I suppose anything off Dude Ranch they play is the oldest Blink song I've seen live, other than M&M's (in the medley) and Carousel.

I don't know what happened, but many pop-punk bands randomly went mature and more in serious. I blame it on the new fad "emo", once that hit it big and escaped the underground, music went to hell literally. The bright sunny music of the 90's was replaced with pain, suffering, tears..... basically a bunch of bands complainning.

I'm hoping for a third wave of pop-punk to hit that's actually pop-punk... An up-beat, fun, immature, version of punk.

plaidbassbilly 05-01-2005 03:53 AM

Although I love pop-punk, I'll have to admit I have become a fan of the whole "emo" thing. Wouldn't mind another wave of pop-punk though.

I would like my band to be pop punk-ish, but I am also influenced by electronic NIN stuff, and other kinds of rock. I would really need two bands, but there isn't enough people that I know available, and I don't have enough time.

ed4182 05-01-2005 05:12 AM

hey so i pretty much tuned out of blink when the "hiatus" happened, can anyone fill me in about the boys and were they are, i honestly cant be ****ed to go back pages to check it out

Untitled 05-01-2005 05:57 AM

FROM THE OTHER PAGE, CANT BE ARSED QOUTEING

Third Wave pop-punk? what the hell.

Plus emos good, theres still lot of good pop-punk bands, that people say are emo, but there not. Peoples tastes change, so music and everything else does too.

ChodaBoy 05-01-2005 06:38 AM

Cant understand most of them, the quality is quite poor.

And you know you dont have to post another message when you change subject

ChodaBoy 05-01-2005 06:46 AM

Howcome its like that?

Nice bass though

felch182 05-01-2005 07:25 AM

i dont like the mark hoppus bass, you cannot vary the tone of the bass. it sounds **** at gigs.

Untitled 05-01-2005 07:29 AM

I might get one, im toying with the idea.

I have my bass set up at the minute so it only uses one pickup and, the other does nothing, and my tone is always full.

If i want a lower sound, i push my footpedals, i can get 4 or 5 varyed tones from pushing my pedals, from very livly bouncy sounding, to nice and mellow, to ultra deep.

felch182 05-01-2005 09:11 AM

yeah but they sound really tinny through a regular amp. you need a good rig to get a decent sound out of them.

Virus278 05-01-2005 10:42 AM
wats ur fav song off flyswatter people
I don't know - maybe "Red Skies" - like Chodaboy said it's kinda hard to understand most of them so I dont listen to it that much

cobert 05-01-2005 10:56 AM

Here my "summarizing" post of the day:

I do like the emo kinda stuff, but we need a happy medium between the two (the other bing immature and playful).

Flyswatter? never heard any of the songs from it.

My J-bass is set with full tone, and the high pickup is turned all the way down. Makes it sound nice 'n' chunky :thumb:

Wow, that was a weak summarizing post.
