There's too many hormones on these boards.

Bartender 11-06-2004 06:42 PM

Does anyone here like Angel Dust?

The band, not the narcotic. How about Eddy Antonini?

What are some good songs?

Bartender 11-06-2004 07:43 PM

I've only just heard of them, so I was going to ask the same thing :)

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-06-2004 08:18 PM

I just heard Ensiferum for the first time. I actually enjoyed it. That is until the cookie monster came on. That kind of ruined it for me.

I've heard a few songs by them, and thought they were pretty good. I think it reminded me of Iced Earth. :-/

Thunder Fingers 11-07-2004 08:55 AM

Best Power Metal bassist?

I would say Jari Kainulainen from Stratovarius..

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-07-2004 08:15 PM

Anyyyyyways

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-07-2004 08:27 PM

Anybody know any good Rhapsody songs? I have yet to hear a song from them.

Ir0n_mE 11-07-2004 08:30 PM

Rhapsody - Dark Tower Of Abyss
Symphony Enchanted
The Village of Dwarves

Bartender 11-07-2004 08:30 PM

The classic one is Emerald Sword. Most of their material is just wonderfully over-the-top metal though.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-07-2004 08:33 PM

Thanks

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-07-2004 08:45 PM

I just heard Kotipelto. I kind of like it.

sensitiveorgan00 11-07-2004 09:16 PM

Dawn of Victory

BludgeonySteve 11-07-2004 10:06 PM

Oh yeah

Iced Earth
Dragonforce
Blind Guardian

umm, that's all for me

*leaves*

Have you heard Hammerfall or Stratovarious? If you haven't then check them out.

heinrichkuhn 11-07-2004 11:01 PM

Iced Earth

His solo albums are wonderful :) argubly my favourite vocalist.

Ive been obsessed with "Wuthering Heights" as of late, great folkish power metal. and by they way, avoid the band "Battlelore"...absoulutly awful power metal lol.

I'll remember that. Bump.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 04:17 PM

Well, since the Melodic Death Metal poll went over well, I was thinking about making one for power metal...

Hitroshimite 11-11-2004 04:18 PM
Well, since the Melodic Death Metal poll went over well, I was thinking about making one for power metal...
Do it.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 04:25 PM

Alright I will in awhile. Like a half hour or something.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 04:28 PM

I'm thinking of including these bands:

Hammerfall
Stratovarious
Iced Earth
Blind Guardian
Dragonforce
Rhapsody
Helloween
Sonata Arctica
Nightwish

and I'm debating the tenth either Grave Digger, CoB, 3 inches of Blood, or Kotipelto.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 04:40 PM

Anyone got any objections?

Brew 11-11-2004 04:52 PM

Looks like a good list to me.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 04:54 PM

Who should the tenth be?

Brew 11-11-2004 05:03 PM

Cob.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 05:05 PM

So be it.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-11-2004 05:05 PM

I'll put up the poll in a little while. I want that Iai guy to come on. He seems to be a big power metal fan.

FrailandBedazzled1979 11-12-2004 03:27 AM
Who should the tenth be?
Lost Horizon, Freedom Call, Avantasia...any of those three.

Riva 11-12-2004 05:35 AM

Manowar, perhaps?

Steerpike 11-12-2004 02:58 PM

Well, I've been looking through some of the bands mentioned here at last. I've come to a conclusion. I need to buy the following albums in this order, ASAP:

Edguy- Hellfire Club
Nightwish- Once (I pirated half of it)
Lost Horizon- Flame to hte Ground Beneath
Running Wild- Black Hand Inn

I so regret not having discovered Edguy sooner.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-12-2004 04:17 PM

Should CoB be the tenth band in the power metal poll I will soon make? Or should I choose one that I haven't heard from what Frail said.

Stoic 11-12-2004 04:55 PM

if you put cob all the stupid kiddies who probably found out that cob arent black metal last month (!) will vote for them...

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-12-2004 05:14 PM

That is true. So should I put Lost Horizon, Grave Digger or 3 Inches of Blood? Or any other suggestions for bands? Maybe Edguy or Running Wild although I've never heard either, they seem to be popular here.

Steerpike 11-12-2004 05:27 PM

Edguy started out with a more classic sound, but have taken a heavier approach on Hellfire Club.

Running Wild are also being described as Pirate Metal. It's so over-the-top you can't help but love it.

If that's any help...

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-12-2004 05:29 PM

Well, let's put it this way... When I get a tenth band I'll post the poll :chug:

ToRidTheDisease 11-12-2004 05:30 PM

Children of Bodom.

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-12-2004 05:32 PM

CoB will attract all the death/black metal fans though.

Stoic 11-12-2004 05:37 PM

no running wild are older and more traditional than the other groups, they just dont fit in.

if you put dragonforce (2 albums) then you should also put lost horizon (2 albums too) but I dont think they are quite popular in here.
