I read them on my phone and it works perfectly. I read comics on it too and it works out fine. I obviously still prefer hardcopies but I'm not going to pay for a short story I can legally get for free.

Permanent Solution 09-14-2009 12:41 PM

Fair. I tend to buy a lot of used so like $4 or so for up to 400 pages...really not too expensive. Comics/graphic novels are actually killer on a price-per-page basis. Those and nice leather, glided hardcovers are the most expensive books I own.
Never tried reading on my phone, probably wouldn't work for me because my phone screen is insanely small. I love audio books though, I tend to borrow my dads from time to time, he has a lot of Shakespeare audio books. I don't understand half of the sentences but still, relaxing from time to time.
to be honest I doubt very many people understand half of his sentences.

I just realized my Mythology professor's name is John Walsh

Nepenthe 09-14-2009 01:45 PM

i just finished reading through this

http://www.amazon.com/Necronomicon-Weird-Tales-Lovecraft-Gollancz/dp/0575081570/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1252957372&sr=8-3

probably the most complete lovecraft collection ive come across. kinda sucked tho because id already read half of them before.

im nearly finished with the road now. wanted to read it before the movie came out, because after i see a movie i never feel like reading the book its made after. going to read blood meridian next, my friend told me that was easily mccarthys best. started reading this book called a good and happy child, but the road kinda took my attention when i realized the movie is going to be out soon.

Tyler 09-14-2009 01:45 PM

The Road got delayed I think

Nepenthe 09-14-2009 01:49 PM

if they dont do it right it could end up being a really boring movie. his writing style is what makes it so enthralling even when half the time all thats happening is theyre sitting on a tarp eating peaches and **** haha. i hope its a good director, about to look it up. viggo mortensen is probably the perfect actor for the man tho, so thats a good sign.

Niflheim II 09-14-2009 01:53 PM

been readin some golden dawn stuffs lately, no biggie

The anthology I'm reading is (to my understanding) his complete works as far as fiction goes.

Nepenthe 09-14-2009 02:02 PM

what is it called? im probably only missing a couple works between the various anthologies i have but someday i might get it just for collections' sake.

Whenever I read or hear the words Coal Chamber I have the urge to yell BIG TRUCK, which, being in a lecture, doesn't bode particularly well.

LifeInABox 09-14-2009 05:03 PM

Whenever my hardcore thread gets closed I have the urge to do nothing about it.

Tyler 09-14-2009 05:05 PM

Isolation by Carpathian rocks, Nothing To Lose is subpar.

Killing The Dream rules, Fractures is always spinning for me, along with In Place, Apart.

I've been around man, just not around here. Figured I'd stop in and see whats up :naughty:
