well I'd bet an approximation of medieval uncultured barbarism is a nice topic to write about.

Dargon 09-28-2007 10:44 AM

What exactly is a "medeival chord?" Did certain chords only exist in medieval times? If so, how are SatyriKoRn able to reproduce them today?

rattlehead42147 09-28-2007 10:53 AM

i dont know much about it but there is some sort of triad or a particular mode or something (i have virtually no idea about music theory so bear with me) that is associated with medieval music. i know of gorgoroth using it among others, i ran across something about it when i was trying to understand modes for guitar.

I was wondering what the **** that is, too.

rattlehead42147 09-28-2007 11:20 AM

see my explanation, it clears up the confusion immensely. :)

Invicta_Veritas 09-28-2007 02:21 PM

Haha, "Medieval Chords". What stupidity.

Thank you captain obvious, I did not know that because it's not like I co-owned an elite-only forum with him for about 2 years or anything.

Easy there, remember, you belong to a "blackened industrial grind death symphonic melodic black thrash" band.

Medieval music is actually based on christian chants and its only apport to music nowadays must be notation, but besides that it's no different from music nowadays.

Heh, acutally considering its catholic nature it's dumb to apply it to back metal music, really.

masscows 09-28-2007 03:03 PM

if the end result is badassery, then it's not dumb.

Dargon 09-28-2007 03:04 PM
if the end result is badassery, then it's not dumb.
perhaps, but satyriKoRn is here

(*IMAGINE A LOT OF SPACES AS A METAPHOR*)

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 03:16 PM

Is there such a thing as black metal literature or is most of what I can get from the subject are what I can make up through anti-christian/pagan/something else I haven't thought of literature I can find?

Dargon 09-28-2007 03:17 PM

Lyrics...
(that was for Tojes)

Swim sounds like an asshurt 14 year old SatyriKoRn fangirl.

Dargon 09-28-2007 03:21 PM

...you get that from one post, you idiot
Aren't you Cravinov? I've seen enough of your bullshit on the review site to know that you're a flaming homosexual with an insatiable craving for thick meaty man-sausage.

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 03:22 PM

OK thanks Dargon. I'll have to run a lyrical/norse mythology/anti christian fundaments to complement my research. :/

pixiesfanyo 09-28-2007 03:32 PM
i really dont even know what shoegaze is supposed to mean, i dont like alcest either way though
most of the artists that played shoegaze gazed at their shoes when playing.

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 03:40 PM

very charlie brownesque idk

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 03:59 PM

Anyway, I was watching a documentary on Black Metal by VBS and came across Gorgoroth and I thought "o well I'll give them a try again". I found their first demo and idk it feels insipid.

Dargon 09-28-2007 04:04 PM

You are insipid.

Listen to 0:38 on Funeral Procession and 0:54 on Profenetes Apenbar, both from Under the Sign of Hell. Pure Satan. (note: they're actually quite humorous)

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 04:05 PM

I was talking about A sorcery written in blood.

:o

Txus 09-28-2007 04:44 PM

I just got Clandestine Blaze / Deathspell Omega's split, hope its good.

Angmar 09-28-2007 04:45 PM

I used to really like DSO, but lately I realized how self centered their music is and how pretentious their style can be.

TojesDolan 09-28-2007 04:48 PM

They are good at ambient.

Black metal is about self-centeredness.
