yeah, it's all downhill from that record.

Cool list. I'll try to download some of the songs and listen to them later.

Sick *** song. |
listening to n.a.s.a. again
love this album |
new Sole and the Skyrider Band is reallllly tight. due out oct 13th. the purists will crucify me, but it's really thought provoking as in a SORRY GUYS ITS BACKPACK RAP kind of way.
|
Dr. Octagon. The scratches on that first record are unbelievable.
|
makes me want to watch Wave Twisters and bug out
|
black milk - popular demand
|
First Goodie Mob album I've listened to is what I'm listening to. Soul Food is the name. I'm feeling this. Its interesting to hear Cee-Lo rhyming how he was back then and knowing he more recently made what he did in Gnarls Barkley. He's a great lyricist and poet.

amazing album, probably one of the most influential records in Southern rap if not in rap in general.
http://www.cocaineblunts.com/blunts/?p=4730 interview with Houston rapper Bun B about the influence of the album |
Props. I got new respect for Bun B after looking over that.
new Wale is awesome. will be the AotW once i get up to it.
This album could be huge, I think it's going to get really good reviews.
Personally, I think its good, but not sure exactly what I think of it yet. It's weird that it's pretty much a straight up pop record, with huge name guest spots and production from the likes of Mark Ronson etc. There could be any number of singles from it, it's difficult to figure out my highlights. The Sitek tracks are great, though. /incoherent post. |
i'll probably give it a listen i guess. not that big of a wale fan though.
some of the guest spots look interesting though, particularly Bun B, Gucci Mane, and Lady Gaga. plus there's a neptunes-produced track. |
If you guys like DMV hip hop, check out Phil Ade. Dude is nasty as hell.

Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent by Design
definitely one of my favourite rap albums production-wise. vinne paz and jus allah aren't that great but i could probably listen to anyone over these beats. |
Onra - Chinoiseries
some of the samples aren't as knock em out the park as they could be but thematically it stands upright and the drums are pretty solid if not that spectacular. chinese instrumental hip-hop |
Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III
never really liked this much besides a couple of tracks but it's bene growing lately. |

violent by design and tha carter iii both rule
probably about the same quality album imo |
JMT, immortal tech, and the roots got me into hiphop... funny cause i only really like the roots anymore.
|
yeah jmt were one of my early hip hop loves
then i hated them now i kinda like them again |
Same, except I don't really like them now. How many times can you hear Vinnie Pazz rhyme about hating fags?
