Rollo47 12-10-2004 10:49 AM

Yeah. I'm off now... we're starting recording the cd tomorrow, and I'm going bass shopping before hand.

Seeya All.

Brilliant :thumb:

This video is great. Just got a video of the Who playing My Generation on the Ed Sullivan show, whatever that may be.

So you're Pete?
Yes
Where are you from?
London.
London where?
London England.

And you're John?
That's right.
And you're from?
London.

You must be Roger.
I must be!
And you're from?
Oz.

And you are?
My friends call me Keith. You can call me John.

The performance ends with an almighty boom, as due to a misunderstanding, the bass drum was packed with 3 times as much explosives as it should have been!

bottlerocket 12-10-2004 12:19 PM

Alex: My friend told me that, in England, it's illegal to say "bloody" on the radio and TV, but they don't censor **** (I know it will edit that, but that's the 'f' word there).

True or false?

Also, he said if you say "[something here] the bloody queen" you can be arrested for treason?

I figure you'd know, seeing as you live in England. Thanks.

cheesepuff 12-10-2004 12:24 PM

wow, that sounds like crap to me, but then again, the only british radio I've ever heard was on the magical intarweb, so it wasn't censored.

Wintermute 12-10-2004 12:29 PM

Lets see now... I don't know much about the radio, but I know that you can't say fuck on it, because there was a big uproar when Ali G commented on Radio 1 that he'd been told not to say "M - U - T - H - A - fucker"

Technically, you probably can. It's one of those things that's never been repealed. It would never happen, but you technically could. Also, treason is the only crime you can still be hung for.

Wintermute 12-10-2004 12:32 PM

Also defacing a coin, stamp, or any other image of the Queen. That's treason too.

i'm hung for treason :naughty:

Wintermute 12-10-2004 12:43 PM

Oh, also every man who is physically able must do an hour's longbow practise every Sunday. In case those pesky French invade again. Or those Spaniards. Or Germans. Or Norwegians.

California laws:
Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.
It is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.
Women may not drive in a house coat.
No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour.

San Diego Laws:

cheesepuff 12-10-2004 12:53 PM

There's also somewhere in England where it's legal to shoot a Welshman outside the city walls after midnight with a bow and arrow, or something like that.

cheesepuff 12-10-2004 01:03 PM

I'm pretty sure there's a law about shooting fish in either NH or VT

Wintermute 12-10-2004 01:05 PM

It's in the town square, though I forget which particular town. Also, it must be a Longbow. At a certain distance.

TheIdiotBox 12-10-2004 01:08 PM

Ah, I was close. And there's somwhere where it's illegal to hang your bed out of the window as well.

jamesr 12-10-2004 01:10 PM

****ITTOHELL!!! I was just thinking about doing that :(

PaulR 12-10-2004 01:12 PM

You changed your avatar :o

Who passes these stupid laws?

And you probably need to have a reason for shooting the Welshman.

Omega Red 12-10-2004 01:15 PM
