Jessamine is fairly droney like the mentioned groups....but there are few good iterations of the style. Just check out some of the great 1st gen shoegaze and dreampop groups.

Radial Spangle - Syrup Macrame

I highly recommend, nice 90's moody/bendy indie rock. It's got a touch of everything, with an intricate droney quality

kitsch 11-23-2011 03:00 AM

i just know im going to like this record

kitsch 11-23-2011 03:33 AM

yeah this rules

kitsch 11-23-2011 03:38 AM

man quickspace and this band i have really liked.

what else do you know of that complements these bands

SugarCoatedSour 11-23-2011 08:41 AM

I've been scooping the underbelly of indie rock/shoegaze/post-rock/dreampop anything that came out of the 80's underground really.

SugarCoatedSour 11-23-2011 08:52 AM

I've deeply dug Mark Robinson (labelhead of Teenbeat) projects:

Unrest - Perfect Teeth, Imperial F.F.R.R
Air Miami - Me,Me,Me
Grenadine - Goya

these are pop-oriented and punk infused affairs consisting of the same members, there is focus on the production element so the turn out is very textured. Grenadine is particularly moody and ambivalent

the tense and quirky, yet rounded and rhythmically sensible mid 90s indieness of it

also the dual male female vocals

excellente muchacho

SugarCoatedSour 11-28-2011 10:01 PM

There aren't too many groups I know of that have such a forward pop sensibility...and especially that feature pleasant male+female vocals. My Bloody Valentine certainly comes to mind, Medicine comes to mind as well(trippy rather than pleasant). Lots of shoegaze basically.

here's one that has a shoegazey beachboys kind of vibe.

Quite a near and dear band, very unique and very rocking
