We could also try AC/DC :shudders:

Maybe one of us could upload Helter Skelter to get them into the Beatles and then go from there.

I love waking up at 1 and having left-over pizza for breakfast.
Give them something more obscure, like Blue Cheer.

jpj 08-27-2005 12:36 PM

VU & Nico is the only album of theirs I've heard, I really like it though. Heroin is a great song.

thunderzstruck 08-27-2005 01:15 PM

for the metal head thread thing maybe you could upload some Rush...?

Glitterati 08-27-2005 01:23 PM
My favorite is Sister Ray, followed closely by Lady Godiva's Operation.
Sister Ray rules.

I'm listening to Hotel California right now and being reminded of just how great that song is.

I like trippy weird stuff like that, but i have a hard time accepting VU. I got VU and Nico and VU (gray album). Maybe White Light/White Heat will change my mind...

PinkFreud 08-27-2005 01:39 PM
I'm listining to that Jeff Beck bootleg bus gave me and I have to say I'm proud that I consider him my favorite guitarist. This concert is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! If I could see one musician play in their prime I would probablly pick him he's just unreal!!! (him or John Coltrane)
he IS in his prime. i have a few concerts from his current tour. hes amazing.

Woah. I haven't seen you around here in like 2 months. I haven't heard White Light/ White Heat. I'll give it a try.

Jacaranda 08-27-2005 02:15 PM

I'll YSI White Light in Other YSI its a great album.
Sister Ray is such a crazy song the first time I heard it and it got to the "She's busy sucking on a ding-dong, He's busy sucking on my ding-dong" part I was shocked because its such a daring statement. And this was in the 60's

Seafroggys 08-27-2005 02:20 PM

A good band to get a metalhead into CR is Deep Purple. Sure they all know Smoke on the Water, but they don't even know the band.

And the scary thing of it is, Deep Purple is more metal than LZ ;)

Deep Purple were one of those metal building-block artists, like Cream and Jimi Hendrix.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 08-27-2005 04:58 PM

Do you think he'd ever do a US tour?

NP: She's a Woman (live) - Jeff Beck
*has been on a Jeff Beck listining spree all day*

PinkFreud 08-27-2005 05:41 PM

Deep Purple are legendary. Their live show is awesome now. Steve Morse has so much more stage prescence than Richie Blackmore, and isn't an arrgoant twat.

JonG 08-27-2005 06:37 PM

Hmm, just went to a local bookstore that occasionally has some good CD's for cheap.

I got 3 for 10 bucks.

I got An Evening With The Allman Brothers Band and Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms.

I might as well have got them, they were 2 dollars each. The other one I got was Surrealistic Pillow.

Glitterati 08-27-2005 06:47 PM

I haven't listened to Surrealistic Pillow in a while. I should throw it on sometime soon.

JonG 08-27-2005 06:49 PM

The guitar work in Blue Sky is fantastic.

That's probably my favorite guitar solo, at least Top 5.

MBS 08-27-2005 08:53 PM

Ugh, is anyone familiar with iTunes?

Here's my thing:

I've got 2 drives, a C and D drive. All of my music is currently on my C drive and it's cluttering everything up. Is there any possible way to move all of my music to the D drive and have iTunes nice and organized?

JonG 08-27-2005 08:59 PM

I thought D: drive was the DVD drive, or the top one..

jpj 08-27-2005 09:00 PM

I have all my music in my D drive, but I don't use iTunes...

MBS 08-27-2005 09:12 PM

Those are CD drives, I'm talking about a hard drive.

I hate Apple Support. :(

One of the best driving songs of all time. Ramblin' Man is better though

Well I'm going to go to see ABB in VT, I'll make sure to tape in case they do anything remarkable, like have someone from Phish or something. After all, it is Vermont: The Land Of Ice Cream and Jam Bands

MBS 08-27-2005 09:41 PM

Sweet. I finally got it to work.

My friend let me borrow his CD's so I've got some burning to do.

I thought you said "I hate Air Supply". I would have agreed 100%.

The ABB isnt gonna be anywhere around where i live , they might be in atlanta , but thats a 2 and a half hour drive . If they were closer , i would go see them , but im too lazy to go 2 1/2 hours , even though that pretty close .

ATM 08-27-2005 10:56 PM

Almost Famous is such a good movie.

"You know this is good stuff, because I got it from Crosby"

Hahah

Lunch 08-27-2005 10:57 PM

It's one of my favorite movies, for sure.

Jacaranda 08-27-2005 10:58 PM

What band was the band in the movie modeled after? Was it Deep Purple?

JonG 08-27-2005 10:59 PM

I wish ABB/moe. would come around here :(

Unfortunately, no.

ATM 08-27-2005 10:59 PM

I don't think it was modeled after any band.
