I love each song on that cd. And they're all around 5-6 minutes so thats an added bonus.

Where Dead Angels Lie is one of the best songs ever. I nominated it as one of the best 100 songs but it didn't make it.
(It only got 2 votes) :(

Riva 11-23-2004 04:42 PM

So, yeah. It is raining quite heavily today. Quite heavily indeed. And I had to get up at 5.45 today, as that was when a work truck that needs access to my neighbours yard was meant to be arriving to tear down my fence. So I had to be up to make sure they didn't destroy to much. But of course, they don't want to work in the rain, which means I wasted my only sleep-in day away. :(

Silenius 11-23-2004 04:44 PM

That sucks :(

Per Ardua Ad Astra 11-23-2004 04:45 PM

Alright guys, check this stuff out.

Tell me what you think of the two songs up there. 'Where Dead Angels Lie' (Dissection cover) which is horribly mixed, but oh well and 'Far Beyond the Sun/Paradigm Shift' (Yngwie/Liquid Tension Experiment cover).

Where Dead Angels Lie sounded brilliant! :thumb:

I liked how there were no vocals so that I could scream along.

Awesome job! (by the way what do you play?)

Silenius 11-23-2004 04:57 PM

I wish I had a band, but all the musicians that I know are into different styles of music. :(

(I have recorded the song Retribution before though on all instruments and vocals, except I forced my friend to do the drumming because I suck at double peddles.)

Per Ardua Ad Astra 11-23-2004 04:58 PM

Lead guitar, i'm planning on adding vocals to Where Dead Angels Lie when i get a chance, though my vocal skills are mediocre at best.

Thanks for the compliment.

Arucard 11-23-2004 04:59 PM

yeh, they both sounded abostlotly great

/EDIT : rep ++

Silenius 11-23-2004 05:03 PM

I'd rep++ you if I could.
Anyone who can rep seriously should rep Per Ardua Ad Astra. Those two songs where great.

Arucard 11-23-2004 05:05 PM

yep, ill get the unholy confessions cover up so you guys can crit my guitar playing and screaming.

Silenius 11-23-2004 05:07 PM

If I could figure out how to record onto my **** computer you guys could hear me play:
Silent Night Bodom Night
Bed of Razors
Hans Siste Vinter
A Fine Day to Die
I am the Black Wizards
Retribution
Plus my own twisted inventions.

Silenius 11-23-2004 05:09 PM

/goes and plays guitar, back in a little bit.

Arucard 11-23-2004 05:09 PM

your a bassist?

Silenius 11-23-2004 05:22 PM

I can play bass, electric guitar, a little bit of drums, and synths.

Riva 11-24-2004 12:45 AM

I play guitar and sing. Yay for me. :p

Cipher Hour 11-24-2004 12:46 AM

I sing and play bass. My band is still searching for a rhythm guitarist...woe is me. :upset:

Kingofdudes 11-24-2004 12:46 AM

I cant sing....... but I play guitar :)

gmoneyguy 11-24-2004 12:47 AM

I could sing, but my rythym on guitar goes off so I don't bother with it.

Riva 11-24-2004 12:49 AM

I find I hold rhythm better when I do sing.

I found that happened to me a lot when I tried to play some cool bass parts and sing at the same time (I'm the lead singer). I decided I'd leave the bass playing to another friend of mine who's been playing bass way longer then I have. Since I've just stuck to singing my voice has really improved. Now if only I can find a **** guitarist who doesn't suck and lives somewhere close. Then I'll be set. :thumb:

I can't split my attention liek that, I should practice it though.

I play tons of air guitar at home, while singing along to the songs on my comp. It really helps. I was doing it just before. :p

Cain 11-24-2004 01:53 AM

I play guitar, and I practice for what must be about three hours every day. I'm obsessed: it's a wonder I get any work done.

coddingtown 11-24-2004 02:04 AM

I play bass and I cant sing with it unless I root note. The song that helped me learn to sing and play guitar was Maynards Dick. I sang and played along with the computer as well :)

Riva 11-24-2004 05:08 AM

So, I was thinking today, in terms of music, I wish I was born in the sixties.

However, in terms of living/technology, I'm glad I was born now.

Bartender 11-24-2004 05:42 AM

Why?

I always figured I prefer being born when I was, because this way I can go and listen to all the stuff that came out in the '60s, and yet still have thirty-odd more years of music as well.

Riva 11-24-2004 05:48 AM

Well, I can listen to the music, sure. But in terms of tours, I would be mid teens for Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zep and Black Sabbath's prime, and in my twenties for Judas Priest, Manowar, Metallica and the Thrash scene in the '80s.

Done.

I will get Storm... today.

Silenius 11-24-2004 10:47 AM

Try to get the one that has both Storm of the Lights Bane and Where Dead Angels Lie on it. It's a reissue, and it kicks arse. :thumb:

Yea, I feel the same way. I hate being born in 1990 :(
