I've only heard the C&C song called "Welcome Home". It was very good.

YDload 08-27-2005 01:23 AM
Coheed gets 'booed' off the stage all the time, I think?
No, that sounds pretty ridiculous to me. I have a friend who's seen them live, seen live footage on MTV2, and they have a concert DVD out as well. Must be an awfully big conspiracy for all those people to pay money to see Coheed and then boo them, but cover up any memories or recordings of it!

But back on topic, Rush is awesome :)

Huber 08-27-2005 01:26 AM

What are Rush doing right now anyways?

Dread_rocker 08-27-2005 01:56 AM

Recording a new album in the Autumn for next year!

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 09:23 AM
Coheed and Cambria is a progressive pop-punk band. They have some really "out there" songs like The Crowing and 2113, but they also make really poppy three-minute songs for radio and MTV. They're not sellouts, that's just the range of what they like to write.
wtf

I wouldn't even call them pop-punk. Their music is much too sophisticated for that. I hear the new album has some insane solos too. Their vocalist is absurdly high, however, and I find it very hard to listen to them sometimes.

Xanadu 08-27-2005 09:48 AM

2113 what fags

bassplayer_barclay 08-27-2005 09:50 AM

Yes, and Geddy Lee sounds like a man?

Huber 08-27-2005 11:49 AM
Recording a new album in the Autumn for next year!
That is good news to me. Awesome.

dustyboy316 08-27-2005 12:02 PM
Yes, and Geddy Lee sounds like a man?
As much as I love Geddy, thats so true.

But if Rush is making an album, you knowwhat that means? A last tour

Kreator2112 08-27-2005 12:04 PM

haha coheed is one horrible band, you guys act like they have any talent in performing let alone guitar...

Cain 08-27-2005 12:07 PM
haha coheed is one horrible band, you guys act like they have any talent in performing let alone guitar...
Neg-repped for pointless flaming and failure to open your mind. Don't act like a moron.

Maggot Dream 08-27-2005 12:08 PM
But if Rush is making an album, you knowwhat that means? A last tour
Sounds good to me. They came to here a couple years back, but I never got a chance to see them. There's no way I'm missing them a second time.

Cain 08-27-2005 12:08 PM
2113 what fags
It's meant in tribute, obviously.

Kreator2112 08-27-2005 12:13 PM

i just have to say working man is my most favorite rush song, the solo is just unbelievable, what great song writters

Xanadu 08-27-2005 12:16 PM
It's meant in tribute, obviously.
i dont think coheed should tribute rush, they are not worthy

Jacaranda 08-27-2005 12:18 PM
i dont think coheed should tribute rush, they are not worthy
I don't think you should contribute to this thread, you are not worthy.
And Coheed are a great band. I think they will be the Rush of our generation, if you know what I mean.

Cain 08-27-2005 12:21 PM
i dont think coheed should tribute rush, they are not worthy
Sebastian Bach and Mark Slaughter aren't worthy either but they did it anyway. Who cares anyway? They're a talented band, not the best but if they're what it takes to get the average MTV-phile back into prog stuff than I'm all for their success. And the lead-guitarist/singer is VERY good at guitar. The new song on their website ends with a great solo.

Xanadu 08-27-2005 12:27 PM

dont think i should contribute to this thread ha
this is a rush thread, making fun of coheed should be no reason not to contribute. besides im a huge rush fan actually my favorite band so yeah

Xanadu 08-27-2005 12:28 PM

ok enough of this back to rush
please proceed

Anyone should pay their respect to their idols if they want.

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 01:14 PM

Anyone else think roll the Bones to be very average work? It's a few mellow albuim kind of. No tempo changes AT ALL... bland

Distant Echoes 08-27-2005 01:17 PM

I tried to wrn you...

I picked up Power Windows and Signals the other day online not expecting too much, but They were pretty good. pretty much most their albums between '82 and 00 sound the same, except Test for Echo and Roll the Bones aren't inpressive at all. Im defintaly buying the rest I dont have.

Maggot Dream 08-27-2005 03:03 PM

I agree, I think their older albums (Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, 2112, Rush, etc.) are far superior to the newer ones. They're not bad, just not as advanced as the others.

Cain 08-27-2005 03:37 PM

I love the crap out of "Signals." Digital Man and The Weapon have such great tones and sounds (and solos).

Maggot Dream 08-27-2005 06:11 PM

I agree with you on Digital Man, great song.

Out of curiosity, has anyone read any of Neil Peart's books?

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 08:01 PM

I would be intrested in them... but no.

What are his books about?

Petary791 08-27-2005 08:46 PM

Rush is probably one of the greatest prog bands ever.

Arrakakaka 08-27-2005 09:02 PM

My bass teacher is big on these guys, and I like them too.

BludgeonySteve 08-27-2005 09:02 PM
Rush is probably one of the greatest prog bands ever.
Probably? They are one of the best prog bands ever. No doubt about it.

Jacaranda 08-27-2005 09:08 PM

What happened to Alex Lifeson's drug(?) charges I vaguely remember him getting in trouble for something I think it was drugs about 2 years ago.

BludgeonySteve 08-27-2005 09:20 PM

I think that he got off with probation or something. Nobody would send such a good guitarist to jail :)

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 09:43 PM

That's a crime in itself

He was drunk and got rowdy on an airplane in flight. I think he verbally or physically assaulted a stewardess :(

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 10:29 PM

That's kinda odd. I don't associate Rush with the Rock and roll lifestyle at ALL

Maggot Dream 08-27-2005 11:04 PM
That's kinda odd. I don't associate Rush with the Rock and roll lifestyle at ALL
Considering that's about the only time anything happened like that with Rush, I wouldn't worry too much.
