Parradiddle Pete 03-05-2005 04:45 AM

Hi, i'm looking for a sabian crash not to expensive but good for crash riding, preferably 18' or that kind of size. my current cymbals are sabian b8 and pro sonix also a little zbt splash. Thanx :thumb:

shadow_stalker 03-05-2005 05:01 AM

Try a Sabian AA, i think that they have a really nice sound to them.

Parradiddle Pete 03-05-2005 05:29 AM

thanx i'll go an have a look. i've seen the vault crashes theyre nice anyone know th price tag on one of them?

shadow_stalker 03-05-2005 06:56 AM

What country do you live in?

Parradiddle Pete 03-05-2005 07:13 AM

I'm in england. also btw i'm looking at max stax...ne gd?

bobby__johnny 03-05-2005 08:42 AM

not worth it. you an make your own for about $10~$20 and they sound very similar.

Music_is_life 03-05-2005 09:29 AM

I'm looking for a 16" crash to compliment my AA medium ride. I'd like something in the AA or AAX lines. Nothing very thin or very heavy with medium to long decay and a bright sound. I really like the AAX Dark crash and plan on buying one maybe in a few months after my new kit so somthing that would also work well with this. If you could suggest maybe 3 or 4 cymbals that would be great, i will try them out when i goto the store next week. Also, I will be needing to upgrade my hats soon as well. Currently i have no crash and **** hats, do you think i should get a crash first or upgrade my hats first? I hate not having a crash and i do have hats so to me it would seem more logical to get a crash... Opinions? For the hats I would like soemthing again in AA or AAX lines that is very a crisp and clear with a great "washy" open sound. Sorry for the long post and thanks for the help

Quick question: are the Vault series prices the same as the AA and AAX lines or the HH and HHX's?

Also, are the Vaults machine or hand made? Or a mix of both?

Thanks

Queen Anne's Revenge 03-05-2005 11:00 AM

Looking for a companion(s) to my 16" AA Medium Crash. Preferably Sabian.

i beleive they are priced intbetween the AA and Hand Hammered Lines. and as for how their made, i think they're hand made if i recall correctly.

try the same in an 18"....great crash you have there :thumb:

EBS77 03-05-2005 05:01 PM

I'm looking for a crash to use with my 17" AA medium thin, any brand.

bobby__johnny 03-05-2005 07:22 PM

19" AAX Stage Crash.

Music_is_life 03-05-2005 07:34 PM

I hate to be a pain but did you guys miss my post about 6 up? I know its a long one but a response would really be appreciated!

Plan B. 03-05-2005 07:48 PM

For a crash, check out AAX Stage, AA Medium/Medium Thins.

Also check out the AAX Stage hats.

Music_is_life 03-05-2005 07:55 PM

thank you Plan B, i will check them out. :)

Plan B. 03-05-2005 08:22 PM

No problem man. Those are just some basic examples. Check out the new Vault crashes too if you can, they're great.

Music_is_life 03-05-2005 08:31 PM

I will but are they not more pricey than the AA/AAX lines? I don't wanna spend more than 180 CDN.

Plan B. 03-05-2005 08:39 PM

My 18" was $160 if I recall correctly, for sure not over $180.

Music_is_life 03-05-2005 08:40 PM

wow really? is that canadian? I was under the impression that they would go for around 180-200 CDN.

Plan B. 03-05-2005 09:39 PM

Yep, Canadian. They're a new line, but they're priced lower than HHX/HH and a little higher, if not the same as AAX/AA's.

groomits 03-06-2005 05:50 PM

I could buy a used 14'' AA china for 80$ CND, is that a good deal? Cause I know someone who's selling it. The cymbals is really clean, there's just some finger marks. He didnt played it a lot cause he's more a guitarist.

bobby__johnny 03-06-2005 09:17 PM

i dont know...you could get a new one off of the internet for not much more....

Seafroggys 03-06-2005 10:15 PM

Get a 12" Wuhan China instead. Almost as big as a 14", and much much cheaper.

bobby__johnny 03-06-2005 10:18 PM

...or get a 14" wuhan....thats the same size.

groomits 03-07-2005 09:32 AM

^^ hahaha, I already have a 12'' wuhan, but sometimes I find it too small. I think I'll get a 16'' later.

groomits 03-07-2005 12:52 PM

finally I'll exchange my 14'' pro hats for the AA china plus 50$

bobby__johnny 03-07-2005 03:43 PM

i think you should step up to an 18" if you have a 12". 18" is probably more versatile than any other chinese size.

groomits 03-07-2005 04:09 PM

bah.. I wanted to sell my pro hats since a long time, and now I got another china and 50$.. I'm happy lol

Seafroggys 03-07-2005 07:09 PM

Well, 12" Wuhans are much more common and dirt cheap at GC (even though I absolutly hate that place).

Hammerheart 03-08-2005 09:16 PM

I want a ride that will give me a nice "ping sound" and doesn't ring forever, my ZXT right now doesn't give me a good sound, and rings forever, so yeah. Thanks.

bobby__johnny 03-08-2005 10:49 PM

A. Zildjian Ping Ride...21" if you can get one.....

any ring you will hear, will be drowned out by any accompianing guitars/basses.

DruMMeR_BoY14 03-09-2005 02:16 AM

You can't get a 21" ping ride, only 20"and 22". I have a 20" and theres alto of overtones, but yes it will be killed by the guitars, it got a nice ping, and makes a fat crash as well.

Seafroggys 03-09-2005 06:04 PM

I'm pretty sure they make 21" A Pings, as I hear about them all the time. Then again, they offered 17" AA Medium Crashes on musicianfriends, and none of the stores in my area stocked or were able to stock them (meaning they don't really exist unless you custom order).

bobby__johnny 03-09-2005 08:22 PM
they offered 17" AA Medium Crashes on musicianfriends, and none of the stores in my area stocked or were able to stock them
if a store tells you they cant get a 17" AA Medium Crash, its either because of 1.) They do not carry ANY Sabian Product. or 2.) They Lied.

for just about any sabian crash, 17" is a more than available size.

Tesrson16 03-09-2005 11:37 PM

I am looking at a Zildjian A 19" Rock crash, I was wondering would this be a good main crash for rock and metal?

Seafroggys 03-10-2005 12:18 AM

To the above two posts....

I actually prefer medium weights over rock weights....their plenty heavy, plus being lighter then the rock weights will be more verstaile.

To BobbyJohnny.....

When I called to about six stores in my area, every single one (except one, which was all Zildjs) stocked or could stock 16" or 18" Medium AA crashes....I was in the market for a 17", but no one could have one. That's where I ended up with my 18", which I'm perfectly happy for :thumb:

kendrummer86 03-10-2005 01:12 AM

What are some good reliable Meinl brands, but nothing super expensive, I want a nice sound overall and everywhere I go they don't stock Meinl cymbals, only place i've seen them would be Musiciansfriend that has a good selection of them...

I realize it might be hard to tell me from the information given, just let me know what you need to know and I shall explain as best I can.

IM A BEGINER SO DONT LAUGH 03-10-2005 04:29 AM

You can look at the Amun, and maybe soundcaster, the Amuns are an affordable line, from what i've been looking at so far

well, as long as your happy right? but sabian DOES make 17" AA Meidums as a circulation size...its not a custom job or anything.
