Dimmu Burger 11-05-2008 08:20 AM

lol there was rioting anyways, it just would've been more violent or everybody would have just went home.

That's good, there's a good handful of these kids on facebook who have their status set to something like "_____ is watching the country fall" or "America is screwed, thanks everyone!" ridiculous shit like that, people need to get a grip.

Oh good its not just my friends. I changed mine to "OMG we elected a democrat! I have to go vomit! /sarcasm" lol

All of the people from my old church were saying that this makes them sick and they have to go throw up, I'm like WTF?

Jev 11-05-2008 08:24 AM

Man that sounds hilarious.

Angmar 11-05-2008 08:24 AM

When I said I was happy Obama won as my status some girl made the comment "I would totally agree with you if I hated my country!" and then a bunch of people got after her and she was like "lol jk!!!!"

lol nice!

masscows 11-05-2008 08:25 AM

After some reflection this may not turn out as bad as I thought it would, I was just feeling really pessimistic last night.

Mostly because it scared me how easy it was for Obama to convince ignorant people to vote for him on such a huge scale.

Dimmu Burger 11-05-2008 08:29 AM

I think it was inevitable to have a change in party after the way Bush ran the country. I'm just glad it was Obama that got elected and not somebody even more over the top.

masscows 11-05-2008 08:30 AM

yeah McCain had no chance from the get-go

Dimmu Burger 11-05-2008 08:33 AM
yeah McCain had no chance from the get-go
Honestly I was suprised at how many people I knew were voting for him. Of course they were mostly the generic Christian vote.

Angmar 11-05-2008 08:35 AM

Obama got even more electoral points than I expected, he over doubled McCain, which is awesome.

masscows 11-05-2008 08:36 AM

I only know like 3-4 people in my age range who voted for him

him being McCain ofc

I was discussing his with my wife: Why don't they just add up the popular vote and then have that person win? If that was the case Bush would never have been elected or re-elected. It's just odd to me.

repcak 11-05-2008 08:39 AM

American electoral system is indeed very very weird, but you won't change it. Its written in the constitution and its hard to change it. I think, you have to deal with it.

btw. Dan, sup with the interview?

Angmar 11-05-2008 08:40 AM

The last Bush election was an odd one, the whole electoral college thing is something that dates back to the early roots of the country, didn't use to be decided upon the people of the states votes at all though.

Sorry to put it off for so long dude. I honestly have no idea when we are getting together again. I've always been the one to call everybody to find out when we are practicing but I'm sick of it so I'm just gonna sit around and wait for a phone call. When I get one I'll have us do the interview. Sorry again dude!

I just think its retarded that the person with the most votes doesn't always win. This election in particular was actually quite close when it comes to overall votes. Only a few million difference last time I checked. I'll go check again.

Ok CNN said: Obama snared about 62.5 million votes to McCain's 55.5 million, according to totals early Wednesday.

That's not really the landslide that the electoral college makes it out to be.

Well, I have the written Constitution of the USA in my room... but I am too lazy to check it out.

Jev 11-05-2008 08:53 AM

Are they all saying that because he's black?

Dimmu Burger 11-05-2008 08:55 AM

I think they are saying that because they think he's a terrorist/communist/radical/not-Christian. Retards.

my dad thinks this stuff is true too

seriously I love the guy but how stupid can you be?

ATM 11-05-2008 10:22 AM

Why does your dad think that?

masscows 11-05-2008 10:23 AM

because he watches fox news uncritically

pate 11-05-2008 11:25 AM

No. The electoral college system works. It's a happy medium between popular vote and one vote per state.

If it was all popular vote, and a candidate won ALL OF New York and California, they would have a HUGE advantage. The way it is now, it's spread out more. So that even the smallest states have some importance. If it was popular vote, it wouldn't matter.
