Probably my favorite is Cthulu Dawn...anyone else like this one?

Shadows 10-26-2005 07:03 PM

Cthulu Dawn is probably my favorite song off of Midian, all though the first six songs on that album are pure genious. Midian is most likely my favorite, but Ilove many CoF albums, ranging from Midian to Dusk and Nymphetamine to Damnation.
Hey is it true that dani inhales air when singing as opposed exhaling.
I truly doubt it. With the amount of force and volume he gets out, he'd easily damage his voice beyond repair by inhaling. He also holds screams longer than any human would be able to by inhaling.

So in short, no, he doesn't inhale. He screams.

Damn, these boys put on a killer show. I saw them last year on the Headbangers Ball tour with Arch Enemy. That made my day. :)

Sounds to me like Ollie is an attention whore. :p

Shadows 10-26-2005 07:08 PM
Hell yeah, but you have to listen to the end of at the gates of midian to link the two, like satyrisis and GC, the two songs link into each other too well
When I first heard the way At the Gates of Midian flows into Cthulu Dawn I had a musical orgasm. No joke.

It was a real  situation.

Pantellica 10-26-2005 07:22 PM

The new CD Nymphetamine has some very nice vocal tones, especially the low tones, dani is a a great vacalist. If you go to their website you can hear all the voices can do. its really great to hear this guy sing

asmodeusisgod 10-27-2005 11:32 AM

Dani sounds like he's freakin' possessed by a demon when he sings.

It's so awesome. That's the only CD that I have of them and I've only got a burned copy of it recently.

Guilded C*nt is so awesome and heavy.

nevermindemily 11-25-2005 12:38 AM
So are there still several people who want Vempire? I got it a while ago. It's quite good. I'll be willing to send it to whoever wants it.
is it good? i'm thinking of getting it later. that or nymphetmanine.

Shadows 11-25-2005 01:03 AM

It's good, but Nymphetamine is better.

I'd have sent it out, but my computer crashed and I lost all my music a while back. Sorry everyone. :(

Lord Abortion 11-26-2005 10:19 AM

Cradle live in...13 days...

The Elf 12-04-2005 05:54 AM

I saw Cradle of Filth at the UEA in Norwich n friday. they arent my favourite band, not by a long way, but i was surprised, they were really good. Good sound.
They played some good songs, opened with Guilded C***. They did play nymphetamine, but i was dissapointed it was only fix they did (i like overdose).

Their support (cathedral) was good too, their sound wasnt as clear, and the singer was scary tho (pretending to commit suicide etc)

but good :)

Lord Abortion 12-04-2005 03:03 PM

Nice, I hope they play a diffferent set from the last tour.

Shadows 12-04-2005 04:06 PM

I hope they hurry their asses up and finish recording the new album. Me is impatient.

ValeOfShadows 12-05-2005 05:18 AM

This band has a lot of talent and i think dani's vocals sound good. I think they suit the music.

Lord Abortion 12-05-2005 08:25 AM

Friday-Huzzah!

Lord Abortion 12-05-2005 08:32 AM

It's absolutely fantastic, I really really want them to play it.

Shadows 12-05-2005 03:33 PM

Probably my favorite CoF song of all time.

Lord Abortion 12-05-2005 06:43 PM

I just watched heavy, left handed and candid again...
I laugh evey time I hear Dani calling Adrian "eager little wet wizard drummer" before QOWT

Shadows 12-05-2005 06:44 PM

Is that a good DVD? A nearby store actually carries it, so I may buy it if it's good.

Lord Abortion 12-05-2005 06:49 PM

Do, the setlist is excellent, lord abortion opens it :D
and the documentry extra will make you have some sort of fits of laughter

Shadows 12-05-2005 06:53 PM

Sounds good. They look like a bunch with good English humour (lawl). I <3 Lord Abortion too. :)

Yeah, plenty of pissing around, mooning and lots of drinking, lots and lots of drinking.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 12:51 PM

Right just got back from an excellent show.

