except it's true. 99% of metalheads are annoying idiots. i don't really get what you mean there.

Angmar 01-20-2009 08:48 AM

lol I'm sure you would know

I don't see how that's true at all, have you ever been to a metal show? People are cool and chill with each other even though they don't know each other. What I mean is that you would never say anything like that back when you actually listened to the genere, and that ex-metalheads convince themselves of this bs for some reason.

rasputin 01-20-2009 08:49 AM

he's too cool for metal now

Jev 01-20-2009 08:53 AM

idk whenever I go see metal bands, there's always a load of dicks there.

huh?

that's because i was young and just hung around whoever and acted dumb. most metalheads are just nerds with no sense of personality. just looking at the fanbase you can see this.

also, since when do i not listen to metal?

RetiredAt21 01-20-2009 09:24 AM

Sup doods?

AA-12 01-20-2009 09:25 AM

chilling out waiting to watch some Obama.

Jev 01-20-2009 09:32 AM

I wonder if that'll be on in the UK.

When's it supposed to be on?

RiceMonster 01-20-2009 09:37 AM

Sick of hearing about Obama tbh. Oh well, since america apparently elected god, it's to be expected

AA-12 01-20-2009 09:40 AM

lol

Tyler 01-20-2009 09:40 AM

idk i'd be celebrating too if bush was finally gone.

i mean, in spite of my hate for political dilettantism and green-day-intellectuals, the guy was pretty bad at his job.

the2stranger 01-20-2009 09:45 AM

Howdy.
I had a busy day at work.

Good to be home, esepcially since I can do jack **** now.

Sup?

Tyler 01-20-2009 09:47 AM

nm, in class hearing my philosophy prof (conveniently named professor wiseman) ramble on about stuff i dont care about

AA-12 01-20-2009 09:48 AM

dear tyler,

stop messing around on the internet and pay attention to class

love,
professor wiseman

the2stranger 01-20-2009 09:49 AM

Prof Wiseman. That's very appropriate!

What is he lecturing about?

I'm listening to some October Tide, since I recommended it to someone a few days ago.
I love re discovering music.

Tyler 01-20-2009 09:50 AM
Prof Wiseman. That's very approriate!

Descartes's meditations with random tangents on interactionism, and other mind/body theories.

AA-12 01-20-2009 09:51 AM

that's actually really interesting stuff.

Tyler 01-20-2009 09:58 AM

it's okay, now he's just talking about arbitrary characteristics like smell and how you can't assign a value to smell, ie: 10 smelleronies (his words, not mine)

the2stranger 01-20-2009 09:59 AM
Descartes's meditations with random tangents on interactionism, and other mind/body theories.
I always found Descartes to be quite interesting.

I still have some Nietzsche laying arounfd and two books on the history of philosophy.

But currently I'm reading the Qu'ran.
It's quite an easy read actually, although I can see it getting boring since it just seems like an endless list of things-to-do and things-to-do-not-do.
And since I can't read any Arabic, I guess the interesting story telling structure will also be lost to me.

Oh well.
it's okay, now he's just talking about arbitrary characteristics like smell and how you can't assign a value to smell, ie: 10 smelleronies (his words, not mine)
I love how one can come up with absurd terms and get away with it...in the name of philosophy.

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:01 AM

The Qu'ran is beautifully written for the most but pretty much doesn't say anything. It's pretty vague. At least that's how I remember it.

The best part about Nietzsche is the guy was a total nutjob. People don't realize he was completely insane and out of his mind. The guy basically had syphilis his entire life so his writings were mostly just rambling side-effects

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:04 AM

My prof just described a paleontologist as "someone who studies old ****".

This is my favourite note so far:

"Thus, if I use my capacity to judge properly, then what I judge to be the case really is the case". Descartes seems like he was kind of a dick.

Jev 01-20-2009 10:09 AM

AA-12 01-20-2009 10:12 AM

i really, really, want to read the Qu'ran. is there a suggested translation?

Disfunction can createthe most original (and ****ed up) ideas.
But still, it's fun to read, even though you have to take it with a grain of salt (is this even an english experssion?)

Your prof has pretty lol-worthy conclusions.
i really, really, want to read the Qu'ran. is there a suggested translation?
I can't help you too bad, unless you'd like to read a Dutch translation.

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:19 AM

That conclusion was Descartes (the one concerning judgement), not my professors.

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:22 AM

Everything sounds interesting when you summarize it.

the2stranger 01-20-2009 10:23 AM
That conclusion was Descartes (the one concerning judgement), not my professors.
I meant the dick part.
I can't imagine Descartes calling himself a dick, even though that would bring the lulz.

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:24 AM

Oh, no, that was me saying how he seems like kind of a dick.

the2stranger 01-20-2009 10:29 AM

Aight.

I love how you can be on the internet during your class and apearantly paying more attention to what's going on here, then on the class.
Still you give of the highlights of your class, so we can say it sounds interesting and have an occasional lolz, cause I sometimes think philosophy is funny.
:)

I wish I had philosopy on high school or something.

Tyler 01-20-2009 10:30 AM

I never took philosophy in high school.

And yeah, I can multitask. I've been taking notes, I just tune out a lot.

negrodamus 01-20-2009 10:32 AM
Everything sounds interesting when you summarize it.
That's true, but that kind of material is very appealing to me.

You know, like, philosophy and all of that ****.

the2stranger 01-20-2009 10:39 AM
I never took philosophy in high school.

I'm a very selective multi tasker.
Some things I can do without any trouble.
Others, I need to do one by one and really focus.

I love playing shooter games, flying in the air, aiming at an opnonents skull and firing, whilst having discussions on serious and empathic bussines.
Twisted, but hey.

Damn, I'm hungry.

np: Orthodox - Geyron's Throne

repcak 01-20-2009 10:45 AM

multi tasking - men can watch pr0n and masturbate simultanously.

Dimmu Burger 01-20-2009 10:51 AM

lulz
multi tasking - men can watch pr0n and masturbate simultanously.

Or **** you're own girl, while imagining you're ****ing another girl.
Even though I've never actually done that.

Food was good, wok food is always great.
Plus, we just had a massacre here.
My mom cut her finger on a tin and the whole kitchen was covered in smears of blood, cause she didn't notice the cut till the whole kitchen was painted
red.
:-\

Tyler 01-20-2009 11:38 AM

I still have two hours to kill before my next class. Uggggh.

McP3000 01-20-2009 11:39 AM
