Well, I can't understand German well enough to watch a German movie without subtitles.

the2stranger 02-14-2008 10:04 AM
Petey, can you understand English in movies?
Yes, or do you seperate Brtish English and american English?
In both cases, I'm fine with them.

If there's one thing I hate it's dubbed movies.
Strange. Well, I only go to the ones in Antwerp. I guess we want to be multicultural or something.

*aussi
I was in doubt of, how to spell aussi. :p
SEX is OK.
Then you're doing something wrong.
Well, I can't understand German well enough to watch the movie in German.
Last week I watched SAW IV in German, I don't care.
I understand it perfectly fine.
A whole movie in French might be a bit too much for me, but I can keep up pretty well.

tbh I still turn on English subtitles on DVDs so I can follow what's being said because some people are hard to understand

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:08 AM

American English and British English are only different in some vocabulary.

superpeer 02-14-2008 10:09 AM

and pronunciation :\

I once talked to this Scottish guy in a pub, I didn't understand half he said.

And the accent chap.

np: The Foreshadowing - Departure

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:11 AM

Yeah, Irish English is way too mumbled. I had to turn subtitles on during the beginning of Once to understand what was being said.

superpeer 02-14-2008 10:12 AM

Standard US American is probably the easiest to understand I must admit. ):

But yeah, the Dutch TV channels subtitle Flemish shows and vice versa, it's stupid because it's perfectly intelligible most of the time.

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:13 AM

Some southerners down here have really bad Drawls.

superpeer 02-14-2008 10:16 AM

Yeah, Southern American is funny.

My mom always watches Spoed.
I'm actually not sure if that's subtitled.
But yeah, 99% percentof the time it's perfectly understandable.
I remeber they used to subtitle Jambers.
That guy always had such a horny voice, perfect for jazz singing in a smokey bar.

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:17 AM

It makes want to punch things.

not really

It is hot on some girls.

the2stranger 02-14-2008 10:22 AM

I always loved Rogue's voice in X-Men.
:naughty:

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:33 AM

Cajun accents are like the American version of the Cockney accent.

pate 02-14-2008 10:34 AM

Without the cool slang.

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:35 AM

Cajun food is awesome though so I can't insult them too badly.

the2stranger 02-14-2008 10:41 AM

The spacebar on my laptop is so insensitive, so a lot of words come up like that.
It sucks, but I can live with it.

Has anyone here ever had/made a White Russian?
If so, what kind of cream do you use, the regualrone youuse for whipped cream (with ot without sugar?)
And do you whip it or just use it in its liquid state?

gmoneyguy 02-14-2008 10:59 AM
