where it counts and lets the music come through.

I guess the line up is Kage on vox, AdamJonesisGod on guitar, The Joz on bass, and me bangin the skins.

And Carey is a phenominal drummer. The **** he does blows me away and Ive probably been playing drums longer than youve been alive haha.
Is that your band 11teen? And yea, were gonna do some Tool songs.
nah, it's just me alone, they would not OK something that ridiculous, we play more light hearted stuff, except for a few of our heavier songs.

Ehhh. Either way I think we can agree it's not too difficult :p

Really? Over 19 years? That's insane. He is very good though. As is the guy in Messhugah heh.

Meshugga's drummer is fecking nuts!

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:18 AM

Oh yea, Thomas Haake is a monster. It was cool going to a show and seeing Carey and Haake both play.

Best drummer I saw live was David Silveria :upset:
False reality, inspiring our deepest lamentations
A plague to thought, a lack of inspiration
A union of mind, body, heart, and soul
In self redemption on may become whole
In westbound darkness, death will rise
A doom in blood is one's prize
Never more than a whisper in the dark
No coward will dare to step from the dark

A knave that trails, tredding dark into the deep
A beast that revels in pain that sucks away sleep
Like wet ash it stalks one's mind in the late
A hidden demon, a symbol of hate
The threads of existance intertwine
Yet foolish assumptions, doom that of thine
The reaper, the death, a peril to quest
The all powerful touch, a peril to quest

Upon the end, the chapter of last
The shadow emerges from dreams of past
In the bloodfire, red scorched earth
The one with the union shall prove worth
Always doubt clouds one's mind
And always the failure is forced to bind
The demon can be vanquished, but only through belief
The dark can be purged, if only you hold to a belief

******

Heh, I feel so nerdy and cheesey, but this song is basically what I interpretted out of The Elfstones Of Shannarra by Terry Brooks, so bah.
Ok, couple of questions.

In line two, "A plague to thought, a lack of inspiration". Is that meaning that you feel you are a plague to your own thoughts or that Brooks is a plague to your thoughts?

In self redemption on may become whole
Is it supposed to be, In self-redemtion one may become whole?

Hmmm well man, no offense, I don't really like it. It seems over written and doesnt flow well. But, I guess since its death metal, structure doesnt really matter haha.

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 01:28 AM

Best drummer I saw live was probably the guy playing for Santana. In the middle of his solo, he goes just double bass...like...a good paced rumble. Puts his sticks down, wipes his forhead with a towel, drinks a gatorade, picks his sticks back up and finishes the solo. Basically the fact he could do all this whilst keeping a perfect double bass beat astounded me. His solo was excellent too though.

yes, it is supposed to be one, not on.

And the plague/inspiration thing is about the character Wil not believing in himself, and the flow is a pause in the middle of the line. It's power metal with harsh vocals, so yeah, lol.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:33 AM

hahaha yea, ya know Santana isnt going to have a crappy drummer! It was probably Micheal Shrieve, he is a killer drummer.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:35 AM

I would probably re-write it. It seems like one of those songs that people write and try to sound intellectual and add in words that don't fit. Sometimes the most simple lyrics are the ones that really make a song shine.

i am the robots 04-30-2005 01:36 AM

I am out, gnite all, it's ****ing 3:30, I need sleep!

BoboTheRagingHobo 04-30-2005 01:40 AM

Best drummer I have seen live is Flo Mounier, yea, he's killer...

Oh wait, I didn't get to go to that show.

Best drummer that I have seen live must be Dave Lombardo from Slayer.

I would love to see Hellhammer or Tomás Corn live...but I doubt that is going to happen.

So I actually went to go research it (I'm bored) and it's actually this guy:

If you haven't heard of him, I'd watch some of his vids, they're killer heh.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 01:57 AM

Dennis Chambers was playing in that show? I guess I was thinking about Santanas shows several years ago, back in the mid 90's.

Well, you need not to introduce me to Dennis Chambers playing, he is one of my favorites, probably one of the top 10 drummers out there!

Well then I must say I was truly privileged lol. He was very phenomenal.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 02:02 AM

Yea, Chambers is the **** man, your lucky to have been able to see him. I would LOVE to see Chambers with Santana, I love Santana.

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 02:29 AM

Haha, I do too. Luckily my parents took me. I even got good seats :D

He has a great live show, if you have the chance to see him I recommend doing so.

SonorKen 04-30-2005 02:45 AM

Man, I would love too. I have some concerts lined up this year. Im going to see the Crue in August and U2 in November.

Permanent Solution 04-30-2005 02:49 AM

Ah, my parents just saw U2 this month. They see a lot of concerts haha. I'm planning on going to 3 this month if I find the money, should be rockin. Those are more expensive than the shows I see though :p

SonorKen 04-30-2005 02:56 AM

Man, U2 is rock and roll history, they are a GREAT band. Everyone should make an effort to see them. If they are not your genre of music, you should still see them as a music lover in general.

Bartender 04-30-2005 04:57 AM

I don't like U2. Not because of being outside a genre I listen to or anything, they're just..not any good. Dennis Chambers is an excellent drummer though.
