The Ripper is awesome - but Halford suits Priest more

Angel Of Retribution - DEMONIZER! WOW!

But maybe the best vocals are on One Shot At Glory, every note, especially the "I still hear the battle criiies! the call goes on and oon! i still see the baaanneeers flyy! the battles always woooon!"

Good to drum to aswell, but who can deny the intro to Painkiller?
As soon as I learnt that, I considered it the turning point of my drumming. When I started, I thought "One day I'll play that" and now - YAY

RCA 07-22-2005 11:38 AM

My favorite part of One Shot At Glory is the guitar riff that immediately follows the chorus. :hails:

Riva 07-22-2005 06:15 PM

One Shot At Glory just smacks of power metal, it's great. :p

the low end theorist 07-22-2005 09:09 PM

favorite song-tyrant off of the sad wings of destiny album- hmmm, i like priest, but i'm more partial to their older stuff:)

Dread_rocker 08-01-2005 10:27 AM

what happened to the "worth fighting for" single??

Six Foot Revolver 08-06-2005 04:23 PM
favorite song-tyrant off of the sad wings of destiny album- hmmm, i like priest, but i'm more partial to their older stuff:)
I prefer their newer stuff such as Painkiller etc.

/Resurects thread from the dead

NP: Touch Of Evil

Riva 08-06-2005 05:42 PM

I tend to prefer both the new and old stuff. :)
what happened to the "worth fighting for" single??
I think they axed it for the Revolution single...

Six Foot Revolver 08-06-2005 05:55 PM

Don't get me wrong their old stuff is great Sad Wings Of Destiny is possibly my second favourite Priest album. I just prefer the newer stuff over the older stuff 'tis all. I haven't heard all the Priest albums but I highly doubt that any of them could beat Painkiller

Riva 08-06-2005 06:27 PM

Well, Painkiller is great, but for different reasons than Sin After Sin, Sad Wings Of Destiny or Killing Machine.

Deth 08-06-2005 07:23 PM

Painkiller is still by far my favorite, though I may get Stained Class tomorrow...

NP: Touch Of Evil

RCA 08-06-2005 07:56 PM

Stained Class is by far my favorite Priest album. If they revamped the guitar tone and made the drums chunkier, it would be the heaviest Priest album ever.

Agent_Orange 08-07-2005 12:16 AM

Im going to see 'em on october 18th!!!!!!!!!

Dread_rocker 08-08-2005 04:47 AM

I really hope they release the birmingham show on dvd, such an awesome show! But then again a Re-Unleashed in the East show on dvd/cd would be a treat aswell.

Deth 08-08-2005 06:35 AM

Or maybe a DVD with both! that would be the best.

Dread_rocker 08-26-2005 03:01 AM

Yup

Apocalyptic Raids 08-27-2005 06:38 AM

I just got Unleashed In The East.

Exciter just owns on this album.

What is Re-Unleashed? The press release was so long ago that I've forgotten :upset:

Riva 08-27-2005 08:45 AM

Re-Unleashed is the band performing all of their hits to date. So you've got AoR tracks etc, added on. Should be awesome.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-27-2005 08:46 AM

Indeed it shall.

I need more Priest :upset:

The Metallian 09-10-2005 07:05 PM

My third favrite priest album is Rocka Rolla, Because It sounds blusy And i liked it

Listen to "winter, deep freeze, winter retreat, cheater" or the winter medly.

the winter part scared me it sounded creepy

Deth 09-10-2005 07:09 PM

Don't you? It's stupid.

Thanks for bumping the thread though, I missed the Priest thread.

Riva 09-22-2005 04:55 AM

Rocka Rolla is really great, I don't know why people dump on it so often.

ThrashMaster27 09-22-2005 05:07 AM

It's alright. Good release for the time, but it's not really high up on my Priest list. Out of interest, what would people rather listen to out of Halfords solo albums and the Ripper era Priest?

Deth 09-22-2005 05:44 AM

The Halford solo stuff I heard is really good. I would like to pick up one of those albums.

ThrashMaster27 09-22-2005 05:53 AM

Yeah, pick up Resurrection. Great album.

Haha, I just saw a picture of Halford when he was in Two with John Lowery from Marilyn Manson. I'm sure he's wearing eyeliner.

dr._feelgood 11-12-2005 09:31 PM

Judas Priest

I haven't seen a Judas Priest thread in a long time so i decided to make one, since I have rekindled my interest in this band.

Rob Halford has an amazing voice and K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton make one of the best dual guitar teams in heavy metal. They have been around since the late 70's and recently got back together after having Tim "Ripper" Owens from a Judas Priest cover band front the band for awhile. Discuss all things Priest in this thread.

matthallo 11-12-2005 09:36 PM

I love priest. I have all the halford albums. Halford is an amazing vocalist! And unlike some bands (Cough Metallica Cough) Theve still got it! Angel of retribution was awesome!

Shattered_Future 11-12-2005 09:39 PM

Priest I like. Many good riffs abound.

Suprisingly, Angel Of Retribution was GOOD. They still write (and record, from the production) like it was 20 years ago.

Grimm 11-12-2005 09:46 PM

Priest is definately a band that will never f*ck up.but don't rip Metallica.

dr._feelgood 11-12-2005 09:49 PM

What's everybody's favorite Priest song? I am currently obsessed with Beyond The Realms Of Death.

classicrockman 11-12-2005 09:52 PM

"Breaking the Law." So simple...yet so bad-***.

matthallo 11-12-2005 09:53 PM

yeah beyond the realms of death is gold. I also like the hellion/electric eye, ram it down, desert planes, i coudl go on and on!

Oh, and P.s: I wasnt ripping metallica, i love them, i jsut dont like st anger.

classicrockman 11-12-2005 09:55 PM

"Hell Bent for Leather" is sweet too.

dr._feelgood 11-12-2005 09:56 PM

I forgot Breaking The Law. That song is truly the most badass song ever

classicrockman 11-12-2005 09:58 PM
I forgot Breaking The Law. That song is truly the most badass song ever

And there's no guitar solo.

Freezing Moon 11-12-2005 10:04 PM

Judas Priest is great.

Grimm 11-12-2005 10:18 PM

My favourite songs are definately In between and Hell is home.Beyond the realms of death is also a good song, and i've tried learning it one bass coz its one of the few Priest songs that people have bothered to tab out for bass.I have all of priest's albums (i think) but i never have the time to listen to all of them.

-The Frank 11-12-2005 10:20 PM

dont you guys think the song "you got another thing comming" could have been a bit faster and a little more aggressive?

Grimm 11-12-2005 10:26 PM

You've Got Another Thing Comin' probably could have been a little faster and heavier.i heard that on a game...GTA:Vice City i think.i didn't know that was Judas Priest.but the last time i heard that song was 2 or 3 years ago.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-12-2005 11:10 PM

Unleashed In The East is the one of the best live albums ever.

superflyjojo 11-12-2005 11:30 PM

Judas Priest is fucking awesome!!!! I saw them last year, and my god did they put on an excellent show. My favorite Priest songs are Painkiller, Hellion/Electric Eye, All Guns Blazing, Night Crawler, Breaking The Law, Freewheel Burning, and Hell Bent For Leather.
