the way i see it, is that the first few days/ maybe week will be the worst. I didn't eat or sleep for two days straight, had trouble focusing on school work, and had a splitting headache. it hit me so hard that i got physically sick. but just like ripping off a bandaid, it only hurts for a second on the grand scale of things.

oh yeah, dave. i've been listning a crapload of STD lately. them and small brown bike.
i doubt it. trust me man... you vent. i had a good friend help guide me through it every step of the way. she even let me come go up to her college and crash there for the night to get me out of my house and to talk about it. I never, never, NEVER party, but we all got obliterated together and it was a really good time. one of the ****tiest weeks of my life was made all better by getting out and talking to people that matter to me.... and completely forgetting about it for a few hours :chug:

the drive there and back gave me a lot of time to think too.
Good stuff.

Just being around others eliminates that time alone where all you have is time and what if's floating through your head.

Funny how one's own mind can be ones enemy at times.

deffinately. People have different ways of coping i guess. i've had about 5 band practices(listning to and playing music always makes me feel great) since ith appened and i've been really giving that my all right now. they've been great practices too. the kind when you get the "runners high" when you're done because you're so pumped. i've also been focusing really hard on my school work. keeping busy is my thing.

hah. i'm not too keen on their "can't slow down" album, but it's growing on me. i prefer their more melodic stuff to their punky stuff.

ebe9 09-28-2006 01:27 PM

I was given the nickname DV at varsity, and people used to have a bit of fun calling me VD.

He-fucking-larious

Sound the Alarm is a really good album, as is Stay What You Are.

I r ace!

I scored me an A on my photography project and I start shooting a music video tomorrow!

I love college!

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 01:33 PM

yeah those two albums are really great. cant slow down is alright, but it's growing on me, and i just got "through being cool." i'm listning to it right now.

DaveSavesTheDay 09-28-2006 01:34 PM

I've missed 3 days of school in under a month (to put that into perspective, I missed 6 all of last year) and my average is 20% higher :)

I r ace.

Brb, food.

It sounds really dodgy but it makes a fantastic snack.

- Peanuts
- Pickles
- Cheese

Munch all 3 at the same time, delicious.

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 01:40 PM

i'm hoping the peanuts are dry roasted. then it might be good.

DaveSavesTheDay 09-28-2006 01:41 PM

Heh, I really can't imagine breaking up with my girlfriend. We work together, and we're always together, but it's never even enough.

I think I'd actually shun myself out from the world for a few days if it ever does happen, not that I wan't it to.

I mean, we talk for hours every night on the phone, I see her everyday and we're really starting to be affectionate in public, which was a problem at first. Oh, and I'm taking her to James Blunt on Monday :) 3rd row, too :smoke:

But of course.

Its just such a great mingling of flavours and the only dodgy mix I eat.

Get a toothpick. Shove a miniature, canned hotdog on it, shove a pickle on there and some cheese.

Delicious.

best of luck with you man. i also had the same job as my girlfriend for a while. We'd talk all night, and hang out almoost every day. the whole time we went out, i never went a day without speaking to her. If it ever does end, that really sucks, but enjoy every moment you have, really.

edit: to the other post, not the one about hte hotdogs.

ebe9 09-28-2006 01:46 PM

Well I need to go have some me time considering my fiance is on the other side of the world. :upset:

Catch you all later

dave: she totally broke up with me out of the blue. It seriously came out of left field. we were hanging out on a saturday and everything was fine, then on monday she tells me that she's been contemplating it for a while or so, saying that she can't see herself with me in the future. She said it killed her to do it, but it wasn't fair to me that she didn't feel the same way i did. I totally respect it though. i would rather her be honest with me than hide what she was really feeling. after a relationship gets that long, the only thing you want is for the other person to be happy. The downside is that she'd be happier without me, so i'll have to deal with if it's what she really wants. she wants to be good friends still, but i told her it will take a long time. she was my first everything, i more or less came into highschool as a freshman met her, asked her out a few months later, and it finally ended now, a freshman in college.

You seem to be dealing with it very well, if it means anything. I'm sorry to hear that though, it really sucks <3

-Dave

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 01:59 PM

yeah it really sucks, but the times we had together were great so i'm not going to beat myself up over it. she told me that it wasn't my fault or anything like that, just the whole "we're growing up, and i need space" deal. if it was my fault somehow, i'd probably still be miserable because it would have been under my control and able to be fixed by me. but, it's not my fault, so i'm glad we had the amount of time we did. It deffinately made me a better person.

mastrrbasser 09-28-2006 02:19 PM

i'm out, later.

The pawning hats?

The Brad 09-28-2006 02:37 PM

It's a simple way of life, appealing to some not so to others.
They don't have to be Amish, in most tribes it is customary to allow them a trial period some time between 17-20 years of age to try out modern life against their Amish life. If they would rather be part of modern American culture they are allowed to leave, and it is not really a scornful thing. It's just sort of like a trial of temptation from what I understand.

Very true.

But I still like my hat idea.

Jimbobntnr 09-28-2006 02:42 PM

yeah, I think Brad is confused. I'm going with the hats.

Spaceman Spiff 09-28-2006 02:42 PM

Psh...

It's pointless, no matter what anyone says.

I'm Jewish, I could have an awesome hat if I wanted one. I'm just not big on hats... I guess it's because I have all my hair, not bald like some old man.

The Brad 09-28-2006 02:44 PM

I'm sorry, I researched them once. -_-
I prefer the beards to the hats, sorry.
I think it is definitely the only rite of passage we as Americans have.

bottlerocket 09-28-2006 02:47 PM

I just got the best inspiration about my next song:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_90
There were 74 passengers (including 3 infants) and 5 crew members on board. All but 5 of the occupants of the plane died.
Also:
Pilot: "Forward, forward. Easy. We only want 500 (feet per minute)."

Pilot: "Come on - forward. Just barely climb."

Pilot: "Stalling, we're falling!"

Co-Pilot: "Larry, we're going down Larry!"

Pilot: "I know it!"

(Sound of impact, end of tape.)
I want that part to be the end of the song. It's gonna be an acoustic song...now, if only I could write it. :(

-Gav

The Brad 09-28-2006 02:48 PM

The Pilot's first line reminds me of "Machine Screw"

Not everyone can pawn with a beard as you need to have the neanderthal in you to get a decent growth (I can't grow a beard for ****).

But hats...................anyone can pawn in a Abe Lincon hat.

Jimbobntnr 09-28-2006 02:52 PM

it's the hats.

The Brad 09-28-2006 02:53 PM

Well I think it's awesome that you are thought of as a lesser man if you cannot grow a beard by 14-15.

But their hats are just straw farmer hats... top hats or bowler caps would be awesome.
Interesting story about those bowler caps, they were only fasionable because men with gonorrhea/syphilis used to hide tools within their hats so they could clean their genitals in public restrooms.
