Tattoos are kind of silly. Not in a bad way, they just are.

And you have to put lotion/neosporin on them every couple of hours, they blister, they itch, they peel, you have to shower funny 'cause the hot water/soap will damage them...

Arg. Went to Roller Derby last night. SOOO BORING. There are only 3 teams in Tucson, and 1 of them sucks miserably [which is a shame, they're the coolest team], so whenever they're playing, there's really no point in watching 'cause you know who's going to win =/
I want to go to a Roller Derby match sometimes. Although I generally butt heads with rednecks, I still wanna go. There are a few teams here in Austin, and I think it's pretty big here. I know that show "Rollergirls" is shot here. I've watched it twice, and didn't recognize a single landmark or area of town they showed though.

ps. I would like to request you change your name. I'm a simple man, with a simple mind, and I often get you mixed up with my dear friend Pespi, and almost accidently say lude things to you.
I just got my new shoes in the mail

You bought shoes through the mail? How'd that work out? I was thinking about doing that because I can't find the ones I want in any stores around me, but I'm nervous about not being able to try them on.

Tang. 06-18-2006 10:01 AM

my ex gf recently got a tatoo..

wow going through a break up really sucks.

green242 06-18-2006 10:11 AM

Tattoos, piercings, hair color, hair style, different clothes, hats, bracelets, rings, shoes....... All the same thing, style. If it feels good do it.

Janeway 06-18-2006 10:31 AM

We've been tattooing ourselves for ages. We have some pathetic primal need to diversify ourselves and wear things to make us 'pretty'. That's why we wear jewelry, pierce ourselves, style our hair, wear clothing that's shiny and tacky beyond all fuck.
It doesn't make us different from each other, it unifies us. It embraces a primordial aspect of being a human being.

And what the hell do I care if I regret my tattoo?
I'm going to die anyways.
=/

green242 06-18-2006 10:48 AM

Ok then, in ur theory, we're all identical. People enjoy things, weather it is drinking, playing music, listening to music, getting holes punched into their bodies, pictures etched into their skin. It's all for one thing, to make themselves happy. Cuz everything you do in life, I belive, is selfish. No matter what it is, it's for an image for your own.

Ming-a-Ling 06-18-2006 10:52 AM

I think you're all avoiding the really important issue here, and that is Pessi's name. It's just too similar to Pespi. While I realize Pespi is now known as "Cube", I still refer to her as Pespi, as do many of you. I don't know how many times I've almost typed something incredibly offensive in response to something Pessi has said thinking it was Pespi. I can't have this kind of confusion in my life.

Tang. 06-18-2006 11:06 AM

haha. Jeremy is right..it is quite confusing.

Theres alot of debate going on today in the strong hold geeze.

Janeway 06-18-2006 11:07 AM

And why does it make us happy? Because we're indulging in something we've had a need for since our creation. Every single human being on the face of the earth has this need.
If we didn't, why does jewelry exist? Why do we feel the need to spend $4,000 on a thin ribbon of gold with a big, fat, shiny diamond hanging on the end? It doesn't make sense at all when you think about it logically.
We could use $4,000 to pay for a years worth of food.
We like pretty things, and we like to be pretty.
Tattoos are the same theory, especially in modern times.

It doesn't make us identical. We aren't all doing the exact same thing.
But it does unify us, because it identifies an aspect that we all share as humans.

And I've kind of done that too.
I see her name and think it's someone whose hijacked my name, and I get all ready to flame the heck out of them, then I realize it's her.

Sunshine 06-18-2006 11:23 AM

Due to popular demand, I submitted me a name-change request.

I was going to just make a new account, but...eh. I already have this one.

So you may all rest easy.

green242 06-18-2006 11:25 AM

exactly... A $4000 bracelet, a good example of selfishness. But you made it sound as if you were saying no matter what we do, we're not an individual, just a slave of life

Janeway 06-18-2006 11:28 AM

Well, that's...good.

I'm still undetermined as to whether people want you to change their name because of my negative reputation, or smorgasborg of positive contributions to to MX. I choose the latter.

AND EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!
My scalp got hella sunburned at Allentown last weekend, and it all peeled up today. My entire part, about six inches, was all one big mound of dead skin, but it still had my hair going through it. I had to pick out every single little bit of skin by hand, and now I've got chunks of skin on the back of my shirt and in some of my hair.
Eerg.

Edit: Well, we are all slaves to our instincts.
None of us really overcome any of that. In a sense, once every unimportant aspect of our lives is stripped out, we are all exactly the same. We are here to survive, and we all will do it by the same means.

Holy crap it worked...:amaze:

What are you changing it too? It better not be Ming-a-Ding. I know it's a tough name to resist, but just call upon all of your willpower.

Sunshine 06-18-2006 11:30 AM

Ew. That's happened to me before. Its absolutely disgusting.

Janeway 06-18-2006 11:31 AM

Oh my god!
I want to change my name to Ming-a-Ding now.
God dammit!

I've actually been thinking of it for awhile now. I've been asked if I was her, if I was copying her, and all that. But now I've actually gone through it.

Hahaha, don't flatter yourself. I'm just going from one nickname to the next.

"Sunshine."

It's kind of a joke that no one here understands.

Yeah, it's a remarkably similar name. How did you get that nick name anyways?

Janeway 06-18-2006 11:38 AM

Hmm...I want to change my name again.
I hate Cube.

I don't even know why I picked it.

Sunshine 06-18-2006 11:38 AM

Pessi...well...is short for Pessimistic Optimist. Because, apparently, a lot of the statements I make are...pessimistically optimistic. Or Optimistically pessimistic. As observed by many o' my friends 'round the world.

Ming-a-Ling 06-18-2006 11:39 AM

Yeah, Cube is lame. You're lame. You should have kept it as Pespi.

Ah. It would have been alot cooler if it was from a misprint on a chinese menu. But that's cool too.

Quinto 06-18-2006 11:46 AM

wait, wait. cube is pespi, omg. i feel like an idiot now

Janeway 06-18-2006 11:48 AM

I have the urge to change it to Momma.
Or Antigone.
=/

No clue why.

And Jeremy, stfu.
We all know you were a furry in college and called yourself Mercutio.

Sunshine 06-18-2006 11:48 AM

Chinese menu?

I think I've only eaten Chinese...3 times in the past 5 years. I don't have much experience with them...are they misprinted often?

Out of those two, Antigone. You don't seem like a Momma.
Chinese menu?

I got Pespi because I was at a new chinese restaurant in Akron, and they had just put the menu up. They mispelled 'pepsi' as 'pespi' and the name stuck.

I am kind of tickled that it was remembered.

Is there a limit as to how many name changes you can make?

Sunshine 06-18-2006 11:54 AM

Ahh, cool.

I thought it was pepsi when people first started mentioning it, too. Shows how well I read.

From what I read, the only limit was once a month.
