Y'know.

I've not been part of this thread's history much at all.

And I'm really not saying that's a bad thing.

Pleaseme 06-18-2006 02:31 PM
Do any of you dig Borknagar? I'm a big fan of their eponymous debut.
Never heard of them, what are they like?

Janeway 06-18-2006 02:53 PM

I've been the biggest contributor to this thread.

Oops.

Grr. My sister bought a package of wife beaters, and I want one, but I can't find where the heck she put them. I looked in her closet, and I almost gagged.
It's filled with really super old towels and dirty underwear.

Kinda prog metal, the earlier stuff is more black metal, but always very epic and orchestral sounding.

Johnathan Jacob Maryland owned a plantation in Maryland County, Georgia in the mid 1800's. He wasn't the best plantation owner, most notoriously known for cutting off Joseph Turner (Kunta Omnigna)'s thumbs for teaching other slaves the alphabet. But Johnathan did have passion for one thing, and that was music.. As a young boy he was often impressed by the sling and field drums he saw marching down the streets during parades, and now as an older man he grew accustomed and a fancy for the melodic sounds of chains, axes and other metallic, yet melodic sounds used in the fields.

With all of his excess money left over from his tobacco plantation, he started Maryland Drum Company.

Maryland drum company was also a bit controversial because they were known for using slave labor as means for fetching and chopping wood for the drums.

....seriously.
