Lord Abortion 12-13-2004 09:48 AM

steve singing is cool
but is he better than H?

rik 12-13-2004 09:52 AM
steve singing is cool

In my opinion, singing is the one thing Steve isn't to cool at.

Thunder Fingers 12-13-2004 09:52 AM
steve singing is cool

Nop.. listen to reach out...

i was talkin about Blaze :p

ashman 12-13-2004 09:58 AM

H is probably the 3rd best singer Maiden have ever had. 4th is Nicko :p

supreme maidenite 12-13-2004 11:53 AM

steve harris is a music god - he wrote most of maidens best stuff

ashman 12-13-2004 12:01 PM

Steve is indeed a music god, he makes most musicians look like chimps with instruments.

supreme maidenite 12-13-2004 12:12 PM

everyone who i jam with think flea from chilli peppers is the best bassist ever but he jst does this slap thing, but steve harris i reckon is the best bassist by a long stretch - phantom of the opera and innocent exile have kick *** bass bits from steve (jst a few)

Thunder Fingers 12-13-2004 12:47 PM

Flea is good, hes one of few who actually doesnt play root notes..(everybodys yelling about the root notes, but everybody does it..)

But steve is my ultimate Bass God.. followed by Geddy Lee and Jari Kainulainen...

Arucard 12-13-2004 01:00 PM

very true. (geddy lee being joint with him.)

Thunder Fingers 12-13-2004 01:09 PM
very true. (geddy lee being joint with him.)
i hope you didnt mean geddy lee is joint with flea?

geddy lee outruns Flea on almost everypart.. exept slapping since geddy cant slap...

Arucard 12-13-2004 01:10 PM

i mean geddy is level with steve.

GurS 12-13-2004 02:33 PM

best bassist IMO is Les Claypool. There are plenty better bassists than Steve out there (Claypool, Stanly Clarke, BassMan Billy Evans) but Steve is the best rock/metal bassist.

ashman 12-13-2004 02:36 PM

But Steve rules...

YDload 12-13-2004 04:20 PM

Steve is probably the best "heavy metal" bassist; anyone more talented than him is usually a jazz/fusion or prog player.

Riva 12-13-2004 05:09 PM

Well, I do think Steve is one of the better bassists in Heavy Metal. For me, only Lemmy comes close to Steve.

Unfortunately, this doesn't include those bastard prog/jazz players

GurS 12-13-2004 05:12 PM

So, I finally got round to watching Early Days.

I don't like what davey does in "rainbow" on killers - i much prefer the harmonic slide.

Hence:

Maiden England Killers > Rainbow Killers

and Riva pwnz

Riva 12-13-2004 05:14 PM

Did you check your CP, Gurs? :)

Are you telling me you did all that early info without having watched the Early Days DVD?

GurS 12-13-2004 05:20 PM
Did you check your CP, Gurs? :)

Yes, and yes.

I knew all the info from when I first got into Maiden, I just read up what I could about Maiden and it all kinda got stuck there.

You know what's really good? 12 Wasted Years. I haven't seen the documentary on Early Days yet, so I don't know how similar it is, but 12 Wasted Years is **** fine.

Riva 12-13-2004 05:22 PM

Awesome. Now I have started my Amazon ordering days, I may just order some Maiden DVDs as well. :)

GurS 12-13-2004 05:29 PM

make sure to get maiden england, probably my favourite live gig.
