Musta been another magazine. Whatever, they still suck because they low rated Demigod and stopped you from listening to it. Shame on you for not forming your own opinions!

I usually do, this was a while back (and it was a pretty bad review not even a lukewarm one).

But I listened to Demigod on myspace and am convinced that that guy was mentally retarded.

Especially since he praised Nile over them, saying that Nile "pushes the envelope". Now I like Nile, but they definitely don't deserve that.

Besides, from what I heard of Slumber Of Sullen Eyes, if the whole album is like that, it has earned a place in my top 5 death metal albums.

That Terrorizer list was pretty good. Yeah they're all the bigger DM bands but what do you expect from a mainstream metal magazine? Ok I prefer Furbowl to 'Heartwork' and House of Usher to Nile but if you wanted to give someone a list of DM albums to buy, then that list would be a good start.

i enjoy parts of the first 4 tracks, then the cd bleeds into the same exact song. the guitar is the interesting part for me, like that really fast riff on "make them suffer." pat o'brien is great but CC really lost it by getting George. for one thing Alex writes the lyrics now and he just uses a bunch of rhyming dictionaries so its not near as good/thought out as Barnes' lyrics.

Demigod is alright I guess. I listened to their myspace tracks and was only blown away by one of them.

On the other hand, Unleashed's latest sounds pretty killer from what I've heard on it. Anyone have it?

I like Angela's voice. :(

Amott's soloing makes up for the lack anything else that's good in AE's music.

I like the vocals better on this one because they're more...natural, for lack of a better word. They're not overprocessed and overeffected.

Angela's vocals are still terrible.

I saw a live video and unless she's running her voice through a processor she sounds exactly like that on stage.

and angela's been going to melissa cross, the old stuff has effects, but its just to touch up her voice. plus the microphone adds a slight bit of distortion too.

you might just be judging them on the vox. yeah i really dont like gossow's vocals but amott is the only reason i keep the album on my ipod, riffs like the one in nemesis, the lick on hybrids of steel, etc. his solos are great too, the one in taking back my soul reminds me of loomis with the whole diminished arpeggio thing goin on in that part.

Everything is just bad. Vocals, drums, guitar, bass, etcetcetc. All terrible. Amott needs to stop BSing and go back to his roots.

I agree with Ghoul Hunter, Arch Enemy does suck.

Arch Enemy kind of got me into metal a little bit, but even by the time I was in my In Flames/etc phase I already thought they sucked.

I still like them. The meedley-meedley parts are quite good.

There's nothing wrong with Arch Enemy. It's poppy sure, but I don't want ultra-brutal all the time. They handle melodies far better than most.

Before it happens, don't change 'poppy' to 'poopy'. I know how this board is :p
