Drought has more drama than almost any other song I've ever heard.
email kthx
bjwumr AT gmail DOT com Thank you very much :) |
Nearly on the way. Whats up with you and the incredibly garbled E-monikers?
Drought is such a good song.

Drought has more drama than almost any other song I've ever heard.
Kay, explain more, it sounds speshul. |
Because spam bots search forums looking for email addresses in the form of "name"@"isp".com
It's really just a precaution against spam. |
I meant the whole bwnstl and bjwumr thing.
|
Oh damn, I didn't even remember posting about it before.
It's the second track on Australasia. I believe the song speaks much louder and more powerful for itself than I ever could. |
I believe the song speaks much louder and more powerful for itself than I ever could.
Truth in a sentence. |
I guess that means I need to get Australasia then doesn't it?
Hmph. So has anyone bothered picking up the ISIS DVD yet? Or how about that ISIS/Aerogramme split? I never really got the scoop on that and Aerogramme, based solely on their name, sounds incredibly interesting. :p |
I'm downloading the ISIS DVD right now. :p
Going pretty damn slow, I expect it will be done in about a week. I have that split, but haven't listened to it yet, because I haven't been in the mood for it since I got it. |
It's not really a split. It's actually a collaboration. It's pretty decent.
I bought the ISIS DVD a week ago, but haven't had a chance to watch anything except the In Fiction music video. From the setlist alone, though, it looks like quality. |
What kind of stuff does Aerogramme write on their own?
|
Shit.
|
Have any of you heard of The Samuel Jackson Five?
|
of course we have. what kind of person would post in a post-rock thread if they hadn't heard of them.
Pretty good band, nothing too special though. I can really hear their King Crimson influence in some of their bass parts. |
I really like them. I just love their melodies.

That means basically nothing without referring to which era you're talking about. |

Anyone familair with Transmission0 ?
Post-metalish/ sludgey like very much influened by Isis. I saw them opening for Ephel Duath a few months ago. I didn't enjoy their vocalist, but the music wasn't bad at all. |
Never heard of them, Petey.
Jake: Aerogramme are great. Kage is just being a little faggy...I really like them and the split is great. It's not really a split though, it's more of a colaboration. |

Someone make me a list of quintessential post rock bands I'm missing out on. I've heard Isis, Sigur Ros, Rosetta, GS!YBE, Pelican, and a few others that I'm blanking out on at the mo'. Kthx
|
Oh, man, there are a lot.
Mono Bark Psychosis Tortoise A Silver Mount Zion Explosions in the Sky Mogwai Red Sparowes Magyar Posse To name a few. |
MAgyar Posse is very good.

I'm assuming you forgot to mention Explosions in the Sky. Magyar Posse Saxon Shore Red Sparowes God is an Astronaut Those are all pretty far away from each other stylistically, but post-rock at heart. |

Magyar Posse Saxon Shore Red Sparowes God is an Astronaut Those are all pretty far away from each other stylistically, but post-rock at heart.
Yeah, because Explosions in the Sky are the most amaammamazzznignginzingizing band ever. |
I got Isis's In the Absence of Truth a few days ago.
Firduous E Bareen is one of the most amazing songs I have ever listened to. It's mindblowing. The exotic percussion is panned a little much for my liking, but it eventually ends up creating the most perfect atmosphere. That track and Dulcinea and are the standouts after four listens through. |
Really? I'm actually not so much a fan of Firduous e Bareen. On first listen, the stand out tracks were Wrists of Kings, Not in Rivers But in Drops, and Dulcinea. Now I decided the strongest tracks are Wrists of Kings, Dulcinea, and Garden of Light. I think Garden of Light is actually one of Isis' best songs, period.
|
My favorite Isis song at the moment is Not in Rivers But in Drops, it's perfect.
|
So didn't anyone listen to The Evpatoria Report that I sent for the daily upload the other day?
