Time to put the gulf coast on the map:
Knuckle Scraper(punk as hell spazz worship. that kicks spazz's ***) Weak Minds (heaviest **** ever, seriously the 7' did not leave my record playyer for the first month i had it) 50/50 Hatred Surge Time To Destroy(Pv hailing from mobile, alabama. so ****ing good) Insect Warfare Severe Discomfort Also i noticed people arguing over what power violence is or isnt, and seriously who gives a **** if this **** is or isnt pv. Its influenced by neanderthal, mitb, crossed out, infest, no comment, dropdead which are some goodass bands to be influenced by. That being said, i saw the Eric Woods quote "power violence is dead...cancer" dropped. He also said that The Endless Blockade was one of the only true pv bands currently around, and i suggest you check them out. Its ****ing sick grind/sludge type stuff, with some fun punk riffs. Also mudlark is so ****ing good. |
You're a good dude.

So what part of the country is everyone from? Any good local stuff going down?
I'm from east Tennessee, and there ain't too much pv wise going on, I have a band that's trying to do that style but not get bogged down in one corner, we're called mujahideen, we don't have any real songs recorded right now but you can check us here: http://www.myspace.com/mekhc otherwise in the area there is Legion from Birmingham and then in Florida there are some cool bands like Time to Die and Republicorpse. |
How the **** do you "burn out" Dropdead??????

anyone into gasp?
f'uck yes. Way too underrated. Elements of powerviolence etc. but a lot of experimentation too. http://www.myspace.com/silkorbita |
GASP is the ****, one of my favourite that come off power violence.
been jamming to Drome Triler Of Puzzle Zoo People non stop. http://kicktokill.blogspot.com/2009/05/gasp-drome-triler-of-puzzle-zoo-people.html |
k so i just got some weekend nachos and and all of dropdead
so far weekend nachos is soo good. any others i should be aware of?
Extortion as mathjic has already said. Other bands to be aware of: Deadstare ACxDC Bad Acid Trip No Dice California Love Godstomper Haymaker (close enough) Kent Brockman Max Ward Monster X No Comment Crossed Out And listen to Head on a Stick just because I told you to. Thank me later, brah. |
How the **** do you "burn out" Dropdead??????
The best thing put out by that band is the first 2 eps, and alot of the songs sound the same. The lyrical value is really where dropdead shines. |
Extortion is really good.
If you get weekend Nachos what you really want is the Torture 7' Also, i havent been able to find any Gasp but ive wanted to check that band out for awhile, could anyone upload it? |
