the show last week quickly discussed a new particle they discovered. several astronauts reported strange flashes in their vision while working in space, it was a tiny particle, remnants of particles ejected from a supernova or other large cosmic event, passing through their retina. I want to say it was a meson, but I could be wrong

Hah it's cool. I didn't get a chance to see that one, but most of the ones I have seen have been great, I really liked the one on the sun's working and also on the formation of the Earth.

i dont know if its entirely proven, but that seems like the same one i saw, where the moon is debris that collected after another large object (really large) impacted the earth and sent matter flying but was caught by earths gravity and later formed the moon. it also explained why the earth was tilted and the moon rotates differently than most objects that orbit other planets.


crazy stuff to contemplate billions of years passing by while stuff like this molded our planet to what it is today, and how easy this place could be nothing but a fireball or ice rock, or even still dominated by lower animals if not for the mass extinctions that allowed mammals to progress

Yeah it really is. The one I saw involved that, but also explained how earth became habitable, and how it's life evolved to the way it is today.