Cradle were incredible good.
I was front and centre throughout.

setlist was

Satyrisis
Guilded Caaaaaant!
Medusa and Hemlock
Babylon AD
Thank god for the suffering
Cthulhu Dawn
Desire in Violent Overture
Nymphetamine (fix:()
Born in a burial Gown
Her Ghost in the Fog
Ebony dressed for Sunset
Nocturnal Supremacy
Heaven Torn Asunder
From The cradle to enslave

First of all, surprising set, nearly completely different from the last, some great songs, but not as good a set as the last one in April.
The Band were excellent. Fully Stagecrafting, with angle grinders in the encore, Living gargoyles that looked awesome when they moved as Dani gestured after being still for 2 songs. And a huge demon thing on stilts, too...

The crowd screamed along, unfortunatly noticably more to the recent stuff  and I noticed I was the only one I could see who knew the words to half of it.

Best moments:
The rapturous Cthulhu Dawn, Desire in Violent Overture, and Heaven torn asunder (that riff )
the singalongs to Her Ghost, and Dani dedicating Babylon AD to "you lot down there at the front" :D

Low Points:
Mallcore Kids...
Medusa and Hemlock, and Thank God for the suffering...not the best tracks they could have chosen...

Wonderful Gig, Dani was perfect all throughout, he hits those notes as well live as he does studio-wise. Just more Mid-period stuff next time!

Support
Octavia were alright I suppose, and very pretty, had to borrow Cathedral's drummer and he was the best in the bad the vocals were unintelligable and no stage presence.

Cathedral were 'kin excellent. Great Stage precence, but Few songs due to a 10'oclock (!) curfew
They did
Ride, Corpsecycle and Hopkins, as well as a couple of others I didn't recognise.

All in all, brilliant, desire in violent overture, Cthulhu dawn and Her ghost were my personal faves, but they didn't put a foot wrong all night.
Pure excellence.

Shadows 12-10-2005 12:55 PM

That sounds amazing. The only drawback to the show I saw was all the mallcore kids and the lack of anything from Dusk. Sounds like your show kicked ***, with all the theatrical stuff. I would ****ing kill to see Cthulhu Dawn. :(

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 12:58 PM

Heaven Torn asunder is off Dusk... :D
Nocturnal supremacy was A huge shock, took me ages to work out what it was,as I haven't heard that song much

Cthulhu dawn was incredible

Shadows 12-10-2005 01:00 PM

I bet, that's one of my all-time favorite songs by them. But it's so much better when they play it after starting with At the Gates of Midian.

I <3 Dusk & Her Embrace. Yet they didn't play a single song from it last year. Any song would've been nice, as every single one on that album is amazing.

azbassman 12-10-2005 01:37 PM

now this is one band i would kill to see live....unfortuantley, i dont know when/if the come to my town/state

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 01:44 PM

I would suggest that it'll be after the next album they'll hit America.

Someone I talked to afterwards met Charles...and got his ticket signed, I considered mugging him. Aparently he said " the rest won't be out until the nightclubs close..."

I was really close to getting a stick of Adrian's... but he handed, yes HANDED one to the guy a little to the right and in front of me.
Lucky bastard

Shadows 12-10-2005 01:49 PM

I know the feeling. When I went to see Shadows Fall, Jason Bittner threw a stickl right to my friend next to me. Some guy grabbed it from him, but Jason saw it and gave my friend another stick.

No <3 for the man bearing their name every day. :(

azbassman 12-10-2005 01:54 PM

That setlist you posted earlier; the majority of it seemed to be off of three of there albums....i figured they would kinda spread it out more.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2005 02:49 PM

Well, out of 14 songs, there were 4 from the last album which is understandable, two from DAAD, two from midian, and one each from DAHE, and CATB, with the rest from Mini albums etc.

I suppose that they are wary of alienating the people who have supported them for a long time, but want to keep the new support that came into crale via the newer stuff.
It's a fine balance, which I think, given the last two sets, they got Correct.
search for the last tour setlist in here to see what I mean.

King_Of_Terrors 12-10-2005 03:39 PM

I've never seen this thread before.

azbassman 12-10-2005 03:47 PM

My favorite COF song would be either All hope in Eclipse or Tearing the Veil From Grace.

They were magnificent, and so were Cathedral.
