Hello to all the people who worship indie semi-gods! I have a huge favor to ask you all.
My story goes like this - my best friend is going through some really rough times and till now we have always managed to cheer each other by making cd mixes with a bunch of great songs. However, I am a classic rock maiden and I do not posses the knowledge of the indie rock as well as she (and all of you) does. And I really want to make her a cd mix with some awesome hip indie songs - not sad and sappy ones, I'm thinking more of the refreshing, jumpy type. Could you please suggest some songs that I can put up? And I mean something really hard-core indie, because I'm beggining to think that my friend knows every song of that genre! |

Chick Corea
Saw him last night with Stanley Clarke and Lenny White, they were incredible. Clarke in particular is the best bassist I've ever seen. |

Just type those artists in last.fm and check out similar recommendations. |
Kings of Convenience - Declaration of Dependence
Hari and Aino - s/t I don't know how KoC managed to get even more mellow, but apparently they could. |
Ever since seeing the one episode of Moral Orel with the song, "No Children" is easily one of my favorite Mountain Goats songs. How is it so good?

lol just give her spiderland and tell her to stop being gay |
you should just make her a mixtape with some sick classic rock on it
it would probably be better than an indie mixtape. |
