I can't believe the stupidity in some of these ****ing forums. Stop trying to change things round here. We don't like your kind. |
Radiohead's Paranoid Android anyone?
eeeeeeeeeh...... no. some people are really stupid. "Any malmsteen solo", "otherside... I mean its so simple", "that five noted solo I heard 6 month ago...". You really have understand the different of 1. a simple (or easy to play) solo. 2. a short solo. 3. a "not so great" solo. 4. A solo that’s built up by "regular" scales. 5. a solo to a bad song. And the worlds worst. I mean the world’s worst should be a solo that makes you puke or pisses you of when you even think about it. A five noted solo could might as well just been a riff to give effect to the song. So when Hendrix suddenly just makes one bend and then continues with the song’s riff that’s bad? Even if it sounds good? And do you really think Malmsteen plays the absolute WORST solos there is? I admit he’s not for everybody to like, and is not even close to be the best, but is certainly not the worst. |
the moldy peaches -nothing came out
by far the worst i've ever heard |
Black Hole Sun. Crap. Good song though.
Dear god. Who would even consider calling that a solo? No.... just no. Fred Durst should just... fall over and die or something. Jesus.

Fred Durst's poor attempt at shredding
I don't have a link but I'm sure someone will
ahahahahahha everything about that is so true..ahhaha |
worst solo! hmmm i disapear by metallica canny song tho especially for that band
whaaaaat?! that may not be the hardest solo to play it sounds awesome! i don't like gueriila radio...or most tom morello solos for that matter due to the effects which ruin them..cept sleep now in the fire :thumb: also the solo to porch by pearl jam is kinda poor |
Yeah, it is subjective. But, I think it is a fact that a solo should fit a song.
|
I think Rammstein - America is the worst solo i've ever heard... It's just pure crap!
|
The guitar solo in DMV by Primus is the worst I've heard. It's horrible.
|
Simple doesn't mean bad..Look at most of Frucante's solos.
Most of Slipknot's solos suck.
Thats kinda true... Slipknots solos (all like, 3 of them) are incredebly technical but don't sound all that hot. The vermillion solo is very complex but apart from a snippet at the end, to the average person just sounds like a load of crap. |
anything my buddy will do when he tries to show off......he sucks
|
There are so many technically bad solos out there that it would be impossible to pick one as being the "worst". To me, the worst solos are the ones that are made out to even be a solo, when really it's just another crappy one note riff...but really high up, as in Teen Spirit (not picking exclusively on Nirvana by the way, just saying).
I was gunna say that solos out of context are also really bad, but at the end of the day, it's like...a halfway treat, and even if it's totally un-needed within the context of the song, I'd be dissapointed if there was nothing to look forward to at all! |
RHCP- zephyr song
|
please dont hate me but i think some dreamtheater solos sound really out of place like they wrote it with out listening to the song, also this kid i know wrote a solo so bad that his younger brother in the band had a go at him and the other guitarists and bassist and drummer all left the band.

of course we judge their art thats why we listen to it and its why they make it if they are worried that some people wont like it then they would never get anywhere. its like going to an art gallery and saying you cant critisize any of the paintings because its not constructive. and how exactly are we supposed to be constructive...well i think mr cobain should really have...but kirk hammet just wasnt doing what i would have...!!! for every post about a bad solo on this forum i bet theres a hundred people who like it so there stop being so angry. |

These called modulations or something like that, they are MEANT to be out of key and out of contest . Very liitle ammount of musicians can write that sort of things it has to be somehow linked to the piece but when you hear it you think its not. |
Metallica - One
Metallica - Master of Puppets Hammet doesn't know about melody but shhhhh don't tell him. |
Smoke on the Water's solo disgraces the awesome intro.
you discrace yourself     |
indeed

I hate when people try to defend Kurt Cobain by saying that people who diss him only like really fast and complex solos. It's as if there's no middle ground! Personally, I prefer something SLOW and complex, like what Clapton, Santana, Gilmour, and such were famous for.
|
Although I love Krisiun, I'm gonna have to say that their solos are pretty horrible...

Joe Satriani - Echos.
Everyone needs to shut the F*** up about Tom Morello. His name does not even BELONG in this post. Think about it: he's gotten guitarist of the year at least 3 times. He started at around the same time as Tool, and formed Rage Against the Machine, a band that, even though they have since broken up, revolutionized the rock genre. The solos he chooses to construct for his songs fit with the flow of the song. Morello knows how to make his guitar pierce right into the soul, and he can pry out the deepest of emotions. His work with Audioslave only cements that theory, in that he can work around the amazing voice talent of Chris Cornell, and play solos that invoke sadness and loneliness, rather than his style with Rage, which was basically fight music.
Tom Morello is one of the best guitarists out there, and he could shred any of you f***ers in half if he wanted to. He chooses to use effects and different guitar techniques, and i choose to faithfully listen to them.
**** FuC*n right mate! One of the most original guitarists of all time...!! |
Metallica - One

I hate the fast fingerpicking metallica one solo, metallica kicks *** but that just sounds like crap
