did anyone get the new terror cd? if so, is it better than lowest of the low?
|
My friend got it at Hellfest. He said it's not as good as LotL, but still a good CD.
|
I just picked it up myself. Good stuff. I don't like the production though, it's too nice and clean for a hardcore album.
EDIT: I also bought Scars of Tomorrow's Design Your Fate. I don't even like them, I just got it because it was only $4.25. |
I just listened to a bunch of CDs. Some "real screamo," Neil Perry, Crestfallen, Envy (them crazy Japanese folk), Majority Rule, Kaospilot pageninetynine, badcannon (it was something like that, I believe their on Level Plane), Saetia, Love Lost But Not Forgotten. Also, the new Dillinger sounds so good, so does the new Misery Signals. Time in Malta sounded pretty bad. Converge is coming out with a new album this September.
You go crazy on Soulseek or something? |
Heheh. No, the music store I go to has this computer database where you can listen to any CD you want.
Laguna Beach, I think.
Irvine. But it's all good down in south OC.

Haha, so you just sat there and listened to CDs all day? Or did you more or less scan through them? Man, I wish my CD store had that :upset: |

Lucky bastard, I get stuck buying discs I know one song to, and hoping they are good. |

Irvine? Rich fuck. |

Man, I wish my CD store had that :upset:
i was in barnes and nobles and they have a huge database of so many bands. every band i searched you could listen to. |
Irvine? Rich fuck.
When we can buy a house out here we'll be rich. Are you out of high school?
|
Yes.
|
Cewlness. Are you gonna be at the Eulogy show in Anaheim?
|
Nah, I don't think so. I will be at Undying/The Acacia Strain, Evergreen Terrace/ALOL/The Red Chord, and Caliban/SoT/Nodes/Reflux, however.

That was it. And Throwdown is definitely metalcore now. |
Also, did Chad sing when he was in Shai Halud?
|
Yes. He does the guest vocals in "The Only Thing", if that's what you were wondering about.
|
Also, I have a couple questions about a7x I thought you might be able to answer. Does M. Shadows play the piano on songs like "Warmness On The Soul" (which I like now) and "We Come Out At Night?" And who does that high pitched backing scream on "The Art Of Subconscious Illusion?"
|
That was it. And Throwdown is definitely metalcore now.
Mos def not. :thumb:
Oh and I just heard Martyr AD on Road Rules. |
No way....
Haymaker is extremely metalcore. |
Seriously, if you were going to say any of their stuff was metalcore Beyond Repair would be the closest. Haymaker isn't even as heavy as You Don't Have To Be Blood To Be Family.
|
Also, did Chad sing when he was in Shai Halud?
Yes Chad Gilbert sang on Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion. But did not write the lyrics. Matt Fox is the primary song writter for the hulud. |
Throwdown lost a big audience now. Bitching out and not playing "Raise Your Fist" because of the Ozzfest crowd. Or so I heard. Makes me a lil sad...

M. Shadows playing piano = It's either him or Synester, I'm not sure. High pitched scream = Avenged Sevenfold's merch girl/M. Shadows' girlfriend. |
Why were you watching Road Rules? Or MTV when Pimp My Ride isn't on for that matter?
Fool, I watch MTV all the time. Road Rules, Real World, Beavis & Butthead, all of it.
|
So do I. I like watching Real World, and a lot of other shows.
Real World > Road Rules |
Boiling Point!

Fo' Sho! ^^
This has turned into a Hardcore/Metalcore community thread. I like it. |
ok, and who invented all these labels? (flame away)
just wondering where this is written in the bible of music genres? |
Dear Phobia,
Learn something about music. - Sincerely, people that know something about music. |
Heheh. I still think that on Haymaker the riffs are really metal. It does kinda have a hardcore feel, I don't know.
So, the main screams heard on Hearts Once Nourished is Chad? |
i know pleanty of music, just wanting to know who wrote this stuff?
no one ever wonders where this whole stuff came from? |
i've got another curiousity(sp?), where would you put At the Drive-In?
|

Ok, thank you.
i've got another curiousity(sp?), where would you put At the Drive-In?
Indie/Progressive |
I see where you're coming from. There's a lot of double bass too, which comes from metal. I don't know, to me Throwdown are borderline. I consider them hardcore, but I don't freak if someone refers to them as metalcore. |
a lot of their fans didn't like haymaker because some of the riffs sounded like nu-metal. i see what they mean, but i don't really mind it.
|
oh yeah, i just got back from seeing a bunch of local bands and psyopus and ed gein. it sucks because most people left before psyopus and ed gein. psyopus is insane, they're very very technical, but i don't like it that much. and ed gein was pretty good but played a short set. i picked up their cd though.
