CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:03 PM

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:04 PM
did anybody ever see that old Hellcat promo vid where Joe kept reffering to himself as "The OG of Punk"?
i read an interview where he is reffering to himself as "a living legend of punk rock" though.but he can say it, because it's true.no fake modesty

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:06 PM

AndreTheHyena 02-23-2005 11:13 PM

I don't care if they're lame or not. They're still my favorite band. Shucks, I haven't really listened to them in a long time.

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:13 PM
joe can say anything he wants and its true..to me joe is the defention punk rock
heh!you read my text and stole the principal idea. i wrote it for school.(here's a part of the text with a bad translation)

I was at a record store, and there were these two guys talking about how 'punk died with Sid Vicious' and that 'it was dead for good'.I thought to myself "Sid was all about 'looking good and being a junkie', pretty much everybody know that."

The good thing is that I started to think about the whole 'punk is dead' thing. What's punk anyway? For me, punk died december 22, 2002.The day Joe Strummer died.He always fought for his convictions, always cared more about the fans than the money, he sew politics and music together and he always played what he wanted to play.He always wanted things to change and acted to make this world a better place. He is an inspiration and a positive influence. And he was in the greatest band of all time. That's my perception of punk rock, whatever punk rock is.But when I say that punk died with him...it's the attitude...not the music.Cause when you think about it, music can't die.To someone, it can seems like punk died with Joey or Johnny Ramone...or even Sid...cause they were to them what Joe was to me.But there's something people need to understand...MUSIC CAN'T DIE.

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:14 PM

yea there a good band...are they going to tour anytime soon..they havent up dated there site in a almost a year..

andy: did you write that thing, if so thats really good, i agree with everything you just stated

AndreTheHyena 02-23-2005 11:15 PM
yea there a good band...are they going to tour anytime soon..they havent up dated there site in a almost a year..
They're on hiatus. There's another Transplants album coming out, Lars is touring with the Bastards, Matt is spending time with his new kid, and Brett is building hotrods.

paul wasnt that hot.he was hot with his hair like sid's hair, but when he cut them, he wasnt hot anymore.

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:18 PM
paul wasnt that hot.he was hot with his hair like sid's hair, but when he cut them, he wasnt hot anymore.
i dont guys attractive so you win this argument..lol

but my sister thinks paul and joe are hot but she said topper looks like a old crack addict, shes close

TheNowhereman42 02-23-2005 11:18 PM

to me punk died when Crass came out with uh..."Punk is Dead"

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:19 PM

i never liked crass..wasnt there conflict between crass and the clash

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:21 PM
i dont guys attractive so you win this argument..lol

maybe it's because i know what they look like right now (old and weird).maybe it's because i have way too much respect for them...but i dont think they're that hot.i don't really care.oh wait.joe is really hot on this black & white picture where he wears the "passion is a fashion" jacket.

Mick looked like a little puppy.now he looks like a pervert.
Topper always looked like an heroin addict and always will.

but who cares!they're the greatest guys ever.

TheNowhereman42 02-23-2005 11:23 PM
i never liked crass..wasnt there conflict between crass and the clash
yeah Crass always hated The Clash, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, a lot of the oldschool bands, because they were mostly sellouts and hipocrits, and were too worried about images and "punk credentials"

EDIT: They said that we were trash, but our name is Crass, not The Clash!

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:23 PM

haha, paul had a hot girl friend i saw a pic of her in that NME mag..is that who he married?

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:24 PM
i never liked crass..wasnt there conflict between crass and the clash
"they said that we were trash, well the name is crass, not clash"

somebody sent me a crass song, and this is some of the lyrics.i was...mad.

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:24 PM
yeah Crass always hated The Clash, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, a lot of the oldschool bands, because they were mostly sellouts and hipocrits, and were too worried about images and "punk credentials"
yea..uh..crass suck IMO they sounds like a marching band

TheNowhereman42 02-23-2005 11:26 PM

thats the drums.

I love Crass anyway, and frankly I don't really care whether they hate The Clash or not. Crass is mostly about the message though.

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:29 PM

i never listend to them but a couple of songs and it sounded like i was listing to my high school drum line with brittish rumbling in the background

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:32 PM

is there a thing you dont like about the clash or joe strummer?i mean their opinions or whatever...(not the album-that-must-not-be-named)

CombatRock 02-23-2005 11:34 PM

i really cant think of anything other than the fact that they were all skinny make me jelous but then it motivates me to lose weight! there really isnt anythign i dislike about them

AndreTheHyena 02-23-2005 11:36 PM

I like Crass, but I love the Clash.

TheNowhereman42 02-23-2005 11:36 PM

exactly, I don't find anything wrong with The Clash, I just happen to like Crass as well

Coma_Girl 02-23-2005 11:40 PM

there's only one thing i dont like about them.they were too perfect.so sometimes i feel like it was all a lie and that maybe they weren't so awesome and nice, and true and everything.but when i think more about it, i know they were really like what they seemed to be.

just look at Joe.his opinions were sometimes confused, but he really believed in them and it was the only thing that mattered.he was TRUE.he was so perfect.he wasnt a perfect person, no one is perfect, but his imperfections made him perfect.like the clash...if you understand what i mean.i'm kinda confused

TheNowhereman42 02-23-2005 11:41 PM

Do any of you have the Back to the Basics: Live at Hammersmith Station acoustic album? Its really really good

Coma_Girl 02-24-2005 04:03 PM

i was at the records store trying to find a clash shirt (??) with "long distance callers make long distance calls and the silence makes me lonely" written in the back.
