is chris poland back in the new album
He laid down solos and lead parts for a few of the songs I think, but he's not going to be touring with them.

DimebagDarrell 09-07-2004 10:38 AM
Dude, you paid money for Risk?!
yes :upset: i forgot how rubbish it was. He wouldnt sell unless i bought that too but i still think i got a good deal on it

Led Guitar 09-07-2004 12:43 PM

A tour isnt confirmed is it, I hope so, cause I wouldn't miss them for anything.

Mega_Dave 09-07-2004 01:19 PM

Same here, I never seen them and this is like my second opportunity in a way.

Arise 09-07-2004 05:50 PM

I would KILL to see Megadeth. I juwt hope they do a world tour.

Although, really, all you're getting is DAVE: I mean, ****, this time, not even junior is on the train

Hardest_Rocker 09-07-2004 05:53 PM

ahh, finally megadeth is calling it quits. One down, so many to go...

FrailandBedazzled1979 09-07-2004 06:28 PM

^^

what are you talking about?

anyways, if any of you would like to hear their new lead guitarist Glenn play, get King Diamond's "house of god" album, he simply shreds on that one.

Junior wont be back, he's currently in the process of sueing Mustaine over money from past tours etc...

Dave was recently asked if he'd ever consider asking Jason Newsted to join and he said yes but he dosent think Jason could commit to a full tour as he has duties to fulfill with Voivod (im still wondering why he is with them lol).

PS: ive seen Megadeth 3 times (98', 01', and 02') and they are machines on stage...they just do not mess up, everything is so well executed. one hell of a live show always.

Reidie86 09-08-2004 01:22 AM

6 days to go! -cant wait till the new album comes out

jason newstead in megadeth, that'd b funni, dave and jason could exchange " i hate metallica" stories

FrailandBedazzled1979 09-08-2004 01:35 AM

well Ellefson was a canidate to audition for Metallica but never did to my memory.

anyone else realize recently what ripping songs "recipe for hate...warhorse" and "losing my sense" are...i put this album on often and it always suprises me how these two are such neglected tracks. While i still feel "promises" is TWNAH's shining moment, these two get little if no recgonition. Great lyrics and leads by Al and Dave.

ATC 09-08-2004 04:28 AM

isnt menza gonna tour with them this time round?

I can't afford it :upset:

I have 130 $ to live on til mid-december

FrailandBedazzled1979 09-08-2004 02:15 PM
isnt menza gonna tour with them this time round?
why yes he is :) , he had to audition to get his spot back! Dave sent him a copy of the new cd and Nick said he fell in love with it and made sure he had all of his chops back to impress Mustaine, im glad to see him back! I was lucky to see him one of the three times i saw them, even though DeGrasso was amazing live as well.

mechajesus 09-08-2004 02:34 PM

So... They are offically touring again? I had heard about speculation on Dave's part but never a final answer.

I gotta see them, can't live without never seeing one of my biggest influences live.

Spaceman Spiff 09-08-2004 02:42 PM

from what i hear there will be quite an extensive tour for The System Has Failed, not sure when it will be starting though.
and the album is way better than Metallica's "return" as this is actually a decent metal album, not all songs are great though, but the best song on the cd, Blackmail The Universe.

"recipe for hate...warhorse" is a very very underrated song. That song is amazing!!!! I especially like the first solo where it sounds like a spanish guitar of some sort and then on the next solo its on electric....truly deadly. That heavy part before the next part of the song is solid too. "Losing my senses" is good too, very under-rated again. I still cant believe people dont give that album more respect. I agree "promises" is one of the album's best. But my favourite is Dread and The Fugitive Mind, that song is one of the reasons that got me into Megadeth big time. When I heard it on the radio as a promo for capitol punishment, I was blown away, that double-bass part did it for me. And then 4 and 1/2 years later, I end up owning every 'Deth album.

Growleron 09-08-2004 03:00 PM

Hmm troubles in megadeth :S but some great songs like my last wors and tornado of souls

Maneatingbrick 09-08-2004 04:25 PM

Hi, i ma new megadeth fan.

I never got into them for 2 reasons

1) I hated the spelling of deth

2) The only song id heard was crap (forgot its name though)

But recently i gave them another try and now im in love with the bastards.

Pr0j3c7:z3r0 09-08-2004 04:50 PM
They will tour.

But the new album sucks. The 3 songs alot of people have heard already (Kick The Chair, Blackmail The Universe and Die Dead Enough) are the best on it. It really does suck, by st. anger proportions. And ellefeson is sueing :(
Dude, how would you know what sucks and what doesn't? Especially when the CD hasen't been released yet. Also, the best song I've heard from the CD thus far has been The Scorpion(which is on The System Has Failed Promo CD along with the rest you quoted...).

Even then, I've only heard those 4 songs out of 11 on the CD and I can't judge the rest of the CD. Although, from what I heard, I think it sounds as good as Risk, but not as heavy as their earlier CDs, but still good.

Don't judge unless you've heard the ENTIRE thing, and even then, don't judge from one listening--some of the greatest music has to be heard a few times to really feel the music.

Ahh new Megadeth fans. Yeah I never used to pay attention to them and now I love them, go buy Rust in Peace right now.

very much so. i brought the album with me tonight when i was working (pizza delivery) and as usual i always love it more and more. People also leave out the wonderful lyrical aspect of Dave Mustaine, TWNAH has some wonderful well thought out lines that people overlook...espically on the tracks we talked about. TWNAH is an album that did have to grow on me, as when it came out i was still in high school and stuck in the "its its not fast i dont like it" phase lol, but as time has ran its course i find myself ejoying songs by my favourite bands that i onced used to skip over on the albums, Promises being a key one. i bought Cryptic Writings when it first came out and ive been a diehard fan ever since :) im glad you enjoy those more obscure tracks, i tire of people praising Rust In Peace over and over when they have so much more to them than just one album.

cacophonyz 09-08-2004 10:37 PM

rust in peace IS a great cd but i would recommend peace sells over it.peace sells is just an excellent cd.not a bad song on it(alot of people dont like i aint superstitous, but me personally,i love it).not to mention 3 of megadeths finest songs-wake up dead, devils island, and peace sells-are all on it.great track from beginning to end.

Five Magics 09-08-2004 10:47 PM

I hear ya, some people on hear are saying that the new album the TSHF isnt that great....they probably listened to it once through if that. I remember getting CTE, and thinking the same, but then after a few listens it turned out to be solid. ALL music takes time to get use to and like. And ya, Rust may be my favourite, but really ALL their albums (including Risk) are at the least, good.

I've heard the entire thing. Four of the songs suck, the rest is solid ****ing gold. \m/

DimebagDarrell 09-09-2004 04:19 AM

good call, losing my sences and recipe for hate...warhorse are up there with my fav tracks on TWNAH at present, because untill latley i havnt been playing them to "deth" - unlike the rest of the album. the album is pretty darn solid, the only track i dnt like much is "when" - i hate to say it but its such a rip off of "am i evil" in some parts :(

your call about dave being a great lyracist is a good one :thumb:
"heindsight is always 20/20"
"kill a man ur a murder, kill many, your a conqurer, kill 'em all your a god"
the man is a lyrical genius  :thumb:

****ing A! I really don't understand peoole who claims his lyrics are an atrocity (sp)

DimebagDarrell 09-09-2004 11:08 AM

my personal favorite:
Military intelligence, 2 words combined that cant make sence"

I actually like that song it has some killer parts to it. I think Dave deliberately made the song that way, and I think he said somewhere that it was some kind of tribute to Diamond Head.
