As a HUGE AC/DC fan, i can admit all there songs sound simple and the same but that doesn't mean they are garbage. They are still a great band and yes Angus Young is not that much of a great guitarist, he is decent but hes no steve vai. Well he didn't exactly have much time to learn, i mean he joined the band when he was only 14. Malcom started AC/DC when Angus was only 14 years old. The boy was in the recording studio at the age of about 15 or 16. And once you think about it most bands songs sound very similar, of course they do make songs which sound different, maybe and acoustic songs ect. but think about al the new screamo bands and all that ****, There songs sound exactly the same the only difference between them and AC/DC is that there riffs are badly played downtoned powerchords and maybe a good attempt and shredding and we can't miss out the fingertapping(which usually doesnt even fit into the song lol). If Ac/Dc sounds the same and people get sick of their sound then howcome they are still a sucessful band? I mean not many bands can do what Ac/Dc have done. They've been rockin since the 70's and are still touring in 2005!

And highway to hell is very simple to play on guitar(like most AC/DC songs but hey it sounds good)

thunderstruck-wasnt much effort in it angus came up with the intro while doodling with his guitar and recorded it personally i dont like the song much becos well it doesnt really sound like AC/DC to me

actually angus didnt join when he was 14 nor was he in a studio at 15 or 16 dunno if u no this but they lied bout his age an stuff t make the uniform like fit in with his age an stuff was actually more about 18 in the studio cos Bon was around 10 years older than malcolm when he joined and Angus is only a few years younger than malcolm

I hate when people automatically assume I'm bashing somebody just because I'm viewing them impartially. I've said I like AC/DC at least twice in this thread.

I can safely say that AC/DC is the most overrated, repetitive, and lame band in the history of rock. And that's hard to do, there's some pretty crappy bands out there.

What I meant was that all you did was say that Angus isn't all that talented. I know that the people you mentioned are more talented but that doesnt mean Angus is crap.

And yes I realise that that guy didnt know anything about playing guitar. I could play thunderstruck first time I tried.

I don't know if anyone realizes this but as long as everyone has their own opinion this is never going to end and somebody is always going to be pissed off.

have you "Stairway to Heaven" live? Right there is 7 minutes of difficult finger work (I like to see Angus play with an 18 string guitar that clean) and busts out with one of the best solos ever

hes retard jonny b good nobody in this entire thread said that angus was better than jimi page led zeppelin is alot better than acdc effin retard the argument was that angus should be on the top ten guitarist list ive seen many list on line and on most of them stupid as hell bob marley is on it im like wtf there alot better guitarist than him im not saying he sux but man and jimi hendrix common his solos suck hes a good artist but to me not a legendary guitarist van halen is really good but some of they re songs are boring but acdc has many , many good songs they should have some appraise plus they just got enducted into the rock and roll hall of fame anyways my favorite acdc song is EVIL WALKS

All I know is that AC/DC has a lot of great songs (some most people never heard of). I don't really understand why people say all of the songs sound so much alike. All the songs are similar in some ways and I don't think AC/DC ever wrote one song that was a soft, slow and innocent melody like stairway to heaven starts out, but I think they are great and I'm gonna keep listening to them until I get tired of them.

Angus kicks the crap out of Van Halen songwriting-wise, His solos actually sound good.

they re songs are similar b/c of the style and as to van halen they have some kick *** songs but acdc is slightly better because they have alot more songs that are good and gtarriff is right they have alot of good songs u never even heard of i have every single cd of acdc even an autographed copy if u want blood u got it by malcolm young and there are tons of songs that are good taht people dont know about people just base acdc on high way to hell or back in black or hells bells or tnt or dirty deeds done dirt cheap which are all great songs but there are many other good songs too they have like 60 good songs
