pate 12-10-2007 09:53 PM

I'm going tobe seeing them too.

Yes, KotGE is excellent. Not on par with Nightfall or Epicus, but if you were thinking it would be you're a ****ing tool. Rob doesn't sound like Rob though, which threw me.

Also, don't listen to what Tyler will say about how Rob sounds.

FatalEnergy 12-10-2007 09:58 PM

Alright, sounds cool. I figured it wouldn't be much like that era. I like the selftitled though a lot, does it compare or is it entirely different without Messiah?

pate 12-10-2007 10:00 PM

It's way better than the s/t, but I only like 3 songs from s/t.

rattlehead42147 12-10-2007 10:01 PM
Which Solitude Aeturnus album?

...I still need to check those guys out. >_<
Probably Into the Depths of Sorrow, but i wouldn't mind a recommendation from pate seeing as they're his favorite band.

pate 12-10-2007 10:06 PM

Into teh Depths of Sorrow
Beyond the Crimson Horizon
Through the Darkest Hour

Get them all and begin worshipping.

Txus 12-10-2007 10:15 PM

stfu pate

Kage 12-10-2007 10:52 PM

Queen Elephantine's new tune is amazing. The keeps getting better.

FatalEnergy 12-10-2007 10:54 PM

They are worthy of worship though. Especially the first one.

Txus 12-10-2007 10:55 PM

Kage: Yeah, it sounds pretty good.

FATAL: Niiice WG avatar dude.

FatalEnergy 12-10-2007 10:56 PM

Been listening to WG all day.

Txus 12-10-2007 11:08 PM

I was listening to Friends of Hell yesterday :)

FatalEnergy 12-10-2007 11:11 PM

All their stuff is great.

Best cover art ever too.

Jondur 12-11-2007 03:12 AM

Goodies in the post this morning included:

Lamp of Thoth - Cauldron of Witchery
Tales of Medusa - Legions of Medusa
Pagan Altar - Mythical and Magical
Pagan Altar - Volume 1 CD

Incidently Pagan Altar have just lost their drummer. Hopefully this situation should be jondurred... I mean... sorted in the next few weeks.

FatalEnergy 12-11-2007 03:34 AM

Listening to Reverend Bizarre's cover of Dunkelheit. It's great.

  Good luck to you!

gmoneyguy 12-11-2007 09:29 AM

KotGI took a few listens for me to appreciate it.

Iron Bars 12-11-2007 10:30 AM

It's a great album, I really think they found a good vocalist to fit the songs.

pate 12-11-2007 10:42 AM

Well he's the best singer in the world, so of course! :p

Iron Bars 12-11-2007 10:47 AM

Not counting the guy from Wrath of Ragnarok ofcourse :chug:, I wish he was higher in the mix though.

gmoneyguy 12-11-2007 10:56 AM

I'm quite partial to Messiah, tbh.

pate 12-11-2007 10:58 AM

The WoR guy or Rob Lowe? @IB

Messiah is fantastic, but I prefer Johan to him. Unsure where rob Lowe fits in that (with Candlemass) yet.

My girlfriend and I are opening some presents tonight. She got me the new Candlemass DVD, so I'm excited, even though I've already seen it.

Txus 12-11-2007 11:07 AM

Documents of Doom is ****ing great, I loved it...my dvd >>> yours pate :p

Anyway, Trouble is fantastic :)

I glad you don't know where I live, because both could answers could go the wrong way.

Rob of course.

pate 12-11-2007 11:44 AM

 I figured.

The Anniversary DVD is good ****.

And it's about time you worship Trouble.

Txus 12-11-2007 11:46 AM

Srsly dude, I'm gonna listen to Run To The Light later today :)

pate 12-11-2007 12:34 PM

You need to hear Psalm 9.

Dargon 12-11-2007 12:55 PM

How is Tales of Medusa?

That would be ****ing amazing if you were Pagan Altar's drummer. I read an interview and they seem very very laid back, I bet you'd have no problem getting in.

I can't listen to Psalm 9 anymore due to the lyrics.

Pate, are you in Wrath of Ragnarok? If not the guy looks exactly like you.

ATM 12-11-2007 01:59 PM

Yea, that's him.

FatalEnergy 12-11-2007 02:10 PM

Psalm 9 is good one. I'll have to check out your band Pate. Doomy stuff I presume?

I'd like to do a Doomy project of some kind. I just finished my Black Metal demo yesterday, kind of excited about that.

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 04:53 PM

Pate writes some absolutely great riffs.

Do more growls.
Pate, are you in Wrath of Ragnarok? If not the guy looks exactly like you.
Haha yep that's me.

@Fatal: Yes, traditional doom

@ND: Thanks

NemesisDivina 12-11-2007 08:14 PM
which one of his albums did you get?
Deflagration.

\m/

Lyrics are great. Everything from Dungeons and Dragons to Lord of the Rings to... Iraq?

Txus 12-11-2007 10:45 PM

I have Pate's discrogpahy

Jondur 12-12-2007 03:54 AM
How is Tales of Medusa?
It's pretty good. There's a lot of buzz about them partly because they've only released 100 copies which they've given away to friends.
That would be ****ing amazing if you were Pagan Altar's drummer. I read an interview and they seem very very laid back, I bet you'd have no problem getting in.
I've never met them but Rich Walker from Solstice is playing second guitar and thats how I got an audition as I've known him for the best part of 10 years.

Apparently they're really fussy about drummers - I quote "They're looking for Bill Ward"!

Audition is on Sunday so wish me luck. Even if I don't get it at least I'll have played with Pagan Altar.

Iron Bars 12-12-2007 05:07 AM

Playing with Pagan Altar sounds like it would be fun, but demanding. Good luck Jondur, hope you get the job.

ATM 12-12-2007 08:44 AM

Hope it goes well, Jondur.

Txus 12-12-2007 09:18 AM

Good Luck, Jondur. That'll be awesome.

ATM 12-12-2007 09:19 AM

Well, I finally got around to downloading some My Dying Bride, Trouble, and Anathema.

FatalEnergy 12-12-2007 09:19 AM

Yeah, good luck. Killer band.
