Bordello 01-19-2008 12:22 AM

Yeah they are.

Been jamming some Off Minor and Joshua Fit for Battle. About to listen to some Heaven in Her Arms.

RunAmokRampant 01-19-2008 12:38 AM

Listening to Sed Non Satiata atm. awesome stuff.

Bordello 01-19-2008 12:40 AM

This Heaven in Her Arms album is way overproduced. If they would just back off the loudness and clean sound it would be way better. Drums are kind of annoying too.

iarescientists 01-19-2008 12:56 AM

i can't get into joshua fit for battle

Bordello 01-19-2008 01:02 AM

They rule why not.

iarescientists 01-19-2008 01:03 AM

nothing about them stands out to me

iarescientists 01-19-2008 01:06 AM

i think i held my ground

i am the robots 01-19-2008 03:24 AM

You And I is alright.

i am the robots 01-19-2008 04:21 AM

saetia's bassist recorded my best friend's band, and apparently like the only thing he does is prank call malefic

whiteminority 01-19-2008 04:23 AM
no dude band sucks.

And listening to One Eyed God Prophecy, they sound pretty decent but I don't know about amazing.
Are you shitting me? The Toddler LP is one of the most destructive/devastating hardcore albums of the 90s. They helped lay the groundwork for all those great bands like Orchid, Ampere et al. To say that band is pretty decent is sign of ignorance because any educated punk can tell the strength of that band and their influence.

i am the robots 01-19-2008 04:29 AM

Actually, Will says that Union Of Uranus was his main influence, or I think that's what I've read.

Txus 01-19-2008 07:56 AM
I had a recent revelation that the best emo band is probably You and I.
Not the best, but still very up in the list.

I ****ing love the song "Forever Lasts a Moment".

LifeInABox 01-19-2008 09:12 AM

You and I is pretty good. They kind of remind me of like The Khayembii Communique in that I don't get all the praise though.

Uranus and OEGP are considered to be the main influences on Orchid, though in interviews the band did Will mentioned most the German "metal" (I put that in "" because I have not heard these bands as they hopelessly obscure, and going on Orchid's sound I can't quite picture metal being much of an influence) bands Systral and Carol.

Doop 01-20-2008 02:38 PM

Systral are amazing and I can see their influence in Orchids sound. I still need to hear Carol but I haven't been able to find any.

My old band was hugely influenced by He Is Legend:
