yeah its ozzy with a sign saying hell on it
I'm wearing a shirt that says that. Has anyone heard the Ozzy/Zakk Wylde cover of Purple Haze? |
i havnt heard it but i think its going to be on ozzys box set bible of ozz that is out next year
|
I haven't heard it either, but it should be with the new Ozzy 4-Disc box set.
There was a rumour flying around about a box set of the other Sabbath albums from the non-Ozzy era, I'm not sure if its going to be released though. |
I could post an attachment to it on here. Do attachments work?
|
I don't think so, they never work in the Pit so I'm guessing they don't work in here.
|

Its an awesome song, and Zakk makes it straight up heavy metal but still keeps the flow of the song. |

Wow I just heard that... Sweet stuff. |
the purple haze cover has some good guitar, but the vocals... not great

True. Ozzy was put on this earth to sing metal songs and only metal songs. |
there is a cover of the rolling stones 'sympahty for the devil' on ozzys box set isnt there?
(im talking about the bibl of ozz that is out next year) |
i sure hope not
|
i sure hope not
Why  It would sound kind of weird, but it might be interesting. |
i dont know i can just hear wylde ruining that song with the overdose of pinch harmonics....ahhhhhh!!!!!!!
dont get me wrong i love artificial harmonics and zakk, but they dont match with this song |

What about Solitude, Planet Caravan and Changes? Those songs don't really fit into the ''metal'' genre. ;) |

Yeah, I didn't think he did good on those. |
Yeah, I didn't think he did good on those.
Fair doos, personally I think he did an amzaing job on Solitude, his voice is so mellow and angelic, its beautiful. |

I don't remember how Solitude goes. But I only thought he did ok on Changes. I'm going to go listen to Solitude. |
Yeah, I didn't think he did good on those.
Wow, Changes IMO has some of Ozzy's best on it, I just like how it flows. |
Changes was alright, a bit on the cheesy side though.
The duet he did with Kelly sucked, hard. It had interesting and reasonably good lyrical content, but they slaughtered a classic song. |
I love the song planet caravan, although solitude I really don't dig.
Has Tony done anything serious since sabbath? I'd be intrested to hear it. |
He's released two albums under the name ''Iommi''.
One came out in 2000, and featured many different artists on it including Ozzy on one song. His latest album (which is actually pretty old) was released a few weeks ago, I can't remember its official name but its been dubbed the ''8th Star'', due to the Black Sabbath album ''7th Star'' being a Tony-solo-album, under the Sabbath name (record companies  ) Thats all I can think of at the moment for Tony. |
Solitude is nowhere near as good as planet caravan IMO
|
Solitude > Planet Caravan > The Paranoid album.
Why? I just don't like that album much, I'm more into the later Ozzy albums and post-Ozzy albums. /puts on flame hat |
Didn't someone else sing solitude?
|
Nope, it was Ozzy.
Bill Ward sang Its Alright (Technical Ecstasy) and Swinging the Chain (Never Say Die!) |
Solitude is awesome, and your right Lord Brummington, ozzys voice is beatiful in that song. The first time i heard it i had a hard time believing it was him singing.
Planet caravan is a much darker song in my opinion but again ozzys voice fits it perfectly (just look at the pantera cover to see how unique ozzys voice is, good cover but not a patch on the original). But overall I think solitude is better than planet caravan, although i think the planet caravan solo is hard to beat. |

hey guys, I'm planning to buy a sabbath cd, what album should I get?
Also whats the name of the album with that song "Sabbra Cadabra" that Metallica 'borrowed' |
^Sabbra Cadabra is on the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
For your first Sabbath cd, I recommend The Best of Black Sabbath or We Sold our Soul For Rock 'n' Roll, both are compilation albums and they give a good insight into what Sabbath sound like etc... But if you're not looking into buying a compilation album, I highly recommend Vol.4 and Master of Reality as the first albums to buy, both are amazing and its the point in time where Sabbath were really delving deep into their sound, some songs being heavy, some being mellow and in all, they show the best of Sabbath from the Ozzy years.
i hate the song its alright
 Fair enough. |
i would say either paranoid or the best of sabbath for starters, simply because the best of has well their "best" songs and paranoid has most of the songs that people tend to asociate (sp?) with sabbath (dont know if that really makes sense but still)
|
my favourite album is We Sold Our Souls For Rock And Roll. That and Paranoid. I love all the songs off both those albums \m/
|
I suggest Paranoid first because I got We sould our souls and when I got paranoid I knew half the album already
|
For popular Black Sabbath, get Paranoid.
Then you'll be cool. For better Black Sabbath(with Ozzy), get either Vol.4, Master of Reality or Never Say Die! Then you'll be cooler. |
get their first album it owns almost every other metal album i have ever heard
|
Solitude > Planet Caravan > The Paranoid album.
Why? I just don't like that album much, I'm more into the later Ozzy albums and post-Ozzy albums. /puts on flame hat
they are really difrent styles of music so there is no reason for being flamed, its a matter of musical taste |
For starters get Symptoms of the Universe for Ozzy or Heaven and Hell for Dio or get the Best of Black Sabbath(With Martin)
|
What about Solitude, Planet Caravan and Changes? Those songs don't really fit into the ''metal'' genre. ;)
Man all three of those songs are brilliant man. |
