I just found the weirdest video for Goodbye Forever.
Does it involve Glenn with a lawn mower? Dan playing bass in a backyard? and Matt driving in his car? because that video is very old. I believe that was the first Alkaline trio video ever made. |
That is true.
And Dan is playing bass....but his left hand is fretting, but not on the actual bass neck. |

I love Alkaline Trio. All I have by them is Good Mourning and From Here To Infirmary though. :(

You need Maybe I'll Catch Fire, Goddammit (too lazy for swear filter) and Crimson, and if your country doesn't get the bonus tracks on MICF and Goddammit, then you need to buy the self titled also.
The splits aren't necessary, but good for the big fans who love the trio. |

I don't think Dan will ever make a better song then If You Had A Bad Time, and I don't think Matt will ever make a better song then Sadie. Both of those songs are just amazing. |

Sadie is on Crimson, and normally people don't like buying cds with only 5 or so songs by a band they like unless they are a big fan. Especially when it only apperas to be sold for like £15 whenever I see it. Although you can get it on the internet. |

The new Sadie is much better in my opinion. |

I agree, the chorus sounds a bit better for some reason, I think Matt's vocals have very slightly different timing. Haven't listened to the OMA split version in a while though, so I may be wrong. |

You're probably right. I like the new version better because you can actually hear the voice during the bass solo and Dan sings in the outro as well. |
OK, can someone tell me who Glenn is please?
I am so confused. |
Old drummer, before Mike Felumlee.
Glenn Porter was his name. He drummed on Maybe I'll Catch Fire, and I think Goddammit. |
Check Dan's FA
|
aw man that's embarrasing, I read that.
in one ear... out the other... hm.. i thought they only had 2 drummers? wow you learn something new everyday.. just a thought - why is it most bands have problems with their drummers? (Green Day, for example.) |
And Blink182.
I know a Glenn, he lives next door but one to me, he has one nice superbike. |

I think that with drummers, they aren't as influential to the band normally. So when a band loses one, they can be replaced. If you lose a lead guitarist, or singer, it is hard to carry on the band, so I just think that any bands who lose other members just fail as bands.

Like when TBS lost john nolan, you could tell the impact. |
Yeah, with a lot of bands, the drummers don't make as much of an impact. If Blink lost Travis now though, I think they couldn't carry on. Or if Green Day lost Tré. Those drummers seem to do a lot during the song writing processes and help the band a lot.

I just typed up the most kick *** review of this band, and then my computer crashed.
Goddammit. |
i think its hot water music who do a pretty damn good cover of radio
|
Yeah, tis on the Split EP. Its an OK cover, but its not great
|

/Bumpped!
So, anyone hear the trio on Lock Up (BBC Radio 1) last night? I know me and Lillie were listening, and were in the chat room. I was a little dissapointed by all the fans talking endless crap in there, not giving Derek a chance to answer any questions... Still, the radio talk was fairly interesting, except for worrying comments of getting to number one in the UK and going "mainstream". Sounded like they wanted it to happen  |

Unless they completely change their sound to what's popular, or they ''sell out''. Which they havn't. I snapped and downloaded their new album so I have something new to listen to when I'm revising. I really really like it. I'm gonna buy it when it's officially released. |
Danm, i forgot
