Awesome, my old band got #14 in instrumental rock last year.
|
4U rack case costs £35.
I could then afford to either get a midi controller but only put my v-amp and a patchbay in my rack, or not get a midi controller and get a rack FX or EQ, but not be able to afford a midi controller. And i don't need a patchbay. bummer. |
I think i'll actually get a midi controller first, with an OD pedal. I can get a rack case, empty shelf for the v-amp and a virtualizer later.

don't spend money on rack case when you can buy actual stuff that will make your recordings sound better! (yet)

no... I'm building an Pd pedal next, and my maplin basket is £14.56 inc case, switches etc, but no external power supply. Just batteries on this one. actually, it needs an off siwtch. There goes another 50p. /me checks electornics box /has no spare siwtches :upset: /has 2 colours of LEDs :) The rack comes once i can afford some stuff to put in it. It'd be entirely a guitar gigging rack- studio rack stands (don't travel so well) cost about £15 for like 8U. |

Did you mean Od..as in overdrive? or something else completley:S Lol i made a pedal for my GCSE DT project...didnt actually work..looked kinda cool though, and was fun to make. If you are making an OD pedal, would u mind making a thread about it or something, because i wouldnt mind trying again to see if i can get some better results! heh Gaz |

how many Ls in "illegal"?
Three. And you can tell he's used a cd labeller on the cd as the label is slightly smaller than a commercially produced cd. |
how effective would a battery condenser shotgun mic like the audio technica ATR25 be as an overhead, or for mic'ing an acoustic etc? Is it basically just a back electret that comes with adapters for minidisc and camcorders?
ATR25 SHOTGUN MIC Audio-Technica ATR25 Stereo Microphone|. A unidirectional stereo condenser microphone complete with Mic Adaptor and battery. Comes with cables to let you connect to either Jack inputs (on a mixer) or Stereo mini jack (to connect to a soundcard, MiniDisk or Camcorder). Superb Audio-Technica quality. |
shotgun for overhead?
shotgun for overhead?
well, it could've worked.. :upset: |
nono, ive just never seen it used like that..
|
well, it'd probably be too unidirectional.
|
maybe for close-miking cymbals

I had my house warming party on friday night.
She was a wild night. I've got photos of me getting around wearing this god-awful blonde wig. |

Then you find out that its not a wig, and you got hair implants.
 Then you trim it into a sensible mullet. |

The photos are still on the camera, which I haven't got at the moment. Maybe.. I'll post them. If you're lucky. |

hi..!
|
hello.
you sound friendly. |
To be honest, this is probably the best forum with regard to newbies - there's very little flaming goes on here. (or at least that I notice)
(wasn't calling Kapitan a n00b, simply praising this forum!) |

(wasn't calling Kapitan a n00b, simply praising this forum!)
I think thats do do with the fact that n00bs that come here encounter only helpful posting and friendly users, and reflect this in their attitude. they go into the pit, get flamed for talking, think they'll try it themselves, suck at it, and argue with everyone. |
i must admit, this does seem to be th friendliest of the forums. the bass one is too but i stear WELL clear of the guitar forum just cos they all seem so elitist. if u cant shred like a demon they don't wanna know

too right. i used to be a very active GF user, but to be honest 95% of them are utter tosspots. |
for your info, newb is someone new to something, a n00b is someone who thinks they know what they're doing but they don't. Two different meanings> :chug:

When I first started coming to the Jam Session. It was very quiet. Not many regular posters. And even week old (or more) threads on the first page.
It seemed 'sterile' Over the last year or so, there has definately been some life breathed into it. |
