Normally I wouldn't bother posting this here, but they're actually indie-related. Some of them, anyway.
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Live From Mars - spurred on by the Like a King/I'll Rise finale, and the fact that it was on sale. Very good album. Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool - also very good. He hasn't disappointed me yet (in all of my two purchases). Big Black - Songs About Fucking - I've had about half of this downloaded for years, and I finally got around to getting it in physical form. Great album, and The Power of Independent Trucking is actually one of my favourite songs. Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger - okay, slightly less Alt/Indie material. Good, though. Bjork - Medulla - well, I liked Vespertine, and this sounded interesting. It has it's moments, definately, and sometimes it's really good. Not amazing though. I don't regret buying it, it's still something I want to have, I just wish I'd waited to find it in a bargain bin or something. Ta da. |

Queensryche - Greatest Hits Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name |
Queensryche have a Greatest Hits?!?!?

Thanks. I'm only back for one or two nights though, a flying visit home, before going back to University. Should have my very own connection by the 15th though. Hopefully. |

The Ramones-Toughest Hits
Green day-dookie shadows fall-the war withen megadeth-rust in peace metallica-master of puppets |
Today I bought all of these in the HMV sale.
Outkast - Stankonia Lou Reed - Transformer The Roots - Things Fall Apart Jurassic 5 - Quality Control Massive Attack - Protection Asian Dub Foundation - Enemy Of The Enemy NWA - Straight Outta Compton All for a grand total of £31.93. That's an average of well under £5 a CD, people. |
I just got:
Miles Davis- "Bitches Brew" as a late birthday present. SCORE |
No arguing with that. Bitches Brew is the most expensive Miles album round these parts though. :upset:

That's why it's such a score, I didn't have to pay for it. It's around 25 bucks here, anywhere you go. |
It's something like £16 here. As a comparison, Kind of Blue is £7, Sketches Of Spain £8, and In A Silent Way £7. Miles Smiles and Miles Ahead are even cheaper than that (both £5, I think).
|
There's an HMV sale on?
*sprints up to London*. My list of albums to buy is growing again. :upset:
Yes, an awesome one. I'll be heading back soon to get TLC's CrazySexyCool (finally on CD instead of tape!!!) and probably Aquemini, and The Best of Richard Wagner. The best of Django Reinhardt is £1.99, and Lou Reed's Transformer is £2.99. Silly prices. |
The best of Django Reinhardt is £1.99
Is that the four disc one? That's a goody. |
Is that the four disc one?
That's a goody.
No, I think it's two disc. I know the one you're talking about, and this one isn't quite as comprehensive, but for £1.99 there's no complaints at all. Your average sandwich costs about that much here. |
That HMV sale will make me a poor man/poorer student. Also, if you can find a Jumbo Records store (really pretentious indie store), they've got a great jazz selection, for mostly 6.99 per CD. In fact, the only I remember being more than that was In A Silent Way, which was rather annoyingly the one I was looking for. Settled for Birth of the Cool instead.

Amusing, as of that post, you had exactly 4 times as many posts as me. Jumbo Records don't exist around here, and thank god. They attract ugly, obnoxious NME fashionistas who 'just adore The Libertines, darling'. |
Death - Leprosy
Napalm Death - Inside the Torn Apart Nirvana - Nevermind (it was always too expensive before) Cannibal Corpse - Live Cannibalism Hammerbox - Numb Megadeth - Rust in Peace Last 6 I bought. |
Don't you mean 4 times as many?
