Hey, I tried this post in the lyrics section of these forums and got a bunch of emo lyrics so I might as well try it here. I play keyboards for a Michigan jam band called Grüv Unit (check out our website http://www.gruvunit.com/). right now we're mainly a Dead, etc. cover band but we're looking to play more originals. I'm looking for a lyricist who can write some good Americana lyrics a la The Band, Grateful Dead, Allmans, Little Feat, etc. I write a lot of music but any words I try to write don't really come out sounding that good.

Also JPage, I must agree with you on the parking for Bonaroo. After the mess at Coventry I don't know if i wanna deal with big festivals anymore. I definately got phucked at Coventry. I missed the first day and walked 10miles there and back in the cold. It was definately worth it to see the boys one last time but there was plenty of hastle. This summer I'm checking out the smaller festivals, you can hear all about them at jambase.com.
That's quite a line-up. I've only seen about 5 people on that list tho.
(ABB, Panic, DMB, Soundtribe Sector 9, and Toots)

BTW

Gov't Mule is coming to a venue very close to me, tickets aren't sold out yet, but they cost $80 ;( I dunno if I wanna dish out that much to see them when I'm gonna be seeing them at Bonnaroo.
****! It was only $35 in Pittsburgh, that sucks.

Also those aren't all the artists just the ones that have already been confirmed, so Trey and moe. will probably be there.

Jam2Me 01-21-2005 05:49 PM

keep on phishin' 01-30-2005 11:55 AM

A good line up so far. I'm pretty sure there will be more, just most probaly aren't confirmed yet.

Jam2Me 01-30-2005 07:26 PM

I'm not into Claypool all that much, I liked Oysterhead that's about it. Ben Harper is awesome.

jpj 01-31-2005 02:34 PM

I love Claypool. Have any of you heard Live Frogs Set 2? Covering all of Animals is a major feat in the studio, but to do it live is just amazing.

PhishPhan420 02-02-2005 04:21 PM

if anyone knows any scales used by trey in any songs for guitar id appreciate it. thanks

Pirate Satellite 02-02-2005 04:28 PM

Ah, it breaks my heart that Trey and Gordon will both be playing and not sharing a stage.

Does anyone own 'Clone' by Leo Kottke and Mike? I have Mike Gordon's solo and Leo Kottke's solo, and was wondering what their collaboration sounded like. I'm sure it's just awesome.

Kingadamx 02-02-2005 05:50 PM

Claypool is awesome. I have his work with Primus and a lot of his solo stuff.

Supposably, Trey makes up his own scales (alot of the time).

Badmoon, Keller is playing in Chicago, as well as moe., if it's any concern to you.
