I only have the "British Steel" Album.

Misc. Commentary:
Do you think this sentence said by Halford is true?:

"America maybe create rock n' roll, but england create heavy metal'
Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Iron Maiden... yeah, I'd agree with that.

Scorpions are actually German, though Michael Schenker did a lot of MSG's early work in London.

Really? Well, I'd always assumed the accent was English. :-/

(Still, Germany is in Europe.)

I just have rediscovered Painkiller as one of my favorite albums ever. If anyone here doesn't have it, go get it.

94_Hours 05-03-2005 07:24 PM

Metal Meltdown is so fantactically amazing i can't properly describe it in words, also, im going to see them , has anyone seen them before?

Rrrrrrr 05-04-2005 04:27 AM

Erk, Priest are coming to Atlanta this June just when I'm not fucking going to be here.

Deth 05-04-2005 08:15 AM

That sucks.

Here comes the metal meltdown, no one survives.

Six Foot Revolver 05-13-2005 01:04 AM

I just got painkiller and it is my new favourite Priest album :D

Deth 05-13-2005 07:47 AM

Yes yes yes. I love the Painkiller. Favorite tracks are Painkiller, All Guns Blazing and A Touch of Evil.

Thanks for the bump, we need to keep this alive until my concert.

ThrashMaster27 05-13-2005 08:43 AM

One shot at glory is the best on that album. I love it.

Deth 05-13-2005 08:44 AM

That is also a very good song. I love Painkiller this much.

/strechs arms to demonstrate

Riva 05-14-2005 12:03 AM

One Shot At Glory is just so power metally, it is easy to see that speed metal influenced power metal.

Favourite song off Painkiller: Probably Leather Rebel. \m/

So, Al Atkins is releasing a new album... Thoughts?

AAAAAAAGRHHH! Did you really think englishmen sing "aweee" for "away" and "bleck-out" for "blackout"? God help me. You don't know many brits do you? :amaze:

Yep. I actually did. I also thought Rhapsody were from Germany, so sorry for my lack of accentual skills. :)

(Bloody poms and their 50 000 different accents).

ThrashMaster27 05-14-2005 07:59 AM

Aye, I can relate to that. If you go 10 minutes down the street in England you'll get a different accent. If you go anywhere in Ausland, you'll find that most people speak the same.

Funny thing though. My mate in Aus couldn't tell the difference in English accents.

Riva 05-14-2005 08:35 AM

Yeah, my Grandmother in Adelaide speaks a slighty crisper version of Australian, but it's still very much the same. Not like the difference between Northerners and Southerners and Welsh, and East London, and West London, and blah blah balh....

Riva 05-21-2005 06:57 AM

Just ordered Rocka Rolla off the net. I hope it turns out to be as good as I remember it being...

No word on Priest coming to Aus though. :(

If you wander around Tipton (its near Brum) there's a different accent for every street. Sometimes the accent varies per household.

ATC 05-21-2005 09:03 AM

what's a good priest song that sounds like Judas Rising?
Its a pity that isnt the single off Angel Of Retribution.

Riva 05-21-2005 09:11 AM

Probably something off of Sin After Sin or Hellbent For Leather. You could also try A Touch Of Evil, from Painkiller.

Deth 05-21-2005 06:48 PM

I think that All Guns Blazing or Between The Hammer and the Anvil sound similar to Judas Rising.

One month until I see Priest :).

JamieSomething 05-21-2005 07:39 PM

Priest is good, Priest is very good
and..going to go see them, buahaha!
Fourth of July, can't f'in wait!

Shout it Out 05-21-2005 07:42 PM

Priest, in my opinion, is the best band that continuously evolves musically, like if you listen to 70's Preist, then to early 80's, then Ram it Down and Painkiller, then the new one Angel of Retribution, you notice how well they have gradually changed their music, but still maintain that Preist feel. I don't know anyone else who has done anything like that before.

The beat is a mite too fast, I think. And the phrasings a bit different. Still great songs though. :)

Another thing you may find amusing; I come from Suffolk as do all of my family and when we're abroad (and sometimes even in the UK) people often mistake me for an Australian because of my Suffolk accent. It happens a lot, honest. The accent isn't the same, and if you are Australian you wouldn't think so I'm sure but there are definite similarities. I did a bit of research and discovered that the majority of people transported to Oz actually came from London and East Anglia so it may be that the Oz "strine" developed from the accents of my area over the next 150 years!

Deth 05-23-2005 07:56 AM

*glares at RumBoy* get back to talking about Priest!

Has anyone except Lord Brummington seen Priest on this tour yet? I need another review.

Riva 05-23-2005 07:10 PM

Hehe, did you guys hear about Re-unleashed in the East? That'll be killer, especially with all the AoR and ripper era songs!
