Seven Witches are excellent :thumb: Some **** heavy modern american power metal and one of the best newer bands coming out. That Jack Frost fella seems to have one or two more creative bones than your average musician, i mean he's put out close to 10 albums (if not more) in the last 5 years and i have enjoyed all the ones i have heard. Well, looks like he is around for the long run so I guess that means a lot more excellent power metal from the states. :D
NP: Seven Witches - Year Of The Witch |
Yes, i really think they are as well...kind of a fresh outlook on the sound of the genre without being tied in with a million other bands.
|
hehe, i was just listening to Pegazus, when i was hearing this song:
Spread Your Wings I can see the rainbow in the sky The gateway to the clouds after the rain The storm has passed and serenity arrives Where can it take us now? Spread your wings and fly Up to the heavens Where the clouds pass us by Spread your wings and fly Climbing the skies Where lightning once would strike I feel the change is coming now I feel the wind blowing a gale I see the clouds are drifting apart I see the sky turning to grey Spread your wings and fly Up to the heavens Where the clouds pass us by Spread your wings and fly Climbing the skies Where lightning once would strike Are those power metal lyrics? Or would the better fit in on a Spinal Tap album? :p |
I got a copy of Winterheart's Guild by Sonata Arctica the other day.
Its great :) |
There's going to be a small show in NYC with Gothic Knights, Devils Island, Magus Beast, and some other USPM bands. I might go though, though it's $10. You guys know any good USPM bands to check out?
|
For all those who haven't heard of Reviver, I bring to you a song from one of their rare promo discs. Montany's Patrick von Maurik stars on vocals. It takes a little bit to get used to his voice, but I believe it's absolutely fantastic. He's mjy favorite singer. Reviver's due for a debut disc in February, supposedly.
Download Bringer of Evil from my website here. |
So, anyone like Mercyful fate's Melissa?
I've been listening to that album a **** lot lately, and it's one I can never get sick of. All the musicians are top class, as are the songs they play. Excellent band. Excellent Album. Can anyone relate to my sentiments? |
^^^^
OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you **** well know im a DIEHARD Mercyful Fate and King Diamond fan!! Melissa is their crowing moment, espically with "black funeral"...i got every album both both of King's groups and must say Melissa is in the top 3 easily (21 studio efforts by the King in all). |
Isnt Pantera power metal to?
If not what do u guys consider them to be?
pantera are "booze metal", they have NO aspects of power metal in them. |
Children Of Bodom are great :thumb:.
|
^^^^
one of my favourites as well...probley the most listened to metal band in 04' foe me id say, ill be seeing them live for the third time on Nov.8th :) |
Yo, let's see. I like
Dragonforce Iced Earth COB uhh, that's all, really :( Somebody said that Iron Maiden was powermetal once. Is that true? |
No, but they were a big influence on Power Metal in its early days.
|
ookay then :)
|
No, but they were a big influence on Power Metal in its early days.
no, they really were not. Pantera played more hair metal in the 80's than got into thrash when Phil joined. just because they had a cd titled "power metal" has nothing to do with the genre power metal. they lack every fundamental aspect that makes a band a power metal group. |
^ He was referring to Iron Maiden though.
|
still...the pantera thing needed to be said lol. Yes, Iron Maiden were highly influential on power metal, espically Bruce's vocal style and the lyrical content. Iron Maiden are NWOBHM and are easily my favourite metal band :)

Any Ninja Magic fans? I highly suggest you guys check them out.
http://www.dominimagica.com/ninja/index2.html |
Oh my go.
Are those the guys who did the "Real Ultimate Power" website? |
ah, stratovarius... great power metal.. how i love them..
|
Oh my go.
Are those the guys who did the "Real Ultimate Power" website?
I doubt it, since these guys are from Sweden, and teh kid who did "Real Ultimate Power" is probably in teh US. Either way, THE WAY OF LIFE is teh best song. |
I'll have to check that out.
And I think the Real Ultimate Power website was actually done by an adult who used his kids in the photographs. There was a faked press release about it, and I don't think a kid has the resources to stage that. |
Any Ninja Magic fans? I highly suggest you guys check them out.
http://www.dominimagica.com/ninja/index2.html
The instruments aren't even real, are they? the drums certainly aren't. |
I don't know. Teh drums do sound too 'good', like very precise. But according to www.metal-archives.com it's a real band, you know with real instruments.
Wasabi Thunderborn - Vocals/Bass Kawasaké Yamamoto - Drums Katana Shuriken - Guitars Either way, they're good. |
Who likes sinergy?

It's in Belgiumanian (is it Belgian?). hell, anyway, click on the left hand menu to goto that album and download some mp3s. The music files are low-ish quality but the music sure isn't. Excellent power metal to be had by all. (For Free!!) |
I'll check that out later. And it's Belgian.
|
hehe, yeah, i couldnt be sure, so i just made some obviously silly title up. Can anyone even pronounce 'belgiumanian' ? :p
Anyhoe, you definitely should. Great band; a breath of fresh air in power metal, i do think. |
Any Ninja Magic fans? I highly suggest you guys check them out.
http://www.dominimagica.com/ninja/index2.html
My God... I think I have a new favorite band. |
