Incubus are great band, I went to see them live last summer in manchester U,K they was awesome.. I much prefer their older stuff tho, I could`nt get my head round the new album..

Yeah, Incubus are pretty good!

I got into them when Science was out, before they got big. Being a biug funk fan, I liked the way they fused it into their music, it was different at the time! I don't know the later albums to well, but they're starting to grow on me a fair bit.

Well hate is a harsh word, But its just so cheesy to me. Its not Incubus at all, Brandon Boyd even forgot the lyrics to half the album.

I learned sink beneath the line last night. It's a fun one to play.

On bass right? My freind always plays that song on guitar, Its a fun song to play.

yeah, incubus is one of my favorite bands. it sucks that dirk left because he was way better than the new guy ( ben kenney). like people have said dirk has a better style and he writes cooler and funkier stuff. i like a.c.l.o.t.m. but the bass on it is not too good. it goes good with the music, btu if dirkl hadnt left, aclotm probably would have been an extremely good album ( better than it already was)

pistola, he goes crazy fast on those scratches on pistola. if you have the dvd that came with a crow left of the murder, it shows him scratching those parts in pistola. hes doing it behind his back and between his legs and stuff its really cool.

its a little different than the police one

I recorded the title track of ACLOTM for a mate's Music Technology coursework on Thursday morning. He's doing a bossa-nova arrangement of it.

So that was the last one I learned.

yah, i just found this thread. but by reading my posts you can tell i like incubus, :cool: .

what im saying is if you listen to two incubus songs one with and one without dirk, lets say:

megalomaniac and glass

ok the bass sounds good on both of them, but we can tell that the better bass line is on glass. they both play what sounds good with the music, but dirk plays better. ( do you see what im saying) ben plays pretty much the same as the guitar, dirk is plays independant, but still sounds good.

That's dumb. Ben's bass line in the new version of Drive is better than Alex's bass line for Drive. I guess you can say that Ben is the better bass player.


And Ben doesn't just copy what Mike plays.

A bossa-nova arrangement of ACLOTM? Now that´s something I´d love to listen to! :thumb: I heard that Mike is a bossa-nova fan.

that was the most intelligent post i have seen in a while, anyway, Dirks playing was better on the bass, but i have heard that ben kenney is a way better musician, and helps out with back up vocals and so forth, and everyone gets along with him unlike brandon and dirk not getting along. so maybe they are better off.

I think for ACLOTM he probably just stepped back while he was new to the band, I think he'll be more in the forefront on their next album.
